Hello Kent,

I had the same experience. I got my RHCE back in 2002. My pager kept
going off during the test, I had to keep going outside to deal with
it. The examiner told me that I had no chance, then had to eat his
words when I got a 96 on the test.

It was a 1 week cram, and as others have said, a lot of what I learned
I've forgotten since I don't use it.

I'm actually looking at updating my cert, and was wondering if anybody
had some good suggestions for books. I'm a bit weak in some of the
newer technologies and networking; not too bad, but I want to get
better before taking the test. Right now I'm looking at spending $$$
to take the online course, advantage is that the online materials are
available for 3 months for unlimited studying.

I'm doing this because I lost out on a good job recently because they
insisted on a current certification. My feeling is that the cert plus
experience is more valuable than the experience alone. I know that I
will learn new stuff studying for the test, and even if I don't use
some of it at least I will be aware of the new stuff.

Suggestions would be welcome.
