Okay, after more than a week, I *finally* have something. This little test app does use some Swing components, like the JEditorPane for displaying HTML, but in my full-up app I removed these panes and still had the problem... You should be able to extract and run... the "runit.bat" is setup to run using the 1.3.0_02 from the "Program Files" area, so you may need to edit it. I have tested on two machines, one Win98 the other WinME, 750Mhz and 566Mhz respectively. I am sending this message to John bc you have a Win98 machine, so plz test also if you have the time. I think I need to spend time with this and reduce it some, but I think it is really just a memory/threading problem, so you can't just point at one component. Thanks... Lee
