Wow, I feel like a bit of a lunkhead. I hadn't noticed that "Apply All Rules" option before. Glad it exists!
So if I'm understanding this correctly, selecting "All Rules" will just apply the rules for that one instance, and then they'll all stay disenabled until the next time I hit the "Apply All Rules" option? That's perfect---I'll give it a whirl. (Now I just have to get busy setting up all of the durned rules themselves....I've got a *lot* of folders here! :) ) Paul, I may try the Custom View idea as well, though to be honest I am pretty unclear on that whole aspect of the Entourage program---I've never used 'em at all up to now. In any case, thanks to both Paul and Greg for the kind advice. Again, this list is a godsend for somebody as un-intuitive about software as I am. Best, Beth P.S. I just had a thought: What if you have already set up *other rules* (rules that are not related to the filing of email)? What if those other rules are not currently enabled, and you DON'T want to have them functional, even just for that one "filing run"? (Can't think what such a rule might be....but seems like this could be an issue.) Then the "All Rules" option would run those as well, right? Ah well---maybe it's likely to happen. I can't think what I'd be using the Rules for other than this filing function anyhow. This should do what you want. > > --Greg > -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
