FYI... other than IP67 and mobility support (who uses that in unlicensed
bands?), this doesn't seem to have many advantages over the ePMP, and
likely will be quite a bit more expensive.

Tesla S is cool. Being able to drive 3-4 hours and not be stuck for 8 is
better. Once they get more charging stations (at least in major cities,
come on!) I can see it being available to way more people.

$1/watt cost of parts if you do it yourself.
Take your annual kWh usage. You can normally download your records from the
power company or they will send them to you. Say you use 18,000 kWh per year.
Divide that number by 3 and that is a reasonable size of wattage to install.
So in this
I was thinking, Licenses, seriously? And 25Mbps? I’m sure it has some
overseas interest because that’s the only explanation I have.

Exactly. AFMUG is mostly WISPs, I think Proxim just goes to camera
installer companies/conferences and racks up the customers there who don't
feel they need to research other options. Their products are usually very
reliable even if not too competitive in the value or speed department.

I do a 62 mile round trip most weekends at 70-80 mph with AC in the summer. It
always gets home with 5-10 miles to spare.
No hills though.
If running out of range, I slow down. You can double your existing range by
driving 35 vs 65. Have never noticed killing the AC helping much.

The Rocket M5’s seem to vary the power output about 21dBm based on the
modulation rate which makes it difficult to determine what’s happening. And
the NanoBridge’s do that above 18dBm since they are lower power and based on
bench tests that I’ve seen, power output numbers might be optimistic.

Hot weather is good for the batts. They store more energy and they can deliver
more energy.
I have been driving a leaf for years. Cold is the range enemy. The air
conditioning is exceedingly efficient. Not much of a hit at all. Perhaps 300
watts.
