Let me tell you! There's a Micro Center over in Cambridge. The only time I'm there for Mac stuff is to buy SCSI cables, ribbons for the ImageWriter, etc. Even before the iMac and the demise of the PCI Mac, these folks were less than on the ball when it came to Mac stuff.

Of course, as I use a PCI Mac and OS 9.2.2, the Apple store in Cambridge is also pretty much useless as a resource for me.

The Mac department in the CompUSA store near me (Fairfax, VA) is a joke. It's wonder they manage to keep their authorization.

MicroCenter is much better in terms of Mac related products. For example, they stock a pretty good assortment of Sonnet products. On the other hand there is no dedicated Mac sales person. The PC people work the Mac department once a week on a rotating basis. In listening in on their conversations with customers, you could say their knowledge and enthusiasm for selling Macs varies widely.

Our local Apple Store is a fun place to visit, but you're right. Tell them you prefer OS 9 and their interest fades pretty quickly.
