I feel there is an area MOQ is overlooking by concentration on value
alone. I feel perhaps Pirsig takes it to a subjective tilt by positing
that value comes before subjects and objects and subjects and objects
can be dropped or seperated from value. Subjects and objects do not
cause value. Value does not cause subjects and objects. They are one in
the same.

By renaming value as dynamic quality and subjects and objects as static
quality, Pirsig is placing
the separation between value and subjects and objects, it solves the s/o
dilemma but creates a different
dichotomy, and if one is not careful you may fall into another type of
dualism or worse yet a solopsism.
which by placing value before subjects and objects does. Which then of
course projects the universe as
being a moral universe because now you are in the realm of the
subjective without knowing it. Placing
our values before subjects and objects will reveal a moral universe.
Pirsig takes the lens of SOM
and flips it so instead of a cold objective universe you have a moral
universe full of meaning with
all the trappings of objectivism.
I say subject object and value are one. thoughts?
