Personally i think that we should remove the feature: color text depends on
the user's state.
About the buddy icons we should use colored icons... i don't care if they
are wlm2009-like or not.

Yes, images has a little bit more of Saturation... agree that should have
less.
When deleted the box images speeds up way faster the skin, is why i did.

No, I wasn't talking about the buddy icons, I was talking about the color of
the nicknames! Just the fact that the text gets colored depending on the
state! That's why I said black :p Yes the images should have less
saturation, but the text also should be more subtle...
Also, WLM doesn't color

Hi Montblanc
Btw we need to have always a default skin to avoid problem with the code...
Then the user can choose/download every skin he just wants...
We already talked about a wizard but the ideas doesn't like to everyone, the
same for Did You Know?

Should we make a
Minimal skin as default skin? Well, I don't know if that's a good idea.
There are many people that rate software after their first look, so if they
see our great screenshots on the homepage, download it and then only see
aMSN with the minimal skin, it's not the best first impression. Sure they

Ok, well my opinion is this :
1 - Ship only one skin.. adding more skins will just make our download file
bigger, no need for that when users don't care.
2 - I don't like the minimal skin, I tried it, and it's dead ugly, I do not
believe that it represents aMSN properly! It is also a skin based

well, technically, that wasn't a question, it was a conditional statement...
and anyways, I don't know, you'd have to ask people on the forums what they
think!

Excuse me but I couldn't avoid listening to your conversation... :P I
think defaulting to Minimal and/or adding a Welcome wizard to let
users set the most common preferences and skin should be the best
compromise. For example, they could choose between Sapphire (no need

Hello Gustavo (nice name, in italian is a verb...) [?]
So i do some work for the skin, in your case i want to inform you that i

In particular i added groupbox by default is 1 and it means draw the

Ok great, but anyway i've deleted those image from the new Skin (still svg

Good work. I must update the svn of amsn...

crowd the preferences dialog with all kinds of options only 0,05% of

Sorry Kakaroto, but it's not the same thing to have an user option or a skin

I'd prefer user option because a skin option it's a little bit hided... the
same is for underline it's a nice feature, but if an user want it he should
edit the xml skin file... and it's not simply for all

I don't know what is better. It depends from user... if he has many users or
not, if he likes an eye candy skin or a light skin... so personally i don't
know.
But maybe a poll should be: do you want to put a skin wizard? do you want
put in amsn both skins and then the user chooses? For you what
No, options is not a good idea... I think the user must have a fast skin,
that's it... what makes it so slow is the fact that we have that many
options to check everytime we're drawing...
The most CPU consuming processes I think are :
1 - dealing with transparency.. so alpha blending in images
We should either update the skin, or change the skin...
I suggest a vote...
Changing the skin (to the minimal skin) :
pros :
Much faster aMSN!!!
Smaller binary size
cons :
Not the same eye candy..
Users don't like stuff that change too much...
I don't vote yet as I don't know...
however, it
