I don't believe it was from an auto. The road speed sensor is a mechanical 
cable 
so not that. I will let Peter know what those voltages should be. What voltages 
should there be on the old coil wires, there are wires on the loom adapter that 
connect to those as well, I assume that that is the ignition switched supply to 
the new ecu.

What car is the engine and wiring from ?
Are you sure it's not the road speed sensor connector (fitted onto gearbox 
speedo drive), a 3 pin connector.

The coil should have 12v ignition on the centre pin.
The outer 2 pins will also be 12v but will drop while the engine is running.

The engine wasn't from an automatic was it ?
