Ah, you are correct. We are running SDL backend. My bad. I must have read an incorrect explanation of it. All which explains why the sucker never ran without SDL! :p That incorrect explanation colored my reading of the explanation on the XDirectFB page... which NOW makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the clarification. That actually simplifies my life.
