Harry: Now I understand how the mixture control works. I guess I have never waited long enough for the effect. I never lean below 5000' When I taxi on the ground I run full lean to keep the plugs cleaner. (I was told) I use full lean for hot starts. Above 5000' I find higher rpm at full rich. Above 8000' I have been able to lean a very little bit but it still runs just as well full rich. If it was not for taxiing, I would be tempted to safety wire the damned thing full rich and rip out the control and stick a dandy map lite in the hole in the dash.
