[Audyssey] airic the cleric

2011-06-11 Thread william lomas
hi all according to Jyro airik the cleric should be out in a few hours he
posted to the audio games forum

Hey everyone! It's only a matter of hours from here. The game is being
finalized and prepared. Thanks for waiting. In the games industry, minor push
backs are normal. Assassin's Creed was pushed back by a year, so be glad it was
a little over a week for us. lol. That's a major budget game of course, but
this we still made okay timing.
To let everyone know who was asking. The Mac version has always been scheduled
to release about a week after the Windows version, and the iphone version about
two weeks after that. Sorry for the inconvenience of waiting longer to any iOS
users, but not to worry. This game will give you a fun world to explore.
Full Version 1.0 features higher quality music and sound effects, much more
elaborate world design. And an all new system for finding out how close nearby
objects are.
Full Version 2.0 will feature actual voice acting instead of synth acting, and
new areas and quests. The game is a super improvement from the demo. I hope you
have fun playing!

imagine you'll need to enter that order number you would have gotten a few

well
to be honest tom this was not a problem.

long as I have. I'm sorry, but I personally should have known better
than to let things drag out as long as they have, and like any hot
topic things tended to get out of hand quicker than expected.

For that reason first let's close all the VB 6 topics. Second, to keep
this sort of thing happening again I think I need to talk to Damien
and Kevin about ammending the guidelines banning certain discussions
such as weather the one we just had over weather or not a developer
is right, wrong, or otherwise for using language x. That really
doesn't have a place on a list like this anyway, and the last thing we
need to do is divide our community over issues like this. I think we
all agree we definitely don't want to drive our developers away just
because we can't agree on some technical details etc. With that said
let's get back to gaming, and put this discussion behind us once and
for all.

Cheers!

Hi Michael,

No problem. What exactly do you need help with. Below I have written a
very simple Haunted House game where you walk around a haunted house.
There isn't any combat here, but shows how to initialize a basic game
world and add a few characters to it.

Haunted House by Thomas Ward
The Entry Hall is a room.
North of the Entry Hall is the Main Parlor.
East of the Main Parlor is the Dining Area.
West of the Main Parlor is the Old Library.
The Dusty Attic is above the Main Parlor.
The Spooky Basement is below the main Parlor.
Dracula is a man in the Spooky Basement.
Bats is a animal in the Dusty Attic.
Ghost is a man in the Old Library.
Witch is a woman in the Main Parlor.

[Audyssey] Virtual Machines was from an end user

2011-06-11 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Chris,

Well, at the moment I an currently running Windows 7 in a virtual
machine using VM Ware on top of Ubuntu 11.04. The problem with that
solution is that it is very memory and CPU intensive as Windows 7 eats
nearly a gig of memory in of itself, and ever since Microsoft added
the 3d Windows Arrow interface and better graphics and animations the
op requires a lot of CPU power to run. Running Windows 7 in a virtual
machine is a real performance killer, and running apps in it drags my
laptop down to a crawl. My hope here was be able to get some games
etc to work under Wine so I can just dump Windows completely from my
machine since it is a needeless CPU and memory hog when running.

HTH

2011-06-11 Thread Kelly Sapergia

Hi Michael,

If you want to look at source code for Inform 7 games, or just about any IF
creation system for that matter, I recommend looking on the Interactive
Fiction Archive at www.ifarchive.org/. In the Games/Source folder, there are
subfolders for systems like TADS and Inform. (You may have to look under
ZCode. In that folder is lots of code for both version 6 and 7 games.) You
might also want to look at the Cloak of Darkness page which is for a
simple game that has been ported to various systems. The source code can
either be read online or downloaded, along with the full working game, for
whatever system you select. It can be found at:

Hope this helps.

Hi list.
I am wondering, does anyone know where I can download a copy of the
teraformers audio game?
I bought a copy years back, but the site that used to host it appears to
have abandoned the project, or at least no longer hosts the files.
I was never able to complete the game when I last tried it, mostly because
I lost patients with the awfully slow walking, but I feel like giving it
another go.

Many thanks for any help,

Subject: [Audyssey] looking for terraformers audio game

Hi list.
I am wondering, does anyone know where I can download a copy of the
teraformers audio game?
I bought a copy years back, but the site that used to host it appears to
have abandoned the project, or at least no longer hosts the files.
I was never able to complete the game when I last tried it, mostly
because I lost patients with the awfully slow walking, but I feel like
giving it another go.

Many thanks for any help,
Alex.

[Audyssey] Temporal. Aprone's time traveling strategy game.

2011-06-11 Thread Jeremy Kaldobsky
Hey guys, earlier this week I started working on a little game idea that popped
in to my head at work. To clarify, this is Not! the game I've been developing
with Locutus that will be using head tracking technology. As you all know by
now, I can't keep myself from branching out into other ideas, so I present to
you, yet another side project. Temporal.

The current status of the game is pretty rough. I don't even have any sounds
in it, except for screen reader dialog. The reason I'm posting this game so
early, is because I need to get people's reactions to the game's concept. As
far as I know, no other audio games work like this one, so I don't want to
invest too much time into it until I know people don't hate it, haha!

In Temporal, you awaken in a government facility deep underground. You don't
know how long they have been studying you, but you have been kept in a drug
induced, unconscious state, to prevent you from escaping. Through some type of
mistake, you have awaken. Keeping you unconscious was this facility's first
line of defense against the most powerful human ever to walk the earth. you.
Using your powers, to jump forward and backward through time, you must escape
the lab they have been keeping you in. This game requires you to keep careful
track of what you have already done, as well as planning ahead for what you
intend to still do. Traveling through time means you will share the
environment with all other instances of yourself who were present at that time.
Confusing? If you jump back in time, you may run through a room where a past
version of yourself is busy attacking the guards. When you hold open a door
now, later you will travel back in time
to this point in order to run through it! With everything going on, you must
always be careful not to run into any past versions of yourself, or you will
destroy the continuity of events and lose the game.

I only have 1 mission done, but it should be enough to give you all a good idea
of how the game is played. Please let me know your thoughts.

[Audyssey] Airik the Cleric a scam?

2011-06-11 Thread Bryan Peterson
The subject line pretty much says it all. FOr the record I don't personally
subscribe to that belief and, for the moment at least there only appear to be a
few people who actually do. But since Airik didn't come out in May like Jacob
said it might, those few people have been making their voices heard over on the
audiogames.net forum, expressing the belief that the whole thing is a scam and
this smug satisfaction, which I quite frankly find highly offensive, that they
didn't preorder the game and therefore can laugh at those who did if, by
chance, they turned out to be right. Well Jacob posted on the forum this
morning with a list of additional features that would be in the full game and
an admonishment to people to take differing time zones into consideration when
awaiting their web links to the full version of the game. And apparently people
are checking their Email every five seconds. I'm not quite that bad but almost.
LOL. All I can say for sure is that if there isn't a major update soon the scam
mentality is going to start to really take hold, which of course won't be good
for Jacob if he wants to establish himself in this community. I will of course
eat a few pairs of shorts if, after sending this, I hapen to check my own Email
and find my link to the full game.
We are the Knights who say...Ni!

I've fixed a bug that caused some problems to arise after leaving the menu and
returning to an ongoing game. If you have the time, I do recommend grabbing
the new update. Saved games should still work even after updating the game.

Re: [Audyssey] Temporal. Aprone's time traveling strategy game.

2011-06-11 Thread Jeremy Kaldobsky
This should come as no surprise to anyone who followed Lunimals, but I'm
already posting updates and the game is only about an hour old, lol. There's
no better way to spot bugs, or gather useful suggestions, than to post a game
for everyone to try. If you've already been playing the game, I'd ask that you
once again download the latest version. I've fixed a few reported bugs,
including one that would sometimes fail to report guards in a room if there
were exactly 2. I've added in the suggestion to list other instances of
yourself along with the room description. At any time, remember you can press
C to refresh your messages after loading up a saved game.

Ok guys, the latest update adds keys to quickly jump you to new cells. While
holding shift, you can press A through Z, or 1 through 0. If you only pressed
Shift C, for example, it would take you to cell C-whatever row you were already
on. I've kept the row and column commands separate just to give a little more
freedom with this new tool. Of course you can just hold shift and press G 4,
if you want to jump specifically to that cell. I'm still going through all of
the suggestions people have made, so please don't feel like I have ignored you,
or forgotten about your idea, if you previously posted one.

Re: [Audyssey] Rock Band 3: Grenade expert pro keys GS

2011-06-11 Thread Yohandy
Well, I can certainly try. my question is, do you truly wish to learn?many
people say oh yeah I wanna learn to play, but they don't have the dedication
or patience to actually learn. I won't lie, it'll be hard when you first
start out, even if you start on easier difficulties, due to the fact you
won't be familiar with the game's engine and such. however once you start
figuring out things, you'll notice that your song learning skills are
increasing. all these songs I've been putting up recently aren't
archived,I've actually been learning them then posting on here. I'd say the
average song might take a couple hours for me to learn depending on its
complexity and length of course. but at first it took me a long time.
also, if you don't have the instruments, you won't be able to learn. you
need rock band disc, and either a mic or 3 depending on whether you want to
do harmonies with friends, a guitar or 2, drums, and a keyboard. also you'll
need either a ps3, xbox 360, or wii. Once you have some or all of that stuff
ready, just send me your info and we'll get started! I'd be willing to teach
anyone who wants to learn btw. remember that rock band conference I
mentioned? I still want to do it. however I can't read minds guys, so send
me times when you'll be ready to start and such and I'll be happy to help
out.

Hey Jeremy,
This game is up to your usual standard--quite awesome. I'm just feeling
game withdrawal--I've beaten it and am ready for more! Help! haha

Ok guys, the latest update adds keys to quickly jump you to new cells.
While holding shift, you can press A through Z, or 1 through 0. If you
only pressed Shift C, for example, it would take you to cell C-whatever
row you were already on. I've kept the row and column commands separate
just to give a little more freedom with this new tool. Of course you can
just hold shift and press G 4, if you want to jump specifically to that
cell. I'm still going through all of the suggestions people have made, so
please don't feel like I have ignored you, or forgotten about your idea,
if you previously posted one.

Yes, and once you've added those levels, jump back in time, give the
completed levels to your now self, the one releasing this beta we're seeing

my god this sounds awesome

Hey guys, earlier this week I started working on a little game idea that
popped in to my head at work. To clarify, this is Not! the game I've
been developing with Locutus that will be using head tracking
technology. As you all know by now, I can't keep myself from branching
out into other ideas, so I present to you, yet another side project.
Temporal.

The current status of the game is pretty rough. I don't even have any
sounds in it, except for screen reader dialog. The reason I'm posting
this game so early, is because I need to get people's reactions to the
game's concept. As far as I know, no other audio games work like this
one, so I don't want to invest too much time into it until I know people
don't hate it, haha!

In Temporal, you awaken in a government facility deep underground. You
don't know how long they have been studying you, but you have been kept
in a drug induced, unconscious state, to prevent you from escaping.
Through some type of mistake, you have awaken. Keeping you unconscious
was this facility's first line of defense against the most powerful
human ever to walk the earth. you. Using your powers, to jump forward
and backward through time, you must escape the lab they have been
keeping you in. This game requires you to keep careful track of what
you have already done, as well as planning ahead for what you intend to
still do. Traveling through time means you will share the environment
with all other instances of yourself who were present at that time.
Confusing? If you jump back in time, you may run through a room where a
past version of yourself is busy attacking the guards. When you hold
open a door now, later you will travel back in time
to this point in order to run through it! With everything going on, you
must always be careful not to run into any past versions of yourself, or
you will destroy the continuity of events and lose the game.

I only have 1 mission done, but it should be enough to give you all a
good idea of how the game is played. Please let me know your thoughts.

Re: [Audyssey] Lunimals mission 10

2011-06-11 Thread Steady Goh

Hi Jeremy,
I feel that mission 10 is relatively easier as compared to other missions
and doesn't take long to complete.
Here are some suggestions you might want to consider adding in to make
things more difficult for me.
1. Less control over the visiter. he can visit as and when he feels like,
but if i think it is not the right time then I have to pay to send him off.
and the price gets higher each time.
2. Get tired of eating the same food every meal and request for more
variety.

3. Add disasters.
Anyhow, just give me some worrys about money. If it comes very easily,
anything else won't be a problem.

Once again, thanks for the game.
