Big brouhaha down under today.

A fabulous exhibition by Wim Wenders at the Sydney Museum of Contemporary
Art contains a pic, taken in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (Ayre's Rock),
which is in breach of federal regulations. It shows areas that the
traditional owners claim should not be seen by certain people. The
regulations contain a fine of up to $AU55,000.

Personal photography is allowed, but commercial photographers are prohibited
from shooting some subjects in National Parks, the traditional land owners
can impose copyright and usage restrictions, even after granting a permit to
shoot.

Good to see the issue on the front page of the Weekend Australian newspaper.

The ACMP here recently uncovered restrictions on commercial photography on
land controlled by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority. Apparently, I
can't shoot the Bridge / Opera House without making an application.

Do the Druids, (or Normons or Saxons or Angles..who else owned Britain
before you lot?) claim copyright over commercial shots of sacred sites in
the UK?
