The most I can tell you is it is a 300 Mhz Arm. Not speedy. Your ram specs are the same as ours (if not larger - depends on if management overrules engineering <sigh>).
As opposed to X, it was a size requirement as opposed to speed. However, MythTV is said to work quite well with a VIA at 600 Mhz. And, though you can pare down X by a lot with Modular X, I'm not sure how much nor what you lose. DFB doesn't really "load" apps - it is not a manager. Think of it as a device abstraction layer. In other words, your application calls routines that instantiate DFB (not the other way around). Think of it as a library of video functions, rather than a window manager (I think you are getting all of it confused). So, for example, you would start Firefox from the command line. Firefox in turn would start up DFB. DFB would then use the frame buffer to display a gui. Hopefully that helps clarify things rather than muddle them up.
