So, suppose shane never updates Scid : then Scid is a dead project, right ?
Suppose there are  forks (any fork is insane for me in open source 
world), and Shane wants to continue Scid development (in 2007 ? in 2010 
?). What can he do ? Try to catch up and merge projects with different 
names, that followed different paths for months / years ? Not an human task.
My main goal, if authorized to do so by SF staff, is just to change 2004 
to 2007 on Scid web page and update downloadable files. As I said if 
Shane disagrees, that's also a good thing as we will have his position.

But if someone does not update its project for 2 years I don't see how 
he could object to people trying to improve the situation. In commercial 
or open source software, any app not supported or updated for 2 years is 
considered as dead, even it's not fair.
