Standard paintball markers with manual triggers are semi-automatic (one
shot per per trigger pull without manual recocking). If you activate the
trigger
with a servo or a solenoid you can fire about one shot per second with RC.
This speed would be OK for recoil.

Newer paintball markers have electronic triggers that can fire at much
faster
semi-automatic rates. They can also fire in burst mode (3 or more shots
per
trigger pull) and full automatic mode (machine gun).

Lastly, many of our tankers use automobile door lock actuators to fire
manual
markers. They can get 3 to 7 shots per second. See eBay #230780411788
or page 4 of Steve Tyng's Cromwell T040.

Faster firing rates would not be conducive to simulating recoil.

Some of our tankers use a "Lazy Susan" and some use a central post with
drive wheels. See page 5 of Steve Tyng's Cromwell T040.

Firing the marker does not affect turret rotation.

Although I am not an expert on turrets, I recommend 10 to 30 rpm turret
rotation speed. Faster is better for close range fighting (Steve Tyng's
Cromwell T040) and slower is better for long range snipers (John Pittelli's
Comet T039).

I am probably the worst gunner in the hobby. I will allow others to provide
their input on this topic.

We limit elevation to +10 degrees as a safety precaution to prevent
accidental
head shots to operators at close range.

We truly hope that you can help solve one of our thorniest problems for
newcomers who enter our hobby

Althought Utah is very far from Maryland and England (our two main
battle sites), it would be extremely demonstrative to participate
in a battle. We always have extra assets for visitors to operate.
We expect four or five new tanks to debut this season.

Best wishes,
Joe
