Operations is unto itself it seems.... have been to some wondeful prototypic 
correct layouts where operations was not as important as "round and round" 
running. and then have been at some a little too serious operating sessions 
where it was just like work..... I think there can be a balance of fun and 
operations. remember that real railroads have unexpected delays (deraliments, 
accidents, work stoppages, etc)... 
 
There were 2 articles that come to mind, one Sn3 fellow painted up a 3000 
series narrow gauge box car in the DRGW Cookie Box silver scheme, and had some 
fun with it, and another guy had a Union strike for a session... I believe 
these were both in the RMC magazine...
