I remember downloading and installing newer ODBC libraries from the
Microsoft site. And these required updates to DCOM also. I didn't
have these specific problems as I remember, but if your getting an
ODBC error, it would be something on the checklist...
I think I got the drivers here:

BF> Hi Guys (and Gals)
BF> I have an error that I can't find in the Protel knowledge database.
BF> When I try to open a ddb, I get the error plaque from windows:
BF> [MICROSFT] [ODBC MICROSOFT ACCESS DRIVER] The microsoft
BF> jet engine stopped the process because you and another are
BF> attempting to
BF> change the same data at the same time.
BF> I am running Protel 99 SE , service pack 5, on windows 98.
BF> I am running standalone. I am tied into a network.
BF> I am the only one here with the software.( I've checked)
BF> I get the same symptom connected to the net or unconnected.
BF> I open Protel, I open a database, ok so far.
BF> I have 4 schematics, and 2 pcbs in this database.
BF> If I open pcb #1, it opens fine.
BF> If I open pcb #2, I get the error.
BF> If I try to load a new set of libraries, I can remove them ok,
BF> buy when I add them, I get the error.
BF> I have rebooted.
BF> I have re-installed Protel.
BF> I have removed all Protel files and Fresh installed, no luck.
BF> I have sent a message to "support", but have not heard anything yet.
BF> Just a curious point, when I called Protel on the phone, I talked to
BF> a
BF> person who told me: "Yeah, we get that all the time, but I don't
BF> know
BF> what it is."
BF> Thanks in advance for any ideas.
BF> Bob Fearon
