support for the OS rather than Microsoft (smart move on MS's part.) I don't know the terms very well (since it's been a long, long, long time that I built computers in a shop) but does Microsoft spell out a specific time limit that you need to support their OS for?

Microsoft says we have to support the OEM versions we sell. I have never seen anything that says we can or can not charge for those support services. We know that operating system failures that occur after a day or so of use of the computer are 1% hardware related and 99% non-hardware related. It seems that way.

I either fix OEM operating system problems or I Ghost the clone I made over what they have and that fixes the mess. I charge my modest rates for my services. So far Microsoft has not notified me of any complaints.
