Yes, when I was doing O scale I talked to Lionel at 2 trade shows. I asked why 
MTH offered 3/2 locos and had Kadee coupler pads on their rolling stock 
offerings for the past 4-5 years and Lionel didn't.  I gushed about the Lionel 
scale dimension F3 1st, so it wasn't like I wasn't looking for a fight, just 
and honest answer and I go it.

The response I got was "we don't build for the scale market". When I asked why 
not at least offer rolling stock with coupler pads for Kadee's, I got the same 
response. 

So, I hope Lionel does better for the S market than they do for the O market, 
but IMHO they dont' care.
