Notice my name has been used with oils by Ian W. Russell White and Rob Thomson may have other ideas.
Years ago I can say we had a 1700EA (falke) which had high oil temp problems with 20W50 (GTX2 Castrol) and we went to s sticky Shell oil ?? designed for GTO V8 Falcons from 70s? and it did an amazing job Everybody has their own preferences of brands etc. Today it is the same oil as I use in my Holden 10W40 Castrol Magntec but I am certain others are equally good. I find with that still my problem is too lower oil temp in winter so outcomes the cardboard to partly cover oil cooler. I do expect to maybe change to slightly thicker oild when engines are getting older ( maybe 15W50 or 20W50 or even Penrite -think it is 15W60) My bottom line is use a thinner QUALITY oil if you can as remember we (AUS) are not strictly tropical - it is in manuals and if at all possible have 85degC at some time in flight.
