Hi Plums,
I thought that the thread was very interesting. Everyone rushing
to defend the honour of the EOS 3 :-) And in such a nice way too!
Did you also notice that the "High Performance" AF above f/2.8
is able to focus within 1/3 of the DOF, rather than to just within
DOF as "Normal Precision" when used with slower lenses?

P.S. If I had more fast glass rather than my slowish f/5.6 zooms,
I would have probably bought an EOS 3, rather than an Elan 7E Date.
