This stream makes me thankful I am a Linux user! No worrying about hardware upgrades because some foreign Multi-National decides they need more control of MY computer! I just install or upgrade from the (Linux) distro repositry. Apparently many Windows users felt the same after the introduction of W11, & moved to Linux. Personally, I use PCLinuxOS, & have used that distro for 15 yrs +. Linux user for 20 yrs +, & Gnucash almost as long under Linux. For those that would like to try Linux, one can download an image of PCLinuxOS (& other distros too), burn the distro to a thumbdrive using BalenaEtcher or similar, boot the distro & try off the thumbdrive (no need to install unless you want to!) As a Windows user you will find the system not that dissimilar to using Windows, & most of the functionality is similar. (Did Windows copy Linux? Who knows: very TIC)
Happy New Year to all. & pls take this comment as a helpful hint, not as a derogatory comment on Windows, that I feel has made a tactical error on the move to W11. One can only milk a cow so far until the cow starts complaining! regards, Doug On Thu, 25 Dec 2025 22:57:04 +0000 "Ken Pyzik" <[email protected]> wrote: > Nancy-- I think you are on the right track now.
