Hello, Ketan. When I do not use dictation or a Braille display, I type using 
BrailleTouch. It was a bit of an adjustment learning the positioning of my 
fingers, but, now that I am pretty good with it, I find that I can type quite 
efficiently and rapidly.

I've found that on my iPhone 4S, if you're using the back camera, you can 
use the up volume button to take the picture. It'll be on the bottom left, I 
think. If you're using the front facing camera, I think it would be bottom 
right.

Not sure if such apps exist, however, there are technics you can use that 
will give you reasonable result with whatever you are photographing. It can 
use in both iphones and also digital camera.


I'm not sure what device you have, let say, you using an iphone. if you 
taking picture of something, try to aline it on your forhead, as if, your 
eyes become the camera lance. So, whatever you see will be what will be the 
camera sees. If you can picture yourself in front of the object or the 
subject you photographing of, you usually have 80% chance of taking it in a 
line as your eye sees it.


It is much easier using a camera, however, using it on an iphone help as 
well. However, using an iphone does require a lot of practice, as the take 
picture button is on the sscreen.


Another tip, place the phone slitely left to your eye, or to your forehead, 
as the lance of the back facing camera is on the top right side of the 
camera. however, if you using the front facing camera, its on the top 
middle.


Again, it takes a lot of practice to get use to, but you'll eventually get 
there.

And this is why we all have choices. I personally prefer eloquence, while
others can't stand it. I personally use the compact voices, and really don't
like the high quality voices. But there are others who specifically prefer the
HQ voices.

It's a wonderful thing to have choices like we do. We didn't always have these
kinds of choices, and I, for one, and very grateful.

I'm not saying people don't have a legitimate complaint about the HQ
voices, but I think a lot of it is what you get used to. For example, I

Ari, if you prefer, you can change that in the 
app options, setting upside down the fingers position scheme.


More generally speaking, despite I don't use 
these apps as my primary keyboard I find them 
useful in some situations, especially in case of long input process.

The major inconvenience I find is the poor editing functions.
Brailletouch and BraillePad are almost similar, 
except the last one is available for free.

Yes, the app is called the bible and it can be read verse by verse textually
or audio. It was free when I downloaded it to my Iphone. Another one is

  Very good game, I must say. Made it up to round 5 first time I play d it.

 I haven't been to Panera Bread in awhile, but that was a chain which showed
 up with different categories under their menu.  I'm kind of surprised that
 there were only two items under breakfast favorites, but the other
 categories like bagels and spreads, breads, and I think it was eggs and
 kiche seemed to have more items.

 As an alternative to using All Access where menus are not shown, try using 
 the AroundMe app. Tap on the restaurant that you want, and when you get the 
 address and phone number screen, there may be a Menu button which, when 
 tapped, will give you the current menu for the establishment in question.  I

Thank you everyone for the great, constructive feedback. We've learned a 
lot and I wanted to give you an update.  I just submitted an update to Apple 
based on all the comments received so far!

First, I've built over 80 apps, for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Mac OS and 
even Samsung Bada.  This is the most complex one I've ever built. In addition 
the emphasis on voiceover, the app is also meant for the Deaf, Non-Verbal and 
Non-English-speaking audience, as it can speak the order to the waitstaff, 
independently of voiceover.  The app is accessing four different servers from 
three different companies. One server, in Switzerland, is for the logo 
scanning, one in Rochester, NY (soon to migrate to Amazon's cloud servers) is 
our own with our internal database with photos and premium customer info, 
another in Las Vegas is for the text-to-speech hints (which you do not need if 
you are using voiceover) and the last one, in San Francisco, is for the 
restaurant/business/menu database.  That service and server is provided by 
Locu.com.

That last one is where we have the following issues. First, thanks to the 
popularity of the app, we went over their previously undisclosed limit of 1,000 
requests per day, around 8am Pacific time. That is why some of you saw the app 
crashing.  Since that provider doesn't open until 9am, I had to keep calling 
until they answered to get our limit raised.  (I asked for 100,000!)  It was 
raised and I've made an edit to the app (for the next update) that will display 
a message instead of crashing if that ever happens again!

Next, is the issue of no menus. That was probably because their server 
offers info for more than just restaurants.  For example, they have hair 
salons, spas, etc.  I'm changing the app to just show restaurants, by default, 
and we may re-enable other businesses in a future update, but because it was 
causing confusion, I don't think it should default to all businesses.  That 
other info is valuable, but the confusion seems to be the bigger problem.

Regarding stale data, I have noticed this and complained about it, too.  I 
think the provider's emphasis, understandably, is on growing their database and 
there is less focus on pruning out old info.  They are a startup, too, and I 
can relate to prioritizing resources.  But I think we will create a button that 
lets you report old data and then we can blacklist it from the app, even if it 
hasn't been removed from that provider's database.  To be honest, it's quite 
remarkable that they've built this menu system, without requiring restaurants 
to do anything.  They search for websites, and even scan paper menus and have 
over one million such menus now.  They have signed deals with GoDaddy and Yelp 
so we're in good company.  And they are excited to be part of this accessible 
effort.

Re voiceover and accessibility.  The specific feedback was great, and I 
believe I've made all of the changes.  I've used the app repeatedly in 
voiceover mode and I think I've eliminated everything people were running into. 
For the technically inclined, you might be interested to know that there are at 
least 109 specific accessibility commands in the app source code. The problem

There may be an easier way, but, you can always use the ReadToGo app and
search for the books that you want to have back on your phone.  You would
then re-download them.  You don't need to do this outside the ReadToGo app.
Unlike Kindle or audible, where you have to go to either of those web sites
to search for and purchase the book, or even choose a Kindle free
sample,ReadToGo can search directly in Bookshare and you will have the
opportunity to download them right from ReadToGo.

No, Downcast which I think most blind as well as sighted users agree is
probably the best Podcasting app is $1.99. iCatcher is $2.99 and it is also
fully Voiceover accessible. I just read that it now supports the Action
rotor for deleting episodes which Downcast does not yet do although I think
the developer is working on it. I started out with iCatcher and then
switched to Downcast, might just have to try iCatcher again. If you listen
to Podcasts a lot you'll be happy you spend the $2 or $3.

When I  go to make a call to my doctor's office to request a prescription
refill I have to leave a message. But when I go to do this you have to
listen to the prompts and than choose the right number to press to leave
that message. Well I can't press the number pad on my phone because it 
keeps

disappearing and reappearing. So how do I get the number pad to stop
disappearing   on me so that I can press the right number prompt for my
call? Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated.  Take care.

 Hi, it depends on a variety of variables.  You do not  need to respond 
to these questions.  Will anyone with vision be viewing the picture; what 
size screen do you need or have; does your tv have hdmi inputs;  I know 
there are more question but I cannot think at this moment.  FYI, you can 
watch both netflix and hulu on both your pc and phone.  You can also stream 
your phone to your tv by using component cable that goes from the phone plug 
at the bottom and the other end plugs into your tv.  good luck

Wifi issue

Hi,
I'm still having trouble with my Wi-Fi, as it is continued to be grayed out. 
VoiceOver just says Wi-Fi dimmed off, and I can't turn it on, or Wi-Fi will 
come on, and I'm not able to join my network. I think it may be an internal 
issue, maybe with the antenna. I think I'm also at the point of having to take 
it down to the Apple store sometime this upcoming week to have it replaced. 
However, before I do, is there something else I can try before taking it to the 
store? I've reset network settings, and all settings as well as done a soft 
reset of the phone.

Messages Going into Spam Folder

I am sorry if this is a repeat of a message I sent yesterday. I am not sure if 
yesterday's went through not.

I'm finding that many messages from this list go into my spam folder in my 
Gmail account. I have never knowingly sent any messages from anyone in this 
group to spam, so I'm not sure why this is going on

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could remedy this problem? Thank 
you.

touch.  People have suggested between the Ipod touch 4 and 5 gen but there
is no differentiation between the two.  There is only the Ipod Touch with
different memory capacities.

Truthfully, I played with this a while, and it has to do with the length of
time you hold it in.  I think trial and error, if not too frustrating, may
work out.  I, in fact, do get it to access Siri, and it's way convenient.

 

Holding it in too long makes it look to want to pear, too little doesn't do
it either.  Once I got it I've been pretty successful and it's nice having
the phone in a different room than you are when it's necessary.

There is already a pedometer  on iPhone.  And, it's totally accessible.  All
you need to do is to enable it for it to show up as another app on your
phone.  To access it, do the following.

 

1 Open Settings.

2 Flick right until you get to Nike Plus iPod and single-finger double
tap.

3 Flick right to get to Nike Plus iPod and double tap the toggle from off
to on.

 

There are other options here that you can look through and set the way you
want.You can even select a power song from your personal library to get that
blood moving around!There is a spoken voice and you can select and more.

Rolling Back to an Earlier App Version of Facebook

I know there has been discussion on the list about accessibility issues with
Facebook but I haven't been following them since version 6.1.1 has been
working for me. I normally do a lot of my Facebook stuff on my Windows XP
computer so I missed the problems. This morning I was in Facebook on my
iPhone 5 and noticed with the current version that I could no longer select
like or comment, etc. when reviewing another's post with VoiceOver on.
That's a deal breaker for me for using Facebook on my iPhone.

 

I keep backups of all versions of my apps in a Backup subfolder below Mobile
Applications. I'm considering rolling back to Facebook 6.0.2 since I thought
I could like something while using VO with that earlier version. Can someone
who has ever rolled back to an earlier version please review the steps for
me? I assume I first must uninstall the app from the phone. Next I guess I
need to sync the phone to my computer using iTunes so the current Facebook
version will be removed from the Mobile Applications folder. I'm a bit
unclear what the next step should be. Would I simply use Windows Explorer to
copy the Facebook 6.0.2.ipa file to the Mobile Applications folder then go
into iTunes to install it? Or should I add the version I want to roll back
to into the Automatically Add to iTunes subfolder? I want to get this right
so it will install correctly.

 

Finally, can anyone comment on whether uninstalling the current Facebook
version and rolling back to a previous version will mess up any of my apps
that share with Facebook? For example, I often share newspaper articles or
Lire articles with Facebook and I don't want to mess up that capability.

Updating All Access: Menus:

Well, I'm using the 4S with the current operating system.

Since I couldn't find the app in the app store on the phone, I did get it on
my computer and sync it.

Since the update was announced, I've been trying to update it to see if I'd
possibly have any more success than I previously did.

It still doesn't show up as an update even though I've had others.

Any thoughts?

BlindSquare does have a pedometer. Once you walk somewhere, it will tell you 
how far you've walked in and how many minutes.

I'm currently waiting on my pair of the Aftershoxz Bluez to be shipped. 
They've been on back order since early May.  These are the Bluetooth version

of the wired sports headphones being sold.  As far as I know, the only 
difference between the two versions of the wired sports headphones is that 
one has a mic and the other doesn't.  Oh, and they are about $40 cheaper 
than the Bluetooth version.

I chose the wireless root because I'm not crazy about hauling around a fanny

pack, a guide dog, and more wires.  I've been using a Trekker Breeze for 
several years and even though I can keep the speaker wires contained, I have

occasionally gotten it tangled in my dog's leash, my fanny pack strap, and 
yes, once, even my hair, though you probably won't have this specific issue.

I know some people have discussed a delay with VO and the Bluetooth devices,

so I guess that might be an issue.  For me, though, the benefits offered by 
my ability to hear my surroundings as well as VO on my phone is most likely 
going to outweigh any delay that occurs.

Yes, you can place a URL directly into the search field. I don't know
about your second question, but I would assume so. If you're going to
look around further, remember it's an OPML file and not a nopml file.

I haven't seen this come up on list for a while, if even at all, so thought I'd 
take the time out to write up a little review of FitBit.

This review is based on an iPhone 5 user having used a FitBit 1 and today 
receiving my new FitBit Flex, along with the FitBit Aria scales.

Firstly, I'm blind, totally, so whatever I am about to write is based on the 
fact that I've set this up and used it alone and unaided.

Let me also add that I've not ever been able to weigh myself, in private and 
with a little dignity. Talking scales seem to have only one volume, shout, and 
they are often rather poor at getting things right.

So back at the start of May I began using FitBit, I really bought it to see how 
much walking I do each day, but, found that it really began to encourage me to 
do more.

I had a FitBit 1 which is a tiny small device which slots into a rubber clip

scales for a second or two, then remove your foot. Wait about 2 seconds and 
then step on fully with both feet. For the best measurements you need to be 
bear footed and preferably the less you can wear the better.

FitBit Aria scales not only weigh you but also measure body fat % and also 
calculate your BMI.

This info is then sent via WiFi to your FitBit account, and downloaded to your 
App when you run it.

Bravo, now without help I have access to my weight in private! yippy!

The FitBit Aria product and FitBit 1 have helped me to really learn more about 
my health and activity on a daily bases.

I've today received my FitBit Flex, which is their new product, and this is 
smaller still and much better in terms of overall wearability. The FitBit 1 and 
Flex are the same price by the way!

The Flex I can easily see myself wearing at night, which will provide even more 
info about health etc, and the splash resistance will be good too.

Overall, I'm really happy with this product range, accessibility is not an 
issue, even setting up the Aria scales to use my home WiFi was very easy, I 
just followed the prompts on the iPHone App to do this.

Bottom line, if you weigh yourself, and are interested in this sort of thing, 
its a brilliant product solution.

I should add, the calorific data and distance travelled are actual ones for 
you, they are not random things generated by rough guides for people of your 
height and weight. I tested this by walking with my wife who has the same 
system, and we both walked the same distance, yet she, who is shorter, had 
walked more steps than I.

There in lies also the other aspect, the social element, you can share your 
stats with other users and compare how well you are doing etc.

For a real proof in the pudding, I have lost 1 stone since starting on May 11th 
to date, and I although not over weight, am pleased with myself for doing so.

Hi, regarding the art Nike iPod app you have to buy the sensor before you can 
use the app. On the free pedometer that was talked about on the list I got it, 
can anyone tell me if it works with an elliptical trainer? I tried using it. 
But it does not seem to move with every step. I have the accelerometer

touch.  People have suggested between the Ipod touch 4 and 5 gen but there
is no differentiation between the two.  There is only the Ipod Touch with
different memory capacities.

 I've today received my FitBit Flex, which is their new product, and this is 
 smaller still and much better in terms of overall wearability. The FitBit 1 
 and Flex are the same price by the way!
 
 The Flex I can easily see myself wearing at night, which will provide even 
 more info about health etc, and the splash resistance will be good too.
 
 Overall, I'm really happy with this product range, accessibility is not an 
 issue, even setting up the Aria scales to use my home WiFi was very easy, I 
 just followed the prompts on the iPHone App to do this.
 
 Bottom line, if you weigh yourself, and are interested in this sort of thing, 
 its a brilliant product solution.
 
 I should add, the calorific data and distance travelled are actual ones for 
 you, they are not random things generated by rough guides for people of your 
 height and weight. I tested this by walking with my wife who has the same 
 system, and we both walked the same distance, yet she, who is shorter, had 
 walked more steps than I.
 
 There in lies also the other aspect, the social element, you can share your 
 stats with other users and compare how well you are doing etc.
 
 For a real proof in the pudding, I have lost 1 stone since starting on May 
 11th to date, and I although not over weight, am pleased with myself for 
 doing so.

TMobile Texas

Hi,
I plan to upgrade from my iPhone 4 to the 5.
I am on ATT now.
I have been thinking about possibly moving to TMobile as I am not under 
contract any longer.
I live in central Texas, and wonder if any of you have had any experience with 
TMobile service in this region.
It looks like they have some reasonably low priced plans, and, the option to 
make payments on the phone.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

and it works very well with voiceover. So, if you know the city and state where

Hope,

The wrist band which comes as part of the Flex is about 3 5th's of an inch wide 
and no thicker than a traditional leather watch strap.

Near to the area where the FitBit Flex itself lives the rubber wrist band 
thickens up a little, but, nothing garish.

I have a black one but they come in every conceivable colour.

They don't look bad, and arguably look good, they are designed as a fashion 
accessory.

I expect the battery to last as long as the FitBit 1 did, about 2 weeks.

Yes, the Flex monitors sleep, and since its a wrist band rather than clip on, I 
expect to find myself wearing it now 24 hours a day.

 There is a screen on the FitBit devices but it is not necessary to be able 
 to see this.
 
 I was able to configure and link my FitBit 1 without sighted help and have 
 been able to monitor my steps taken, distance walked, floors climbed and 
 calories burned each day.
 
 For those wishing to go a little mad, you can even tell the App more info 
 like what food you eat etc, you can also have FitBit monitor your sleep, 
 but, I didn't like the look of the wrist band for night wearing, see later 
 comments on this.
 
 I have also configured the FitBit Aria scales, these are brill, they have a 
 screen on them for the sighted, but, no use to me. They automatically can 
 manage the weight profiles of up to 8 users, so when I stand on them they 
 recognise me simply by knowing that I'm the only person in our house of that 
 rough weight.
 
 To get the scales to turn on you push with a medium weight on the centre of 
 the scales for a second or two, then remove your foot. Wait about 2 seconds 
 and then step on fully with both feet. For the best measurements you need to 
 be bear footed and preferably the less you can wear the better.
 
 FitBit Aria scales not only weigh you but also measure body fat % and also 
 calculate your BMI.
 
 This info is then sent via WiFi to your FitBit account, and downloaded to 
 your App when you run it.
 
 Bravo, now without help I have access to my weight in private! yippy!
 
 The FitBit Aria product and FitBit 1 have helped me to really learn more 
 about my health and activity on a daily bases.

Sure! Just insert the @ (at) symbol, then start typing the friend's 
name. Now if you drag your finger up above the keyboard you will see 
names matching what you were typing appear. Double tap the name and it 
will be inserted.

There is already a pedometer  on iPhone.  And, it's totally
accessible.  All you need to do is to enable it for it to show up as
another app on your phone.  To access it, do the following.

1 Open Settings.

2 Flick right until you get to Nike Plus iPod and single-finger
double tap.

3 Flick right to get to Nike Plus iPod and double tap the toggle
from off to on.

There are other options here that you can look through and set the way
you want.You can even select a power song from your personal library
to get that blood moving around!There is a spoken voice and you can
select and more.

To turn on cap lock for 1 letter like in your name double tap the shift. Triple 
tap shift to keep cap lock on. To turn it off just double tap the shift.

Hello,

if using touch typing, a single tap turns on or off shift.  A triple tap turns 
caps lock on.  A single tap again turns caps lock off.

triple click the shift key on the on screen keyboard.  If it's a Bluetooth, 
do it as you would on a regular keyboard.

Hi Chris, Skype pushes for me, when I get a call, and when I receive chats.

Also, the reason why all your contacts are imported into Skype is because they 
want you to use their calling features for calling other phone numbers. This is 
an area Viber isn't in right now so it's understandable they are doing it the 
way they are.

Thank you Jonathan oh so perhaps Skype only pushes these when the app is 
open and or in app switcher. Well I prefer push notifications even when 
the app is closed to save on battery, resources, etc. And thank you for 
making the import contacts feature clearer. Didn't give that a thought 
to be honest.

Yes, Skype has to be running, which I personally prefer as there are times when 
I don't want to be available on Skype. I also don't want to give my phone 
number to everyone.

Also one big advantage Skype has over Viber is that the Windows versions and 
Mac versions of Skype are accessible, but the Windows and mac versions of Viber 
are not.

I hate to contradict,but this will both depend on which typing mode, 
and which iOs version.  Under touch typing,  you just touch and lift your 
finger for an upper case, triple tap it for capslock, double tap to return 
to  lower case and normality.

I am so sorry about the dog, it is always hard.  I put our last pat Lab down
in March 2011 after Tom got home from University of Arizona Hospital so he
could say bye, he was 13 years old with a huge tumor on his back leg and
they wanted to amputate, not at 13 years old, we were not going to do that.
No pets now.

I recently got a Bose SoundDock 10. All of its controls are via a remote,
which is quite easy to use. The manual says that the unit can either be
powered off by use of the remote or by removing the phone or iPod from the
dock. Problem is, the SoundDock 10 beeps every half hour when the iPhone is
not playing music. In other words, unless I am listening to music via the
dock, it does the same two-tone beep that it makes when you first plug it
in.

 

Does anyone else out there use a SoundDock 10? Do you have this issue? Any
idea what might be going on? It's a mystery, since the SoundDock 10 has no
internal clock that I know of. And yet it beeps every thirty minutes.

Data usage when streaming Pandora

talk about subjective, I hated DecTalk except when it sang, that was pretty
funny but I am glad I never had to work with it long term.  

That said, I am not overly crazy about any of the Nuance voices, I can use
them with Jaws but, I still prefer Eloquence partly because it tells me
better about capital letters etc and partly because I hear it all day long
and then some.  

I keep my phone on Samantha and over the years I am used to her quirks,
can't say I love them but I can figure it all out in the long run.  I don't
want to change my country or anything like that.

Yes. But they are named by Nuance.
I have all the English  Nuance voices on my PC using Window-eyes. 
There are five, as I recall Samantha voices alone ranging from  compact to
something like super high quality  or some such.
Apple offers a choice of what Nuance has.
And, for my PC I still prefer the old Dec Access32.
Nothing clearer or more   responsive.

I don't believe in cluttering the list with Thank You messages, so instead, 
by way of showing my appreciation, I'll comment on a tip and an app which have 
been particularly useful to me recently.

TIP: Shake the phone to undo the last dictation/input. I didn't know this till 
several weeks back and now I use it loads! It sure beats trying to select a 
lengthy portion of text!

I recently asked for apps that would show me free apps each day and somebody 
kindly recomended AppsGoneFree. The thing I love about it is that, each time 
the app is updated, I am told and so need only look once each day at the 
information. I find this very helpful.

As an alternative to using All Access where menus are not shown, try using
the AroundMe app. Tap on the restaurant that you want, and when you get the
address and phone number screen, there may be a Menu button which, when
tapped, will give you the current menu for the establishment in question.  I
did that for a local restaurant last night and it worked like a champ.

Keep in mind that the menu button is only there if a restaurant has
submitted menus to Locu.com. I live in a small town in British Columbia,
Canada and while the app lists a dozen or so restaurants including Boston
Pizza, McDonald's, Subway, Tim Horton's and Dairy Queen all of which are
large chains, none of these have a menu button. McDonald's is listed 3
times, Subway twice and neither listing has it. I only found 2 quite small
places that have a menu button and then what is actually listed is not much
and in some cases not very descriptive and also without prices.

 

I think Todd has an awesome idea with this app and I could see how this app
could be fantastic, but of course the app could be the best app in the
world, but if the content is missing or lacking detail and accuracy it still
won't be too useful.

 

I'll certainly continue to check out any updates and maybe try to encourage
a couple of restaurant owner's to submit their menus to Locu.com and see how
it goes. Not sure, if Todd is reading this, what could be done about the
duplicate listings, but I assume this is a Locu.com issue.

I haven't seen the update yet, but for a first iteration, it is decent.
Hopefully, the UI command to clear the rest of the screen when you select a
food category or specific restaurant will be resolved.  

 

For others who have struggled with this app, when you select a category or
restaurant, you then need to flick left to find the menu button and select
it.  

 

I haven't been to Panera Bread in awhile, but that was a chain which showed
up with different categories under their menu.  I'm kind of surprised that
there were only two items under breakfast favorites, but the other
categories like bagels and spreads, breads, and I think it was eggs and
kiche seemed to have more items.

  I recently got a Bose SoundDock 10. All of its controls are via a remote, 
which is quite easy to use. The manual says that the unit can either be powered 
off by use of the remote or by removing the phone or iPod from the dock. 
Problem is, the SoundDock 10 beeps every half hour when the iPhone is not 
playing music. In other words, unless I am listening to music via the dock, it 
does the same two-tone beep that it makes when you first plug it in.

  Does anyone else out there use a SoundDock 10? Do you have this issue? 
Any idea what might be going on? It's a mystery, since the SoundDock 10 has no 
internal clock that I know of. And yet it beeps every thirty minutes.

Question On Charging IPhone 5

I have a charger that I used for my iPhone 4. If I plug my iPhone 5 into it 
with my lighntning cable, will it be okay to use it with the 
5?

I am thinking that the two chargers are the same—the cable being the only 
difference. Is my thinking correct?

Cheers! Now got the AppsGoneFree app, but it was difficult to move 
between the pages. I ended up doing a double tap and hold, then wile 
holding swiping to the right. But even that was trial and error. No the 
adjustable wasn't there and for some reason I could not do the gesture 
to move between pages. Now sorted but could be better.

Here's a question about Voice Dream Reader. I know I'm in the minority, but I 
enjoy reading books with High Quality Samantha. (If you're going to throw eggs, 
please wait until I go outside., Smile). I'm also looking for a good option for 
reading text files I've scanned. I have quite a collection after many years of 
having very few options to get books. Anyway, when I read a text file in VDR, 
speech stops at the end of each page. I know I could read using Acapella, but 
their voices have so many artifacts that I concentrate on the book for being 
distracted by the speech. I've converted text files to Epub and PDF and tried 
to read them in iBooks, but speech is very choppy, as Samantha stops reading 
for half a second at the end of every line. Books I've bought from the iBooks 
store don't have this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for smooth 
reading of long text files using HQ Samantha?
