For 3 years we shut down for the summer. We never had a problem getting the boys back. Then for 4 consecutive years, we went through the summer. Our numbers drop in the summer due to baseball, family vacations, etc. In fact, last year the SA/B had 2 boys - both pastor's kids. The Pioneers averaged 3 boys a meeting, and it wasn't the same three boys. It was impossible to have any continuity. Besides, I need a break. It has been at this 4 years without a break. I've been in it for 8 years now. If there were sufficient leadership. we could take turns taking a break. If I stay at it and burn out, what good is that?
We will do advancements on Wednesday; however, the boy has to be ready to present it. Also, we'll make some FCF-type sliding chairs.
