I am not new to GNU/Linux, but are relatively new to the GUI side of it. I am working on a project that requires the use of a GUI but also needs to be very fast. I am obviously familiar with X11 and stumbled upon directfb. It seems that DFB is a smaller package (maybe less to break) than X11. Below are some questions I had.
What are the advantages of using DFB over X11?
Are apps (ie firefox) faster at loading with DFB over X11?
Can someone please include any benchmarks to show either way?
