If you run a search in the Archives for Graphic Converter, my name will
appear time and again, since I am a firm beleiver on the qualities of this
little app. Unfortunately I tried , to no avail. Some older personal Jpeg
files backed up only on CD are now impossible to open from the CD due to
"corruption" and worse yet, impossible to copy to other media. They are just
lost.

I think Bob Croxford is already responding to it, meaning, we will be forced
to keep updating the storage and archiving formats and media in order to be
able to keep opening our legacy files. Perhaps this will make us more
accurate regarding our editing of our files, in order to minimize the
transference and retain only the relevant files from our beloved
work.Nowadays I am keeping all my RAW's, both my selects and the rejects,
but this may change in the future.

Also, and maybe many would not agree with me on this, I strongly beleive we
may have to keep, as part of our back up, both the software and harware that
is (supposedly) getting outdated as we speak just in case we might need any
of those in the med-long term. A Power PC G3 or G4 machine with OS9, and a
Windows box with Win98, PS 6-7, etc,etc may be part of our back up strategy,
just in case...
