Where can I find iTunes for Business to download? Thanks in advance! -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of M. First, the reason I use the business version of iTunes is because I choose to have a full copy of every app on my iPhone stored in my iTunes library on my PC. This is very useful especially when restoring a backup to a new device or even the same device. For example, not so long ago, my original 8 Plus gave up the proverbial ghost. As a result, Apple gave me a new 8 Plus. I simply took the new phone, connected it to my PC and restored it from a backup. Because I have full copies of all of my favorite apps, even those no longer available in the App Store, those apps were successfully installed on my new 8 Plus and all was well. I relay all of this so that you will understand the following short answer to your question, said answer being the following: The only way you can be certain that apps, no longer available in the app store, can continue to be installed on any of your devices is to make certain that you have a full copy of said apps in your local iTunes library. So, in iTunes for business, when you bring up the Apps area, if you see the apps listed in your local library, then, all things being equal, you most likely have a full copy stored locally. If you do not, then I'm afraid that you will not be able to restore the app should your local device copy be lost and the app in question is no longer available in the app store. Of course, this is a general answer as I will not drill down any further on this topic as there are simply too many variables to consider in order to provide a truly comprehensive answer. I'm certain that if you do some serious Googling, you will find out more on this topic. For Those Using the Business, Non-Apple Supported Version of iTunes, an Update is Available
Hello Everyone, If you, like me, are using the enterprise, non-Apple supported, version of iTunes on either your Mac or Windows PC, while not absolutely necessary in order to support your iOS13.x devices, I strongly recommend that you do update it as there was a new partial update posted to Apple's site on August 14, 2019. I use the term partial because, on Windows at least, when you run the installer, instead of installing a full version, assuming that you have the previous version of iTunes for business already installed on your computer, it will give you two options, (1) repair / update iTunes or (2) remove iTunes. Unless you are experiencing some problems, select repair / update. This will copy and update files to your current install of iTunes. I performed this maintenance a couple of days ago and I am truly amazed at how much faster and efficient iTunes is performing on all of my PCs, including my beloved old Windows 7 PC. If you are reading this and have no idea about to what I am referring, then just ignore this post as the application discussed here is not supported by Apple and anything you do with it, you do at your own risk. Wow. I just got around to recognizing my first product and I have to say I am quite impressed. A lot of thought obviously went into how to make this usable. It is really nice when it works as it did for me upon first use. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Evan Reese Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2017 11:30 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Seeing AI 1.1 update is available Make sure you are not too close to the package or whatever you are trying to scan. Normally if you have your phone in vibrate mode (mute switch is set to on) you won't hear system tones. I assume that this just means that in the Seeing AI app tones now play regardless whether you have mute on or off. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Richard Turner Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2017 7:29 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Seeing AI 1.1 update is available That is a very good question. The product channel won’t make any sound until you are pointed at a bar code. Perhaps get some sighted assistance to find a bar code? ON cans, they are usually by the seam. When I make sure I'm on the product channel, the camera doesn't even appear to be trying to find the product. I hear no beeping or anything, but when I'm on the short text Jannel for example, and I tap it, it starts recognizing. I don't know why. Re: Seeing AI 1.1 update is available
I've noticed that happening to me too sometimes. So what I do is I'll try changing channels, flicking up or flicking down, or I'll try double tapping it. Any of those options seems to work. It is kind of annoying though. Perhaps they'll fix this in an update. Re: Seeing AI 1.1 update is available
No. Once you have selected the product channel, you simply point the camera at a product until it starts beeping on the barcode as it beeps faster you might hold steady or pull back slightly and it'll click into processing and give you the product name and then if you swipe right to the more info button and double tap you may find lots of details about the contents of the package cooking directions if available etc. Richard > On Jul 20, 2017, at 6:37 AM, "dacia.l...@gmail.com"> wrote: > > Hi, I have a question regarding the products channel. Re: And in Latin America? Re: U.K. RE: Seeing AI 1.1 update is available
I know exactly when it will be available. The day Microsoft makes it so. Nobody ever knows dates until the company themselves announce it. Frankly, unless there is an issue with Microsoft and a particular country, I don't know what the reason for the delay would be. I know they have had issues with the UK in the past. It is such a great app, I hope it doesn't take long for you who cannot access it. RE: And update is available to iOS
That is true, but Shaf is correct in saying that Apple I think sometimes does not fix bugs reported during the beta cycle where they probably could do so. iOS 10 has been a pretty good release, but if you think back at iOS 9 and that nasty bug where the phone would become totally unresponsive when Voiceover was running and a phone call came in especially when using a headset? That bug was reported by many beta testers for a long time yet Apple released iOS 9 and essentially for many Voiceover users the "iPhone" with emphasis on "phone" was not very useable as a phone. Apple has a great committment to accessibility and overall they do a good job, but that doesn't mean they can't be criticized for dropping the ball when they in fact dropped it. They introduced accessibility to main stream devices and in a way started a trend which is gaining momentum, but they should not rest on their laurels just because 7 years ago they did something good by making iOS accessible. RE: And update is available to iOS
Simon, Based on what your iPhone 5S is reporting in Settings, you're still running iOS 9.3.5. I would expect that if you start the update to iOS 10, it will offer you the latest version of that which is available. When I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 10 from 9.3.5 using iTunes, I had already downloaded version 10.0.1 to my computer but it asked me if I wanted to check for updates before installing and it installed the latest 10.0.2 when I confirmed yes. Good luck. No, I wasn’t asking about VO fixes. Someone asked why update the software. I was answering that question. This update was done not long after the software was released to the public. Yep. That email freezing bug is extremely frustrating. Also, some VoiceOver users have a weird page scrolling bug where VoiceOver will randomly attempt to scroll through different pages on your home screen. This also happened with me when restoring an iOS device. Also, why was the Audio Destination rotor option remove in iOS 10? Re: update not available
Hi, I called Apple yesterday because I have an Apple care support plan, and because I was having the same problem you had. They said that the servers were just very busy sometimes you could download the update, but then it would not verify and install because the activation servers were busy. So just keep trying, and you will be able to get it even without iTunes. I did. RE: update not available
I to upgraded via iTunes for the first time and I am very glad I did. It makes the update procedure must easier to follow since you can check on the progress all the way through the upgrade. If you do it via wifi there comes a point when you have no speech. I used my mac book pro, but I am certain it works just as well using a windows machine. Be sure to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes 11.1 before beginning the upgrade. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Rick Alfaro Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2013 09:25 To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: update not available I also got the same thing so I decided to do the update via iTunes instead and it worked on my first try. Rhapsody, An Update is Available
Hi to the list. I am currently using Rhapsody version 2.2.19 on the iPhone, it works very well and is very accessible. When I launch the app, I am informed of an available update, this is not through the app store, but from within the app itself. I tap No Thanks, but am continually presented with the opportunity to update. I am concerned about the accessibility of the update, so am wondering if anyone has tried the update and is it safe to proceed? Thanks. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Post a new message to VIPhone by emailing viphone@googlegroups.com. The update does work, and it is accessible, but I find that not as much information is available regarding genres, radio stations, etc. as was in the earlier version. Re: Rhapsody, An Update is Available
This is true for most apps, but for some reason, it works with this one. I thought it might, because both versions are in the App Store. Maybe Rhapsody is trying to give people a choice as to which version to use. I'm not really sure. RE: Rhapsody, An Update is Available
Hi Jim, I have updated to the newest version and while it is accessible, I much preferred the earlier version. It seemed to offer different music (may not be exclusive to this version,) and it seemed to have more options as far as the genres offered. The newer version does have a choice between high and low quality streams (which may have been offered in the past) but now by default, it is set to the lowest quality. This does make it faster to stream when on a 4G network... There is now a tab called my music, which contains everything now, including the saved radio stations, the playlists, etc. I do believe that there is an option to transfer the downloads from the old version to the new; the old version still appears on the iPhone home screen at this point... While playing a track, the now playing button has been renamed to plus button. This stil gives you acces to add the track to a playlist, etc. Hope this helps!
