my adobe is fixed. i didn't have to switch ie10 either, which I am most happy.
I would like to say something here regarding the OCR function, it seems like my
utility bill is a scanned image, but thanks to the OCR and not OB here, I am
able to read that bill.
Just a little freeby there for yall in case you get a PDF that states empty
after opened by Adobe, this might just work for ya to read.

Adobe 10 had to be removed and so 11 could be installed, no need of the java
either. I'm certainly not saying that isn't important here, just glad I didn't
have to deal with it.
So thanks again to all who tried to help me today. I'll go away now and
hopefully I can stay out of trouble.

  Trish,
Call the Microsoft Accessibility Support group at 800-936-5900. They are a
great group, and they will have you up and running in no time. Let them
access your computer, they are honest people and will not go into anything
except where they need to go to fix your problem.

    Hi Mike,\

Trish received the latest Adobe setup executable from me. I've never had
problems running the .EXE files before when installing or updating but,
  I'm
not going to say that the file could not have gotten corrupted somewhere
along the line. I guess Trish's best option would be to get a fresh
  update
from Adobe or Ninite. Also Trish, if you can get Adobe to open from your
desktop or start menu shortcuts try the following:
    1. While in the main Adobe window press the, Alt key, to open the menues.
    2. Left or right arrow to, Help.
    3. Arrow up to, check for updates, & press enter to have Adobe check for
updates to your currently installed version. Also, in this Help menu is
  an
option to repair if you want to try repairing the installed version first.
    HTH
    Take care.

    Trish,

The problem that you are experiencing could be many things. Although many
programs need the Java Runtime Environment to run properly, seeing a run
time error doesn't always mean that Java will fix it. How did you install
the Adobe Reader? Where did you download it from and did you "Run" it or
"Save" it and then install it. The best way in my experience is to just
click on Run, and let the program be installed onto my machine. I have
experienced trouble several times after installing it after first saving
  it
to my hard drive. You will probably get Google Chrome and the Google Tool
Bar installed along with it, but these are easily removed through Programs
and Features. Tell me more about how you acquired the program, and maybe I
can come up with a solution.

well, now I get, Adobe cannot open because of an incompatibility
confirguation of my system, what the heck?
I have had this same system for long time now, I do no know what is the
    problem..
I have only updated to IE 10 recently, the only change in the "system" if
this is the problem, guess I'll be going back to 9.
Unless, this JRE can fix the problem.

      Trish,

Did you uninstall the 10.9 version? If so, do you have the Java Runtime
Environment installed on your computer? Some of these programs require
  it
    to
run normally. It can be found at www.oracle.com/java. Pick the Java JRE
  to
      download.

      I need help please.

I have installed Adobe 11 because when I tried to use Adobe 10.19 I got
  an
      error message saying this..

      Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
      Runtime Error!
      Program: C...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
      unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more
      information.

So now, when I installed 11 and try to open it, it just does nothing, it
shows it's installed in programs/features, but I cannot get the program
  to
      open.

      I am using window's 7 and Jaws 15.
*that error msg was on Adobe 10.19 not on 11

      Thanks,

      Trish
