Hi Sorrel,

Everyone is open to join in the discussion, that is what we are here for!

To answer your questions, I am not sure if my hypercalcemia is symptomatic, I have lower bone density and osteomalacia, but that may be caused by the high cortisol. My docs started testing me for MEN when I first had a high calcium level in 2003. It was repeated and it was even higher. My ionized calcium was also high. My PTH level was low-normal, however. I also had high DHEAs, so they ordered an adrenal MRI which showed an unidentified mass on my left adrenal. I had a history of large ovarian  cysts and in 2004, I had an ovarian tumor. I have been testing for MEN on and off since 2003. My calcium level is climbing higher, so I may have to have my parathyroids checked, soon. I have not had my PTH checked since 2003. I was told that if I have MEN, my only option is multiple surgeries and they want to avoid that as long as possible.

I have been testing for Cushing's since 2002 and recently had high midnight salivary cortisols and high ACTH, so my diagnosis and treatment are that much closer.

What symptoms do you have that are unexplained with a diagnosis of Cushing's? Since I possibly have both Cushing's and MEN, we may have similar symptoms. I have unexplained hormone levels-my calcium should be low with Cushing's. I have several other odd levels that are unexplained. I also have many unexplained symptoms.

I hope and pray that you find your answers, soon. I know how frustrating it is to be undiagnosed. I have been searching for a diagnosis for 3 1/2 years and I have had symptoms for 8.

Take care. You're in my prayers.

Meri
