John,

I tried disabling the network card through the device manager, but it did
not stop the lockups.

The Network card is a 3Com as well.

Mike.

Mike, the notebook I see the same symptoms on is a Compaq Armada 7800
PII-366MHz machine and it uses a Netgear PCMCIA NIC. I just tried it
with a 3Com PCMCIA NIC and I do not see the problem on same notebook.

Have you tried just disabling the NIC in your HW profile to seee if the
symptoms go away?

BTW if Gary passes your desk ask him to call me.

Best Regards
