I'm back in 9 now. The padlocks were on the bottom left of the CE icon from the dock. Also, if I quick CE then tried to start it up again, I couldn't. I mean, I could find my Classic desktop folder, find the CE alias, double click it, see that faint "open window" graphic, but then nothing. The only way I figured out how to restart CE was to restart the iBook.
