Re: Mid Tier 7.5 - Default modal window size
John, In the Dev Studio tool menu after you open the form in question, there is a menu called Layout and under that an option that is called something like Actual View Size or View Size (I do not recall the exact sub menu option name). On selecting that, the size borders get visible with a center mark on the bottom and the right side that you could drag in and out to reduce or increase the size of the view.. Hope this helps... A trigger event for fetching a direct DB update
Hi Listers, I have a small problem in hand. This is a very strange case. -I have a regular form to which an entry is created by workflows. -Now this entry has an update happening into its records. But the funny thing is that update is done only to a particular field in the table through a direct UPDATE statement from an external system. This leaves us with no trigger(execute on condition for workflows) to capture this update on the records. I understand that a submit or modify action happens only when the change is triggerred at an API level which in turn is making the DB update. As in my case there is no Remedy intervention and i am not able to capture this event for writing further workflows. Any suggestions guys. Normalization Engine - Categorization Subclass
Whilst testing the import of CIs from ADDM 8.1.01 (Tideway) I noticed that the Normalization Engine (NE) does not process data in two of the classes. Both these classes are categorization subclasses. ADDM 8.1.01 uses the CMDB API so I tested further by creating instances using cmdbdriver. My tests showed that the NE does not process categorization subclass CIs created via the CMDB API but does process them if they are created directly on the relevant BMC.CORE:BMC_... join form. Can anyone confirm this behaviour? It seems like a bug to me! ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug10 www.wwrug.com ARSlist: Where the Answers Are

Hi, I think that only one active outgoing mailbox can be active at any time if the Email Server Name are the same. Which it usually are. To fool the system, you can differentiate the configuration records with aliases. For example: mail.rrr.se mail 192.168.1.123 Or you can edit your local hosts file and add as many aliases you like. Re: A trigger event for fetching a direct DB update
Hi, Change the integration so that it goes through the API-layer. There are many ways to do this: - Write an API-program in C, Java, DotNet, ... - Run a ready made exacutable such as runmacro.exe or the driver-program - Do the update through Web Services - Sen an email to the system with the update - Etc... If the update must go directly to a table, create a staging table instead, and have an escalation poll that table for changes. You can then do a Push-fields from the escalation and update the real record. Best Regards - Misi, RRR AB, http://www.rrr.se Products from RRR Scandinavia: * RRR|License - Not enough Remedy licenses? Hi, This jogged my memory :-) The form is called SHR:ARDBCFields. Check the existing recrords so that you use the correct tag for the various source forms. Re: Mid Tier 7.5 - Default modal window size
John, I believe this is the info your looking for. We had the saem issue when we upgraded. Users were complaining that the default size was too small. The change will be made in the ClientCore.js file. There are separate ClientCore.js files for the browsers supported. They are located in the mid-tier_install\resources\browser\javascript directory. Each ClientCore.js file will need to be updated. Note: Changes to the ClientCore.js file will be overwritten if a patch is applied after the change is made. If you are required to apply a patch to the mid-tier, then you will have to redo the customization of the ClientCore.js files. How to change the size of the popup windows: 1) Locate the following method: CharEditPopup.prototype.init=function(field) 2) In that method (a few lines down) the following line is what sets the pixel size of the width and height of the popup windows: this.SetSize(320,300); 3) The first parameter (320) is the width and the second (300) is the height. They just need to change those numbers to make all the popup's larger. 4) Once the changes are made and saved, the browser cache must be cleared before the changes will be seen in the web-client. Atrium Core 7.6 upgrade failed - RIK command error
Hi, on my dev server, I've been trying to upgrade to atrium core 7.6 but fail. I upgraded ARS from 7.1 to 7.6 midtier is on a separate server and upgraded to a new 64bit linux (why no 32bit support?) and 7.6 midtier i upgraded atrium core to 7.5 hoping to bypass this RIK command error (earlier attempts from 2.1 to 7.6 failed). i had to use a workaround of pausing the installer and removing a arx from the script to finish it. but i upgraded to 7.5 successfully. but when i try to upgrade from atrium core 7.5 to 7.6 i get an error message. the upgrade is taking place on a virtual server with 4gb of ram and 1 cpu. there's 8gb free hard drive space. i do have a license. dev cache mode is on. Our rule is that if the menu is sequential, we won't modify it, but if the numbering is custom we will add odd valued entries (so they won't be affected by upgrades). We have modified that particular menu without issue. You can use a tool like Abydos to track what workflow uses a particular field. I just did this. Start by querying the database for that field id to get an idea of what other forms carry the same field (for example, the HPD:Incident_InterfaceCreate) and may pass (or receive it) from the HPD:Help Desk form. You'll want to make the same changes to all the forms that have a dependency. In my case I was only modifying an existing value so I left alone anything that was not customer facing. Fortunately this is a custom selection field so you can remove/replace/insert values without adversely affecting existing data. -- Chris Danaceau AttivaSoft Solutions Architect From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) on behalf of Martinez, Marcelo A Sent: Wed 6/9/2010 12:20 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Incident Module - Reported Source I have been asked to modify and remove some of the selection attributes for the field Reported Source in Incident Management (ITSM 7.0.03). Importing 6.3 Deff to 7.5 Using 7.5 Dev Studio.
Hi, I need some Clarification on my query, what's the impact of importing forms from 6.3 ARS server to 7.5 ARS server. 1. I would export a form definition created in 6.3 using admin tool and import that to 7.5 server using developer studio. Will there be an impact on the imported form on ARS 7.5 server ever 2. would this create a problem if there is data in that 3. when I was testing this Dev studio gave me a message while importing Definition file does not specify a character set Developer studio will use local machine character set to import what does this means? Basically am checking for the possibility of migrating a couple of forms with work flow which were developed in 6.3 server into 7.5 server without using migratory, but by just definition import and export. Has any one tried this and encountered any issues? Thanks, Prashanth This message is for the designated recipient only and may contain privileged, proprietary, or otherwise private information. Re: Service Request issue
After a lot of digging I found the solution. Turns out access to these templates is controlled by the employee's site value in their people record. Only those with Retail as their site can see these templates. The one template in question had an entitlement record of all which allowed everyone to see it. Once I changed the site location value of the employee in question she was able to view all the retail templates. Thanks for the suggestions. Add or Remove Licenses only showing Floating
Dear List, Some time ago our Remedy sales rep told us that we were entitled to one AR User Floating license on our test server system. So I went into Add or Remove License and increased the number of floating licenses from 0 to 1. Now when I go to Add or Remove License the only license listed is that one Floating license. No Server or Fixed licenses. In our live/production system we can see all the licenses. If I go to Server Information/Licenses I see the Server and Fixed licenses listed, so they haven't disappeared. I tried setting the number of Floating licenses back to 0 and logging in again, but no change. Any idea what is wrong? Re: View Form Error?
Only the following data types are supported in view forms: DB2-varchar, varchar2, char, clob, integer, smallint, real, double SQL Server-char, varchar, tinyint, smallint, int, text, real, float, decimal Oracle(r)-varchar, varchar2, char, clob, number, float Informix-char, varchar, int8, smallint, integer, text, smallfloat, float, decimal Sybase-char, varchar, tinyint, smallint, int, text, real, float, decimal The way I got around this is: I have access to an external database via a SQL View. We will call this view remedy_view 1. On that particular db; rename remedy_view to remedy_view_temp. 2. create a dummy table with the same field names and make the field types ones that Remedy can recognize (see above). Call this table remedy_view 3. Create your view form. 4. Drop the dummy table 5. Rename your remedy_view_temp to remedy_view. Hope this helps. Re: Using Remedy Keyword Constants with ARSPerl Module ars_MergeEntry API
Hi, there are several possibilities to achieve this: - the most reliable method might be to not handle it in your perl script altogether, but instead create a filter on Merge that sets the fields to TIMESTAMP/SERVERTIMESTAMP. - You might use perl's time built-in function: $fldid_geocode_update_date, time(), $fldid_modified_date, time(), Of course this would only give you the current client time. I don't know how important it for you to have the exact server timestamp; in this case you could determine the server time by my %info = ars_GetServerInfo( $ctrl, ARS::AR_SERVER_INFO_SERVER_TIME ); die ars_GetServerInfo(): $ars_errstr if $ars_errstr; my $tdiff = $info{SERVER_TIME} - time(); and then compute the server time by adding a correction term: $fldid_geocode_update_date, time()+$tdiff, $fldid_modified_date, time()+$tdiff, Regards, Thilo Stapff On 10.06.2010 18:44, Anderson Debra (PRN) wrote: ** Hi, I am new to using Remedy Perl ARSPerl Module and am trying to figure out how to pass in values equivalent to $TIMESTAMP$ or $SERVERTIMESTAMP$ keywords to a merge function. Re: Multiple Mail box configuration on 7.1 ARSystem
Yes - OOTB if you configured more then one mailbox at the time of installation. Typically on box is configured then and the additional boxes after installation. If you have only one outgoing mailbox then it is naturally the default. If you create a second out mailbox then you must designate one as the default. In the Notify filter on the Messages Tab if you leave Mailbox Name blank then the default outgoing mailbox is used. I have two outgoing mailboxes one for internal email and one for external (customer) email. I always designate the mailbox in the filter and have about a 60:40 load balance on the threads. Try varchar2 then.. I am not 100% sure if MS-SQL server supports varchar or varchar2 but if varchar doesn't work it has to be the other.. I know for certain nvarchar doesn't work. If varchar2 doesn't work as well, then you probably are addressing the wrong table or view? Is that table or view remote? Or is it local to the AR System database.. Keep getting an ARNOTE 5165 There are no columns in the table. There are plenty of columns in the table and they can be access using the same permission on the physical SQL server. Any suggestions on how to correct this? Thanks. Re: Chrome Browser
Noticed the same thing with Safari and Chrome on Mid Tier 7.0.01. Just upgraded to Mid Tier 7.5 and now both Safari (which is officially compatible) and Chrome (which is not officially compatible) work well. Re: Chrome Browser
That's nuts! I've been using Chrome for 6 months and haven't seen any issues. It's amazingly fast, even with CSS, which bogs down other browsers. It does not, however, tolerate HTML extensions well. As long as your applications use standard HTML 4 and/or standard XHTML 1 -- and are not using extensions offered by IE or Firefox -- there shouldn't be an issue. Check your HTML/XHTML code for standards compatibility at http://validator.w3.org/. Willing to bet that once you solve your standards issues, you'll also solve your Chrome issue. -- Bing Bradford Bingel (Bing) b...@itm3.com (email) 925-260-6394 (mobile) _ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Andrew Fremont Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2010 6:04 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Chrome Browser ** We got Java error with Chrome on MT 7.5 P005 on date/time fields.
