More info: https.../?F540003300=1234321 works. I get the form in Search mode, with 1234321 in the field. But if I try https.../?mode=Submit I either get: ARERR [9217] File not found. Either the file requested is not present or the URL supplied is bad. Or I get the form, but in Search mode.

I tend to steer away from the bundled tomcat because it is outdated. It will always be outdated. 5.5.23 is the version in your logs (released on 2007-03-09). 5.5.30 is the latest release for the 5.5 branch. See the list of fixed issues here:
