I can try that next time but THIS TIME was a pain in the ass. Did all
the stuff stated in the message above and didn't get a chance to
restart it last night. Today I went to fire it up and just powered it
up as usual. No internet again, same ol situation. So I powered it
off, held in the Dell power button, turned power back on, started it
up, same thing... no internet. Powered it off, unplugged the network
cable, plugged it back in (this is the second cable I tried and it's
brand new, same as with the other one I tried before someone suggests
the cable might be the problem. Powered it up and same thing again,
no internet.

Powered it off again, unplugged what I thought was the network cable
from th FIOS router, plugged in my NIC and powered it up, Now it
didn't even act like it had anything plugged in. Could connect,
wouldn't even think about pinging, I don't don't think that's a
regular network line. So plugged everything back the way it was
before and powered it up and TAH-DAH... internet worked.

So looks like all that mess above was for not much of anything.
Next???? Dell support center?
