I think perhaps it's worth waiting to have a look at the wizards and tools offered along with bgt.

I can afterall think of some very good examples of open graphical game engines which feature highly useable creation tools, but don't require scripting, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocks%27n%27Diamonds for details of one such.

And ultimately, if the games created are all the same, well that's the fault of the developers as much as the engine.

Beware the grue!

Dark.

I tend to agree with you on that. That's partly why Audio Game Maker was such a flop...well that and the documentation was out of date and there was no support for it.

I must be the one person in the universe who gets annoyed by this. I had
always hoped that BGt would be there for people to create new and original game concepts. Not to take a generic template and maybe modify a few lines and call it a game. BGT offers an excelent help file which gives plenty of information on how to get started. I do not believe that the world should be spoon-fed everything. I have always believed that if you want something
bad enough, you will find ways to make it happen.

Hi Phil,
For those who do not want to learn or dive head on into scripting right
away, will you have a way to create certain types of games without any
scripting?
