As a rule I *always* statically assign my 'cornerstone' devices (ISDN router, Mac Server and 802.11 AP) a set IP address manually that ends in something that is the egining of a sequence
Just wanted to say that I gave it a try and it works! Finally I have an AirPort Extreme network the way it should be, and the base station is no longer a heavily overpriced (albeit still damn impressive) paperweight. :) Thanks a lot, Mark! Sometimes the simplest solutions are truly the best.
