Not sure why anyone would be surprised over the swinging pilot from Lionel.  
They have shown it that way in every picture.  Not sticking up for them, just 
saying.

      Appear to be smaller, more in line with what they s/b.  

 

Still amazed over the swiveling steps on the U-boat.   Geeeez.   Have NEVER 

seen that on a 12" to the foot job.  They  MUST have had some reference to 

real locomotives, some where, some body, some  how??????????  Undoubtedly 

easier to produce that way, don't need to  strengthen the car body ends, the 

coil coupler is truck mounted, swings like a  saloon door with the truck. 

 

Paul went to the seminar today, he has been building with us for at least  

10 yrs.  He enjoyed it.  I know some of the ATLAS crew, good  people.   I 

figure I can always learn something, AND should be willing  to do so.  I WILL 

report back.
