Hi, sorry for not answering as yet. It's been a very busy weekend. I
settle Daniel at the breast on my bed usually during the day unless I'm
out and about. I used to settle him on the couch and trasfer to his cot
but now he won't have a bar of that. If I'm out he'll fall asleep in the
car and I have a 50:50 chance of transfering him asleep depending if
Liam wakes him up (which he does sometimes deliberately, sometimes not).
I have trouble getting Dan to sleep sometimes during the day because of
the Liam factor. Sometimes I have to finish feeding him and put my arm
over his little body pinning him down on the mattress so that he will
settle. Otherwise he'll just climb off the bed and go exploring, even
when he is really tired. This approach seems to work okay but he
sometimes gets distressed not being able to move under my weight. I
would rather this though than control crying. If I'm really desparate
I'll put him in my sling and walk around the house or around the block.
Once around the block will usually do the trick in the evenings but not
during the day. Dan is not particularly clingy although it depends if he
is overtired or teething. He likes to be carried a lot but can also play
by himself for long stretches if his brother doesn't attack him. So, I
hope that answers your question.

Cheers,

Cas.

I asked Cas a question (sleep issues) about how she settles her son
Daniel during the day, yet I didn't receive a reply. I was going to
suggest perhaps carrying him for some part of each day so he feels close
and secure. This may help him sleep better at night.
