I agree with both the proposals. i.e :

1) Anticipate the end of life of the release branch 13.07 at now; we would
not issue the fourth release as initially planned.

2) Once stabilized, backport to 14.12 and 15.12 all the changes required to
build the system and download its dependencies with Gradle.

Hi Murali,

Sessions between two web applications cannot be shared and this is done by
design for security reasons. This is part of Apache server specification
and not specific to OFBiz. In OFBiz, when web app is changed and  you use
externalLoginKey as a parameter and send it in URL , new session is not
created and same userLogin is used.

Now talking about saveLastView in OFBiz, I think it is not currently
supported that you can save last view among multiple web-applications. I
have not looked much into the code, but you can try using externalLoginKey
and see if saveLastView works. If it works, you will also have to make sure
that request which you want to save exists in both (the one in which you
are using and the other to which you navigated) the  web applications.

Not sure which is better approach. But definitely GPS and mobile taking can
be achieved using Apache Cordova plugins if you go with  mobile web (HTML5)
or you can say hybrid app approach.

What do you mean by :

Yes business process is making much more sense now. Now to answer your
question, OFBiz does not supports this work flow Out of the box. When you
pack item and ship it, items are issued and inventory counts are reduced.
Now if you would like to process shipping and still you would like to
maintain inventory, you will have to do customizations. To give some clue
here, In OFBiz how products should be fulfilled is decided by type of
Product. You can define new product type and make customizations in
fulfillment process based on this new product type.




 Here is another possibility:

 1) Ship product one from 'main facility
 2) Transfer product two over to 'second' facility
 3) Ship product two from 'second' facility as it gets sold by our client

 Is that possible?



I guess this approach is better than above one. To answer your question
again, this is not some thing which is supported out of the box in OFBiz.
You will have to do customizations here as well. But I guess going this
route is better approach. What you can do is create new productType here as
well and when order for this product is placed, you create one workEffort
(task for warehouse person). This task is for transferring inventory
product two over to second facility.  Once inventory transfer is complete ,
you mark task as resolved and order should get marked completed after this
process. But you will have to do coding for this. This is just one approach
, there can be better solutions as well.

Once product is transferred to second facility, you follow general
fulfillment workflow, when item is actually sold.



 It would be much easier if it were two separate orders. However, the client
 places this a single order.


OFBiz allows to take orders of different products types in single order
.For example you can take digital item and finished good in single order
and fulfillment work flow is different for both the products. One all items
are fulfilled, order will be marked completed.

Also I guess you can put 0 in quantity field and give greater than or
equal to in condition of your rule. In that way you can avoid quantity and
then promotion will work for every product.

 will be more than please they chose Ofbiz.

Hi Dhiraj. Tally is not web based software. Its a desktop software.  So you 
cannot integrate it. What you can do it you can export excel or whatever files 
Tally accepts and import it to Tallly.

unless we procure materials. 


 - I was hoping the production run to run at the scheduled time;

Yes you have to configure job scheduler to achieve this.

I would say Product Store group is preferable. Its because you will have to 
only prepare data and OOTB code will support rest of the things for you. i.e to 
manage multiple prices of product for multiple product stores.

You can do a trick to handle this:

Its genericContentPermission service which executes, when you use 
/content/control/stream?contentId.  So you write SECA rule in your component on 
service genericContentPermission:

Rule should be: When ever genericContentPermission runs, your new custom 
service should run as action service. This new service will implement 
permissionInterface in service definition. And in implementation you may add 
your rules to return hasPermission = true or you may directly return 
hasPermission = true . 

Your seca rule will look like this:

2) and create new ProductStoreGroup
3) Create new ProductStore and give id of ProductStoreGroup created above. i.e 
associate with above created ProductStore

Then create your Product and Product Price data. Now ProductPrice entity have 
productStoreGroupId. Give above created productStoreGroupId here. Create 
multiple ProductPrice data for each Product Store group to  maintain multiple 
prices.

I didn't got what you mean by term recommendation engine here. But as per my 
understanding, I would say OFBiz e-commerce has features to recommend users buy 
products based on :

1) largest selling product in site on in particular category
2) Cross sell products ( complementary products are presented to a customer 
after the customer has demonstrated a desire and willingness to purchase a 
particular product )
3) Up sell products (An up-sell offer is typically for a better version of the 
same product or service you are considering)
4) Most viewed product or service

Also we can add more recommendation criteria 


   Can the OfBiz-based e-commerce web site be presented by browsers of
   smart phones  ? How hard would it be to enable it ?

Yes it can be, HTML should be  styling should be written accordingly. 
   Changing search/recommendations of OfBiz to be based on the requirements
   of the customer

None of the question is out of context Vadim .  All the questions make sense 
and one would like to see in E-commerce site. And OFBiz is exactly what you 
need. 

But I would say, to achieve all your requirement and use OFBiz OOTB feature is  
difficult for newbie . So its recommended to get consulting from experienced 
person or team. Or get training to start in house development.  Or subcontract 
your work.

between TaxAuthority, TaxAuthorityAssoc, TaxAuthorityRateProduct which 
will help you to set up the data. Also we use taxAuthorityRateTypeId = 
SALES_TAX for sales order.

in payment.properties or in PaymentGatewayCyberSource entity.

By doing this, auth and transaction will be done in single transaction.

ccAuthCapture Java method in AIMPaymentServices.java will do your work.
Here, transType parameter, is set to AUTH_CAPTURE, which does 
auth+capture in single transaction.

 How to access the createPerson service by passing the required
parameters to the simple-method in the form of a Map object, but the data is
not comming from the request. But it comes from the Map that is passed. Is
it possible to access the services without using http?

Hello all,

Can any one please tell me the exact scenario when, 
refundBillingAccountPayment service is called. I am trying to generate 
this situation by :


1) Creating a sales order by choosing a payment method = Billing Account

2) Then I am completing this order and making return for it. Return type 
= Refund


3) And then I receive this return. Here I expect 
refundBillingAccountPayment service to run.


If some one knows  the exact purpose of this service then please share 
it with me. I can dig into the code and understand this, but it may take 
time. It will be great if some one has already worked for it  and share 
his experience, which will help to save bit time of mine.

Hi Rohit,

For your information no changes are made in upsShipmentConfirm service 
of UpsService.java , which can create a problem. Only one  Util Package 
HashMap is been removed which was not used any where in that service. 
Yes, new service are added in that file. Refer Commit: 780582 for more 
details.


I think one of your element's value is missing when 
ShipmentConfirmRequest XML document is prepared.  Putting  log messages  
will help you to find  exact  element which is missing.


As I believe and observed that all of the functionalities  are well 
tested by the Commiter when they check in the code. And they understand 
their responsibility more than you and me.
It may happen that few things get break, but I also believe that 
Commiters are not God. And those issues can be sorted out by community 
efforts.


Its just my thought and not in anyway to point you. ;-)

potential issue. It's basically a retrospective code review that will 
take a lot of effort, and carries it's own risks of introducing new 
problems.


Generally code quality gets looked at when someone is working on a file.

Don't take it personally on this post but I suspect you won't get 
someone jumping in and adding/removing a speculative 'if' wrapper as 
you are indirectly asking for quite a lot.


On the other hand if you read the code and can produce a test case 
that triggers a null pointer exception on line 380

After more testing I found that messageId is saved in CommunicationEvent 
only when I send mails through Party Component. But when I send mail 
through Marketing component using Contact list feature, then messageId 
is not saved in CommunicationEvent entity.

Re: ant clean-all is not working

I also found the same behavior. This is because in revision no. 773114, 
Jacques added patch of captcha file to delete from tempfiles. So while 
running ant clean-all it looks for captcha foleder. And as you said 
parimal capthcha folder is not present in tempfiles. I hope Jacques can 
help us in this.

templates (ftl files). In my ftl files, I have used *@ofbizUrl* and 
*@ofbizContentUrl*. But they are not working according to the desired 
behavior. I have also used *Uilabels *in my ftl files but they are not 
rendering the desired values.


Please suggest me whether I am missing some thing or this features does 
not work when we use them with CMS.

Hello Jack,

As it is mentioned in the very first comment that this JavaMail Listener 
Container triggers MCA (Mail condition Action) rules. Presently there is 
only one MCA rule in mca.xml. *storeIncomingEmail* service is triggered 
and this stores all the incoming mail.


You can also trace storeIncomingEmail service in 
CommunicationEventServices.java for more details. So eventually for now 
by uncommenting this code one can store incoming mails, received on 
email which is configure in General.Properties.


But its major purpose is to trigger MCA rules. Please let me know if you 
need any more help.

 Actually  when I try to do XML data export from webtools then 
I did not get supposed result. Steps which I followed:

1) Checked required Entities

2) Specified Output Directory name and file name as well

3) Depressed on Export

Result : Wrote numbers records in to XML file filename
But when  I check these records in my Desktop, I could not fine them. Is 
any one is facing same problem?

Thanks for your help. I was making mistake in giving path of Output 
Directory. But I tried this for  https://demo.ofbiz.org/webtools . After 
following all the steps, I could not find any file created in my 
Desktop. So I think this is again a problem.


One more thing which I noticed is, when I depress on Export button 
then file is created having the name of Entity which I exported (For my 
local instance). It should be created with the name of filename which we 
mention over there. Any suggestions are most welcome.

It looks like there is something wrong with your Keyboard  I guess its 
time to fix your keyboard problem ;o).
We people don't understand the words written in Capital letters (Its 
like Animal's dancing here and there).


What do you think if we provide a checkbox titled Download on Remote 
Location ?
If that checkbox is checked then file should be downloaded on the remote 
computer.
If community agrees on this approach then I can work on this issue and 
update on the progress being made through patch.

following all the steps, I could not find any file created in my
Desktop. So I think this is again a problem.

One more thing which I noticed is, when I depress on Export button
then file is created having the name of Entity which I exported (For my
local instance). It should be created with the name of filename which we
mention over there. Any suggestions are most welcome.

You can not remove the any of the complete application. 
Each module is related to another module one or other way. Yes but if 
you do not want them in your UI to appear. Then you can go into the 
ofbiz-component.xml of that particular application and set 
app-bar-display=false in webapp tag. Hope this may help you.

You server may not be started properly or your build may be failed. 
Clean the database and run (ant run-install) to reload the database.

Hello all,
   Major concern was that findList method should not be 
used in .ftl files. But it is used in EditTimeEntry.ftl,  
edittasklist.ftl and in editProjectskills.ftl. And following .ftl files 
are not used in any where. So I think this should be cleaned up if it is 
not of use:

1) EditTimeEntry.ftl
2) edittasklist.ftl

And if EditProjectSkills request is not used in any of the link then 
entries related to this should also be cleaned up from controller.xml of 
projectmgr.

New field: desiredDeliveryDate

Hello All,
As I started this discussion on Dev mailing list because I 
proposed  new field desiredDeliveryDate to be introduce in OFBiz. But 
after getting BJ's comment I am redirecting it to User maililng list. I 
have little confusion regarding the dates which are used in OFBiz. For 
example :
1) DesiredDeliveryDate which is asked to user , while creating an 
Purchase Order .
Result : When Order is created then, this date is saved  in  
estimatedDeliveryDate in OrderItem.


2) While editing the Order in orderdetail page, when user appends order 
items in Order then again DesiredDeliveryDate is asked to user

Result: Now this Date is saved  in shipBeforeDate.

3) And As new feature which was introduced recently in OFBiz where Buyer 
can record Estimated Delivery Date from UI in which is given by Supplier.

Result : Now this date is again saved in estimatedDeliveryDate

4) While creating shipment from Order detail page
Result : Estimated Delivery Date is saved in estimatedArrivalDate .

So purpose of these dates are quite confusing. I think We should have:

1) one more field in OrderItem entity  called desiredDeliveryDate and  
its purpose should be like  desired Delivery date which user wants, 
while creating an Order or while adding items in Order after creating it.
2)  estimatedDeliveryDate : Its purpose should be like Buyer can record 
estimatedDeliveryDate which is told by Supplier.

Now in OFBiz , When Purchase Order is placed, Order is in 
ORDER_CREATED status and item in order is in ITEM_CREATED status. So 
when user clicks on link of  Approve Order then, Order is in 
ORDER_APPROVED status and item in Order is in ITEM_APPROVED status. So 
according to your service when ever user Clicks on Approve Order link, 
Shipment will be created automatically and Inventory will also be 
received automatically. And if receive is successfull then Order will be 
in Complete status. But if user approves the order and if he wish to 
edit items or add more items in order after that. Then your service will 
be  killing this process.
 Presently if User clicks on 
Approve Order then an option occurs for Quick Receive Purchase Order. 
This is a multi process step where Shipment is created first and then 
Order items are received for this Shipment. So to automate this process, 
we can have functionality like when user clicks on Quick Receive 
Purchase Order then quickShipPurchaseOrder and receiveInventoryProduct 
should be called automatically. And so this multi step process can be 
reduced to single step process.

  Lets see what community says on this.

After commenting this code, user can not get option of adding bulk 
products into the cart (in case of Purchase order). I think its good to 
have back this functionality so that user can have choice, to add bulk 
products or single product into the cart.

 Well Hans,
  LookupBulkAddSupplierProducts is already a request made in 
controller.xml of Ordermgr. And this request open up a 
LookupBulkAddSupplierProducts form, present in OrderEntryForms.xml which 
shows the products dependent on supplier selected. Now, it is useful 
because when user want to add multiple products into the cart then this 
is the best way to do that. Otherwise user can  add only one product at 
a time .  And if  he  want  to  add  more than one product into the cart 
then he needs to click on lookup multiple times. I think this helps you 
to understand. Please let me know if I can help you more.

All my customers are very confused by this option both in the sales
order and purchase order and i have disabled it many times here locally.

This time i have forgot it to put it back. But if you think it is useful
feel free to change it back. I would appreciate to know why you think it
is useful, remember that especially in the purchase order the products
are dependent on the supplier selected.

Parameters. Also In controller entry you dont need to make enrty for 
Handlers and Pre-processors as you have included common-controller and

One amendment in Ashish's answer.When you run ant 
run-install command you dont need to run ant create-admin-user-login 
command because when you run ant run-install user login with admin and 
password with ofbiz will be created.When you install seed data or run 
ant run-install-extseed then you need to run ant create-admin-user-login 
command.

Please follow these steps:

1) Take latest ofbiz update from svn using svn up command.
2) Run ant clean-all command to clean temporarily used files.
3) Run ant run-install command.
4) Run ant create-admin-user-login command  follow what i told 
earlier.The username you provide while using this command will only be 
the administrator for your project.(There will not be any else admin 
user than this)

5) Run webtools or other backoffice applications to change the password.

Please do not create new threads  demolish previous replies. Let me 
know if any queries.

Generally ProductFeatureIactn entity  provides the capability 
to store which features are incompatible with other features.And 
productFeatureIactnTypeId=FEATURE_IACTN_INCOMP shows that two features 
are incompatible.You can get more detail from page number 78 of data 
model book.You might be knowing this.May be you are asking some thing 
else related to this entity.

  I am not getting purpose of geoIdFrom and geoIdTo in 
ShipmentCostEstimate entity.What I guess is it simply specifies source and 
destination for shipment.If this is the case then how will we handle the case 
if shipment is in part.I mean if I want to ship data from warehouse to 
customer's home.In this case geoIdFrom=warehouse and  geoIdTo=customer's 
home.But what if there are two or three terminals in between.

problem is to calculate shipment cost.And I find no relation between  
ShipmentCostEstimate entity and ShipmentRouteSegment entity.And I still didnt

right now there are 2 configTypeIds : QUESTION and STANDART
In case of STANDARD, all the options are always included/selected,
