As I said before the 1.0rc4 is built to play rtsp as RealAudio but I
think the other mplayer is built to play rtsp as Quicktime (live555) and
so cannot play RealAudio.

No - this is because PlayReal wants to play RealAudio and you are giving
it a Quicktime stream which has different RTSP headers.

I said before - stop messing with LMS and the plugin. It is not
compatible just by swapping mplayer - as it stands I don't believe the
stream can be played reliably from a command line.  

Just get a mplayer which plays your stream reliably. When it does, copy
the output after running the mplayer command with the "-v" option on the
stream and attach to a post.  Then a decision can be made on what to
modify in the plugin.
