Man Collins,

I really hate Apples!! I will have to buy one (for my collection) but I hate
them. Mostly due to price
and POS iTunes that keeps wanting to upgrade for the benefit of devices I DON’T
HAVE!!

I think the correct term for the new age is: don't compare apples to androids

I think its going to be a waste of time, trying to educate you,

London is different from Kampala

It has different problems, like population size, social structure and other
things you should know

Please don't compare oranges and apples, no one has said this is going to
prevent crime, I have simply stated, they won't get away easily, by the way,
even those terrorists who hit Kampala, were picked up easily, not all, but most

Because *actual* criminals wouldn't find a way to acquire other people's SIM
cards. Ways such as, oh I don't know, stealing them?

In London, one of the most camera-infested cities in the world, it is estimated
that for every thousandth camera, one person gets convicted thanks to camera
surveillance per year. Yes. One thousand cameras only help to arrest one person
per year. Surveillance is clearly not the solution.

Some 5 years ago, I advocated for sim card registration with bio data,

I didn't stop there, I also advocated for CCTV in several public places, where
thefts of laptops from cars, and other valuables is very rampant

Of course some people might want to hood wink these noble efforts, with their
privacy concerns.

If you don't want to register for a sim card, you can use a public telephone,
or call booth (token or whatever). You don't even have to use a phone, you can
send a letter thru Post Office.

The days of hoodlums using mobile phones, to cheat innocent Ugandans are
numbered

My only concern is if these big projects (seeming simple to implement), will
not become white elephants

The terrorists who killed innocent World Cup revellers, disposed their sim
cards, while coordinating their devious acts. Sim card registration will ensure
these rascals, don't go unpunished. You can live in Utopia, and claim to be a
libertarian, but honestly, the reality is Big Brother is here to stay,
