just FYI, I emailed Logitech and this is what they said:
the TransNav is accessed through the IR remote, the knob on the front
is now only volume control.
so, it probably looks the same as the original model cosmetically

Pretty ridiculous. I don't use the knob all that often but I when I do I
like the option to control everything from the device without reaching
for the remote or my Ipod Touch running Ipeng. In fact I never use the
remote anymore and when I misplace the Ipod I just use the knob/buttons

Well if I designed a new SB product it would be Home cinema receiver
Ethernet in hdmi out nothing else at all, the rest is on the server .
That would still be a small anonymous cheap thing but able to put out

I used the knob a few times when the box was new, haven't touched it
since. A more important question to me is whether we can still get out
of warranty Transporters repaired? I don't really mind tossing a $300
