The mythical, mysterious beast called the “Chupacabra” may just be real
after all.

The “Chupacabra,” which is a goat-sucker in English, is apparently on the
prowl and ripping animals limb from limb in Texas. The animal, a cross
between dog and wolf, is said to target anything in its sight.

Growing up in New York City, where there’s a substantial Puerto Rican
population, tales of the Chupacabra were often told. I didn’t know whether
to believe the tales or not. I never thought a Chupacabra would be spotted
in these parts. I always thought it was an animal you’d find in the
Caribbean or somewhere down south. According to recent reports, I wasn’t too
far off.

Just a few days ago, two Chupacabras were found and killed by a Texas Animal
Officer near San Antonio. The rancher who reported the sighting told WOAI
that it was the “worst looking animal he’s ever seen.”

Chupacabra sightings aren’t anything new. There have been sightings in South
Florida in the late 90’s and in Northern Texas a few years ago. While many
dispel the myth of these animal exisisting, similar looking ones seem to pop
up every now and then. I guess we’ll have to wait for the tests to come out
which will determine what this “beast” really is.

Following on from our popular Top 10 Conspiracy Theories
 listhttp://listverse.com/miscellaneous/top-10-conspiracy-theories/,
we are now presenting you with another 10. While the theories on this list
may not be as well known as the first list, I think many of them are a lot
more interesting. So, without further ado, another 10 conspiracy theories.

 10. Paul is Dead

“Paul is dead” is an urban legend alleging that Paul McCartney of the
British rock band The Beatles died in 1966 and was replaced by a look-alike
and sound-alike. Evidence for McCartney’s death consists of “clues” found
among the Beatles’ many recordings, most of which are treated as if they
were deliberately placed by The Beatles or others. Literally hundreds have
been cited at various times by various people. They include statements
allegedly heard when a song is played backwards, symbolism found in obscure
lyrics, and ambiguous imagery on album covers. A few of them are well known,
such as the fact that McCartney is the only barefooted Beatle and is out of
step with the others on the cover of Abbey Road.

 9. Pan Am Flight 103

Pan Am Flight 103 was Pan American World Airways’ third daily scheduled
transatlantic flight from London’s Heathrow International Airport to New
York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. On Wednesday December 21,
1988, the aircraft flying this route—a Boeing 747-121 named Clipper Maid of
the Seas—was destroyed by a bomb. The remains landed in and around the town
of Lockerbie in southern Scotland. A theory for which no evidence has been
produced suggests that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had set up
a protected drug route from Europe to the United States—allegedly called
Operation Corea—which allowed Syrian drug dealers, led by Monzer al-Kassar
(who was involved with Oliver North in the Iran-Contra scandal) to ship
heroin to the U.S. using Pan Am flights, in exchange for intelligence on
Palestinian groups based in Syria. The CIA allegedly protected the suitcases
containing the drugs and made sure they were not searched. On the day of the
bombing, as the theory goes, terrorists exchanged suitcases: one with drugs
for one with a bomb. Another version of this theory is that the CIA knew in
advance this exchange would take place, but let it happen anyway, because
the protected drugs route was a rogue operation, and the American
intelligence officers on PA 103 – Matthew Gannon and Maj. Charles McKee –
had found out about it, and were on their way to Washington to tell their
 superiors.

 8. Peak Oil is a Lie

There are theories that the “Peak Oil” concept is a fraud concocted by
 the oil
 industrieshttp://listverse.com/2008/02/18/another-10-conspiracy-theories/#to
increase prices amid concerns about future supplies. The oil industry
supposedly is aware of vast reserves of untapped oil, but does not utilize
them, so that they can maintain the illusion of artificial scarcity.
Parallels are drawn between this and the diamond industry, where it is
recognized that a monopoly cabal maintain an illusion of artificial scarcity
of diamonds, in order to increase their value.

 7. AIDS is Manmade

There are claims that AIDS is a man-made disease (i.e. created by
scientists in a laboratory). Some of these theories allege that HIV was
created by a conspiratorial group or by a secretive agency such as the CIA.
It is thought to have been created as a tool of genocide and/or population
control. Other theories suggest that the virus was created as an experiment
 in biological and/or

 Another 10 Conspiracy Theories

A few of them are well
 known,
such as the fact that McCartney is the only barefooted Beatle and is out of
step with the others on the cover of Abbey Road.

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had set
 up
a protected drug route from Europe to the United States—allegedly called
Operation Corea—which allowed Syrian drug dealers, led by Monzer al-Kassar
(who was involved with Oliver North in the Iran-Contra scandal) to ship
heroin to the U.S. using Pan Am flights, in exchange for intelligence on
Palestinian groups based in Syria. The CIA allegedly protected the
 suitcases
containing the drugs and made sure they were not searched. On the day of
 the
bombing, as the theory goes, terrorists exchanged suitcases: one with drugs
for one with a bomb.

Parallels are drawn between this and the diamond industry, where it is
recognized that a monopoly cabal maintain an illusion of artificial
 scarcity
of diamonds, in order to increase their value.

 7. AIDS is Manmade

There are claims that AIDS is a man-made disease (i.e. created by
scientists in a laboratory). Some of these theories allege that HIV was
created by a conspiratorial group or by a secretive agency such as the CIA.
It is thought to have been created as a tool of genocide and/or population
 control.

To this genius, Brent, I ask this.

Why, in the entirety of human history, hasn't there been a bad hair day,
when gravity kicks out and sends thousands soaring off into space?

Maybe, MAYBE, in a hundred years or so, something may walk in the door to
support this hare-brained chicanery. I haven't been involved in the physics
community for close to fifteen years, and it's stuff like this that makes me
happy that I estranged myself.

straight and eliminate nature’s options. Forget curved space or the spooky
attraction at a distance described by Isaac Newton’s equations well enough

simply a byproduct of nature’s propensity to maximize disorder.'

Following on from our popular Top 10 Conspiracy Theories
 listhttp://listverse.com/miscellaneous/top-10-conspiracy-theories/,
we are now presenting you with another 10. While the theories on this list
may not be as well known as the first list, I think many of them are a lot
more interesting. So, without further ado, another 10 conspiracy theories.

 10. Paul is Dead

“Paul is dead” is an urban legend alleging that Paul McCartney of the
British rock band The Beatles died in 1966 and was replaced by a
 look-alike
and sound-alike. Evidence for McCartney’s death consists of “clues” found
among the Beatles’ many recordings, most of which are treated as if they
were deliberately placed by The Beatles or others. Literally hundreds have
been cited at various times by various people. They include statements
allegedly heard when a song is played backwards, symbolism found in
 obscure
lyrics, and ambiguous imagery on album covers. A few of them are well
 known,
such as the fact that McCartney is the only barefooted Beatle and is out
 of
step with the others on the cover of Abbey Road.

 9. Pan Am Flight 103

Pan Am Flight 103 was Pan American World Airways’ third daily scheduled
transatlantic flight from London’s Heathrow International Airport to New
York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. On Wednesday December 21,
1988, the aircraft flying this route—a Boeing 747-121 named Clipper Maid
 of
the Seas—was destroyed by a bomb. The remains landed in and around the
 town
of Lockerbie in southern Scotland. A theory for which no evidence has been
produced suggests that the U.S.
On the day of
 the
bombing, as the theory goes, terrorists exchanged suitcases: one with
 drugs
for one with a bomb. Another version of this theory is that the CIA knew
 in
advance this exchange would take place, but let it happen anyway, because
the protected drugs route was a rogue operation, and the American
intelligence officers on PA 103 – Matthew Gannon and Maj. Charles McKee –
had found out about it, and were on their way to Washington to tell their
 superiors.

 8. Peak Oil is a Lie

There are theories that the “Peak Oil” concept is a fraud concocted by
 the oil
 industrieshttp://listverse.com/2008/02/18/another-10-conspiracy-theories/#to
increase prices amid concerns about future supplies. The oil industry
supposedly is aware of vast reserves of untapped oil, but does not utilize
them, so that they can maintain the illusion of artificial scarcity.
Parallels are drawn between this and the diamond industry, where it is
recognized that a monopoly cabal maintain an illusion of artificial
 scarcity
of diamonds, in order to increase their value.

that it doesn't have a built in antenna for radio reception. The device
 must
have headphones, which function as the antenna. The problem is, that makes
it very sensitive to positioning, so that I sometimes find myself fiddling
with the position of the headphone cord to strengthen signals for weaker
stations. Reminds me of the days when we had to keep adjusting the rabbit
ears for the old TVs. Why Apple couldn't have lined the inside of the
 iPod
with a flat antenna, and then let the headphones *add* their strength to
that, is beyond me. I know there's room inside for that. I guess it's cost
control, but in this one aspect, it was poor design. So I wouldn't be
surprised if there's a design issue with the iPhone 4 antenna, and not
 just
the simple software glitch they keep putting forth as the cause.

I didn't initially see why anyone would hold a phone by the bottom like
that to lose signal strength, until Sunday, when I was running an errand
with my niece. That's how she texts, so I figure that's how all of the

When I first heard the legends, I didn't know what to think. But when I see
the pictures, they all look like some damaged versions of regular animals.
I've seen dogs turn blue like that when they've lost their fur. I imagine
other canines might too.

What do you all think?

According to recent reports, I wasn’t too
 far off.

Just a few days ago, two Chupacabras were found and killed by a Texas
Animal Officer near San Antonio. The rancher who reported the sighting told
WOAI that it was the “worst looking animal he’s ever seen.”

Chupacabra sightings aren’t anything new. There have been sightings in
South Florida in the late 90’s and in Northern Texas a few years ago. While
many dispel the myth of these animal exisisting, similar looking ones seem
to pop up every now and then. I guess we’ll have to wait for the tests to
come out which will determine what this “beast” really is.

[scifinoir2] Why President Obama loses by winning

2010-07-16 Thread Kelwyn
Thursday's passage of financial reform, just a couple months after the passage
of a comprehensive health care overhaul, should decisively end the narrative
that President Barack Obama represents a Jimmy Carter-style case of naive hope
crushed by the inability to master Washington.

Yet the mystery remains: Having moved swiftly toward achieving the very policy
objectives he promised voters as a candidate, Obama is still widely perceived
as flirting with a failed presidency.

[scifinoir2] Dwayne McDuffie: Maker of Heroes

2010-07-16 Thread Kelwyn
http://michigantoday.umich.edu/2010/07/story.php?id=7791

I like writing. I like telling stories. I love comics a crazy amount—it's so
much fun. It's a labor of love, but it doesn't really pay that much. I enjoy
writing for animation, but it takes a lot of time and it's a real job,
explained McDuffie, who has undergraduate and graduate degrees in English and
physics, respectively, from the University of Michigan. Being a TV writer is
like having homework for the rest of your life; you always owe somebody
something. Very few evenings are yours.

A degree in English AND physics? Wow. Scared of him!

[scifinoir2] Re: Why President Obama loses by winning

2010-07-16 Thread Kelwyn
This is the real reason President Obama can't win for losing:

In what would surprise media critics outside Washington, many reporters don't
much like Obama or his gang, either. They accurately perceive the contempt with
which they are held by his White House, an attitude that undoubtedly flows from
the top.

The press has no business insinuating itself into the political discourse.
They hated both Jimmy Carter and Al Gore and America payed the price with
Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.

I shudder to think what Republican gargoyle is on the horizon and will be
enabled by our thin-skinned press.

I believe that there are a bunch of species on this continent that has yet
to be discovered, but I think that the picture of the head that the lady is
holding makes it look fake. It could be something like a South American
Dingo.

The dog that was shot in the video looks like a mutt with mange. They
probably became nocturnal because the sun burnt their skin.

The mythical, mysterious beast called the “Chupacabra” may just be real
 after all.

The “Chupacabra,” which is a goat-sucker in English, is apparently on the
prowl and ripping animals limb from limb in Texas. The animal, a cross
between dog and wolf, is said to target anything in its sight.

 videohttp://www.woai.com/news/local/story/Chupacabras-Mysterious-creatures-killed-in-Texas/YMYc1PyfZ0imSLKAP7IX4w.cspx

According to recent reports, I wasn’t too

[Mild Spoilers] I really enjoyed the Eureka premiere. The move back to the
founding days of Eureka was cool. Nice to see the doctor (Baltar from BSG) who
was the driving force of the early days. And I love a show where there are
consequences that last for a time. Ought to be fun to see how the timeline's
been changed. The obvious affection between Carter and Allison was nice, but
I'd really prefer they put him with Tess. I hope that actress is brought back
as his real love interest once the timeline is fixed. And Henry's been stag for
too damn long after they unfortunately killed off his true love. Let that

I've loved the commercials for Eureka, such as the one showing the nerdy dude
as a Terminator, standing in the buff trying to look menacing, or the ones that
show Carter and companies in a 40s era noir setting. Not sure about haven
yet. Looks okay, but not sure what makes it so much better than shows they've

Syfy's all-new one-hour drama series Haven , starring Emily Rose ( Jericho ,
Brothers and Sisters ) is based on the novella The Colorado Kid from renowned
author Stephen King. The series follows the shrewd and confident FBI agent
Audrey Parker (Rose) who has a lost past, and arrives in the small town of
Haven, Maine on a routine case. Before long, her natural curiosity lands her in
the epicenter of activity in this curious enclave, which turns out to be a
longtime refuge for people that are affected by a range of supernatural
afflictions.

As the townspeople's dormant abilities begin to express themselves, Audrey
helps keep these forces at bay while discovering the many secrets of Haven —
including one surrounding her own surprising connections to this extraordinary
place.

The impressive creative team behind Haven includes showrunner Scott Shepherd (
Tru Calling , The Dead Zone ) who is joined by E1 Entertainment's John
Morayniss ( Hung , Copper ) Noreen Halpern ( Hung , Copper ), Laszlo Barna (
The Bridge ) and Michael Rosenberg ( Hung , The Riches ) as well as his
partners, Executive Producers Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller ( The Dead Zone ,

Re: [scifinoir2] Warehouse 13 New Season Starts Tonight

2010-07-16 Thread Keith Johnson
Same here, Martin. The flashback that started with McPherson using the Phoenix artifact made sense in his desperation at that moment. But they didn't do a good job of going from that moment to the murderous man he became. It was almost like one of the bad comic books where the genesis of a super villains isn't sufficient for the evil person he or she becomes. I also thought McPherson's "death" (you never know with this show) was a bit too abbreviated. "Sorry Arthur", and then he's dead. One question I had. When Artie was about to be immolated, he used the Phoenix artifact to protect himself. That resulted in Mrs. Frederic's bodyguard dying. What confused me was, Artie never seemed to really deal with the fact that his using the device killed an innocent man. I also couldn't tell if he intentionally used it. They said McPherson put it in is pocket and set him up on purpose, evidently in order to start Artie down the path of cynicism and evil he was following. But, did Artie knowingly use it, or was it a reflex? If the former, we got little in the way of regret about what he did.- Original Message -From: "Martin Baxter" martinbaxt...@gmail.comTo: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.comSent: Wednesday, July 7, 2010 6:23:58 AMSubject: Re: [scifinoir2] "Warehouse 13" New Season Starts Tonight

Keith, right off the bat, LOVED the season premiere of "Warehouse 13". Didn't really feel the MacPherson-as-villain arc, as he seemed too Snidely Whiplash-like for believability. But the introduction of H.G. Wells as a villain... that's got teeth. Though I was surprised to see -- well, *someone* return I didn't expect to return. (Don't want to spoil for those who haven't watched.) And it had a tight storyline that held my attention... I'm staying.
As for "Vlad the Impaler vs Sun Tzu"... the less said the better. On Tue, Jul 6, 2010 at 7:22 PM, Keith Johnson keithbjohn...@comcast.net wrote:

The production team includes veterans of "Burn Notice", "Monk", "The Dresden Files", "Rescue Me", and the great short lived TV series "The Book of Daniel". If you never saw that one, it's about a priest who brings a decidedly modern twist to his church, including letting his congregation pray to God as "Our Father and Mother". The guy is seeking and searching and looking for new truths. Of course the show was canceled. And quite a lot to watch on TV tonight in addition to this: "Hawthorne", "Memphis Beat", and two eps of "The Deadliest Warrior", including a rerun from last week pitting Vlad the Impaler against Sun Tzu

Right, which is why I kinda wish they'd take the time to get it right and do it

From what I've read in the trade magazines they don't have a selection of
pro-level 3d cameras yet. There are only 2 types of 3d camera available right
now. 2 similar cameras bolted together or a weird lens system. The companies
that make pro level cameras just recently perfected high res cameras last
year. (there are also format issues such as 4.2.2 vs 4.4.4, RED etc.) Then
Avatar came along and now everyone wants to shoot in 3d which produces a whole
new set of problems (like proper focus of a stereo image) they will be kind of
re-inventing the wheel with 3d unless everything is done in CGI. Which is why
most directors haven't made the leap yet. Also, the pricing for the cameras is
huge right now.

The point that they have to insert CGI/digital footage, making the film less

Subject: [scifinoir2] Article: How FX Studios Turn 2D Movies to 3D Moneymakers

It was once believed that 3D filmmaking was something of a dark art, composed
entirely of witchcraft and a lock of James Cameron's hair. These days, however,
we know better — there's a complicated lunar cycle involved too. And a little
something called dimensionalization . In an interview with Studio Daily, visual
effects studio In-Three discussed the powerful technology responsible for
bringing 2D films into the third dimension -- and its more complicated than you
might think.

Features like Avatar are filmed with stereoscopic 3D equipment, but not every
production is so fortunate; many films are recorded in 2D only to be converted
to 3D in post-production. With dimensionalization, In-three takes this flat
footage, and breaks down each scene into its core components. This includes the
foreground, background and key objects or actors. With the company's in-house
software, artists arrange the pieces, tweak for depth, and ultimately create
the 3D effect viewed in theaters.

As a result, In-Three's Matthew DeJohn explains that the process turns a
conventional piece of film into an entirely digital work. Where holes are
present, footage is augmented or filled with CGI, the goal being to fool the
brain into thinking it’s real 3D. While this can present certain challenges
compared to film shot in stereoscopic, it does have its advantages. Because
dimensionalization is a post process, you get more artistic control compared to
shooting [in stereo], says DeJohn. We can go in and make specific choices and
use the available depth budget to its best advantage.

The process is time consuming, however, and involves between 300 and 400
artists for an 120-minute feature -- at close to $100,000 per minute. But now
that films like Alice in Wonderland have pushed the process to the mainstream,
it might not be long before some of our old favorites are given the 3D
treatment too.

Mythical
Chupacabra

The mythical, mysterious beast called the “Chupacabra” may just be real after
all.

The “Chupacabra,” which is a goat-sucker in English, is apparently on the prowl
and ripping animals limb from limb in Texas. The animal, a cross between dog
and wolf, is said to target anything in its sight.

Growing up in New York City, where there’s a substantial Puerto Rican
population, tales of the Chupacabra were often told. I didn’t know whether to
believe the tales or not. I never thought a Chupacabra would be spotted in
these parts. I always thought it was an animal you’d find in the Caribbean or
somewhere down south. According to recent reports, I wasn’t too far off.

Just a few days ago, two Chupacabras were found and killed by a Texas Animal
Officer near San Antonio. The rancher who reported the sighting told WOAI that
it was the “worst looking animal he’s ever seen.”

Chupacabra sightings aren’t anything new. There have been sightings in South
Florida in the late 90’s and in Northern Texas a few years ago. While many
dispel the myth of these animal exisisting, similar looking ones seem to pop up
every now and then. I guess we’ll have to wait for the tests to come out which
will determine what this “beast” really is. Click here to view photos:

Re: [scifinoir2] It's official: 'Thor' and 'Captain America' will be 3-D films

2010-07-16 Thread Mr. Worf
There aren't any true 3d cameras available yet. Only dual HD cameras (side
by side) or the ones with the lens configuration. No one has released a
single or double lens single unit camera yet. They basically overlay two
streams of video to get the 3d effect but true 3d doesn't exist yet.

Also, shooting the film will create new problems such as lighting issues,
picture clarity, blur problems etc. Then editing would also be a nightmare
as well because the software to do it doesn't exist yet either.

Right, which is why I kinda wish they'd take the time to get it right and

seems though, from this article, that the director has access to true 3D
cameras, but simply finds the process too cumbersome and complex?

From what I've read in the trade magazines they don't have a selection of
pro-level 3d cameras yet. There are only 2 types of 3d camera available
right now. 2 similar cameras bolted together or a weird lens system. The
companies that make pro level cameras just recently perfected high res
cameras last year. (there are also format issues such as 4.2.2 vs 4.4.4, RED
etc.) Then Avatar came along and now everyone wants to shoot in 3d which
produces a whole new set of problems (like proper focus of a stereo image)
they will be kind of re-inventing the wheel with 3d unless everything is
done in CGI. Which is why most directors haven't made the leap yet. Also,
the pricing for the cameras is huge right now.

conversion route. But isn't it better to do it completely in 3D from the
start, the way Cameron did? This half-a$$ system is more irritating than the
 nigh-irrational move to 3D itself.

And dude, one thing from the article: David Tennant as a possible Bruce
Banner? That would be freaking awesome, almost as much as Jackie Earle Haley
in the role! I just don't see Nathan Filian--way too big and macho.

The mythical, mysterious beast called the “Chupacabra” may just be real
 after all.

The “Chupacabra,” which is a goat-sucker in English, is apparently on the
prowl and ripping animals limb from limb in Texas. The animal, a cross
between dog and wolf, is said to target anything in its sight.

 videohttp://www.woai.com/news/local/story/Chupacabras-Mysterious-creatures-killed-in-Texas/YMYc1PyfZ0imSLKAP7IX4w.cspx

According to recent reports, I wasn’t too

Re: [scifinoir2] Article: How FX Studios Turn 2D Movies to 3D Moneymakers

2010-07-16 Thread Mr. Worf
I think that is the way it was supposed to be in the beginning. Then after
movies like the Matrix, SIn City, and 300 they broadened their thinking.
There were some people talking about making greenscreen only films. The
thing that stopped it was the cost of doing it. Its easy for a computer to
create 3d scenes but it is difficult to make it look realistic. I think that
they will find a happy medium somewhere.

In the video game industry there are some games that have incredible detail
in 3d but they have hundreds of people to work on stuff like that. Hollywood
will need to create a software division that is similar to the art houses
that Disney had to do 3d work instead of outsourcing it. ILM does great work
but they can't possibly do every movie that comes along especially if the
entire industry is expected to do everything in 3d.

The good thing is that it is creating jobs for new artists.

Subject: [scifinoir2] Article: How FX Studios Turn 2D Movies to 3D
 Moneymakers

It was once believed that 3D filmmaking was something of a dark art,
composed entirely of witchcraft and a lock of James Cameron's hair. These
days, however, we know better — there's a complicated lunar cycle involved
too. And a little something called
 dimensionalizationhttp://www.dcinematoday.com/dc/PR.aspx?newsID=204.
 In an
 interviewhttp://www.studiodaily.com/main/news/headlines/In-Three-on-the-Workflow-Behind-3D-Conversions_12083.htmlwith
  Studio Daily, visual effects studio
In-Three http://www.in-three.com/ discussed the powerful technology
responsible for bringing 2D films into the third dimension -- and its more
 complicated than you might think.

 Features like Avatar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar_%282009_film%29are
 filmed with stereoscopic
3D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereoscopic_3d equipment, but not every
production is so fortunate; many films are recorded in 2D only to be
converted to 3D in post-production. With dimensionalization, In-three takes
this flat footage, and breaks down each scene into its core components.
This includes the foreground, background and key objects or actors. With the
company's in-house software, artists arrange the pieces, tweak for depth,
and ultimately create the 3D effect viewed in theaters.

As a result, In-Three's Matthew DeJohn explains that the process turns a
conventional piece of film into an entirely digital work. Where holes are
present, footage is augmented or filled with CGI, the goal being to fool
the brain into thinking it’s real 3D. While this can present certain
challenges compared to film shot in stereoscopic, it does have its
advantages. Because dimensionalization is a post process, you get more
artistic control compared to shooting [in stereo], says DeJohn. We can go
in and make specific choices and use the available depth budget to its best
 advantage.
The process is time consuming, however, and involves between 300 and 400
artists for an 120-minute feature -- at close to $100,000 per minute. But
 now that films like *
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Wonderland_%282010_film%29** Alice
in Wonderland* have pushed the process to the mainstream, it might not be
long before some of our old
 favoriteshttp://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2010/jan/28/star-wars-george-lucas-avatarare
  given the 3D treatment too.

I need to be the lady who says the nipples in the Batman suit did not get me to

Remember the nipples on the Batman suit? That was something very subtle but
according to Hollywood that attracted more women to see the movie. The Green
Latern suit is similar to that.

Gotta attract the ladies to the movie I guess... I'm not liking it either.

The buzz for next summer's blockbuster-in-the-making reached a fever pitch this
week when photos of Reynolds as Green Lantern emerged -- particularly the one
that graces the cover of the July 23 issue of Entertainment Weekly. At first
glance, even a casual fan might notice that Reynolds's costume has a painted-on
look. That's because it is digitally painted onto the actor's body.

Re: [scifinoir2] Hal Jordan's painted on super suit

2010-07-16 Thread George Arterberry
What's the problem here? GL never wore a costume per se.I  thought the ring
manipulated matter, just converted what he was wearing into the GL uniform.
He
never  jumped in a phone booth , stripped and then flew off to Oa in another
galaxy.

To escape camp status the space scenes must have its CGI on point. I just hope
there are no gigantic boxing gloves and the like.

I need to be the lady who says the nipples in the Batman suit did not get me to
the theater. But I also didn't think it was a subtle touch. It was the first
thing I noticed when I saw the suit. Friends and I immediately started joking
about the fetish Batman.

I hope that's not the thinking behind the Green Lantern suit.
