It doesn't seem as if Gimp development has the critical mass (read:
sheer number of module developers) that Perl has. I think an
expansion/tweaking of the registry would suffice for now, but perhaps we
should be thinking of the NG Plug-in Registry, which should probably be
modelled on CTAN/CPAN.
