I am curious as to why you want to know since it seems you are swearing off OSX, but I was able to make an alias of the Desktop of the User folder (it's not in the Documents folder) and I even dragged the alias onto the Desktop. Is this what you mean? Why would I want to do any of this anyway? You want to drag a text file into a web browser window? I just dragged a text file into a browser window and now I see text. What else do you want me to do?
