Hello listers,
I'm considering installing multiple instance of ARS 6.3 on the same box.
Instances will share the same database.
Anyone did a performance comparison between single and multiple instances?
Does it bring a better usage of the server resources?
Thanks for sharing.

One thing to consider is that sharing the same database appears to
imply that you'll be putting both instances into the same server group -
and server groups aren't supported for multiple instances on the same

Dear James:
The bug simple. It does a character comparison rather than a number

The dots match. Three is bigger than one. Thus you are trying to

Raido, I don't think it works that way. Are you certain that the fields that
you are mapping questions to belong to the template form? Or do they belong

My understanding is that you create the Incident, which then kicks off the

We used to have this type of config on a reporting server before. One AR

You also need to map the fields on the SRD.

Hi Gary,
How about this.
As you have leading zeros you must have the numbers in a character field.
Copy them into an integer field to drop the leading zeros and then copy back

have a Display form that doesn't need to be opened in modify or new

You may want to consider setting it to 0. We have one of our forms in

Hi Gary,
Along the same line of thought, except that once you've copied your string to
an integer, you may as well work with the integer. This can be implemented with
5 active links or filters.
1. Set ZTmpInteger to OldString and set NewString to NULL
2. If ZTmpInteger 10 then
Or, you could have an active link do a Set Fields on Window Loaded.

When you open the form (window open), are you initializing the view

We have Active Links that initialize our view fields to $DEFAULT$ when

they appear to still work even when I open them in search mode.
I'm not sure how I could force a user to open up the form in the User

I can certainly to an active link to do a set fields, but what type of

Can you do that with a PERFORM-ACTION-OPEN-URL instead? Do you want
it basically to open your Email client with the address filled in? If
so, I think that will open the associated mail client.

View fields show up in search mode but you have to set the value on
open. You could probably just set the value on window open to the URL
but it sounds like you really want to open the mail client. If so, just
fire the AL you suggested below on window open or window loaded.

The only problem with that approach is the sort order gets messed up.. Since
the Entry ID is a character field the sort order would be something like
