That has certainly been true for me. I have not had as much fun in many years
(and I have had a home layout for all of those years.) The beauty of models is
that you practice every model railroading skill on an area that may be as small
as 12"x30" and see something actually run before starting the next piece!

And although Bill and I have different modular layout preferences, I heartily
agree that joining a modular group is a tonic for flagging interests. If
others
are depending on you to have something ready for the next show, you're far more
likely to "git 'r' done" than if you are building simply for yourself.
