The television cameras would surely be coming. He should look nice. Pratt, the executive director of the Gun Owners of America, an advocacy group situated in this suburb of Washington, stands tall even when some officials with the National Rifle Association are lying low. He expects as much from NRA officials; they are, he believes, sometimes faint of heart and impure of ideology. Pratt is not. He believes there should be absolutely no regulations governing the sale or purchase of handguns -- no waiting period, no background checks, no trigger locks. Automatic weapons should be as available as hunting rifles. People should be permitted to buy them in abundance. In this more perfect world, Pratt said, many of the deaths in Colorado might have been prevented. "We're saddened that there were not teachers and principals who had access to a gun, who might have been able to stop the mayhem," Pratt said late last week in his office, from which he directs the lobbying and other activities of an organization that he said has about 150,000 members. Pratt's group is a mere shadow of the NRA, and it holds sway over only a small number of extremely conservative lawmakers. But if you are looking for the most unyielding proponents of the right to bear arms, the kind whose ardor and outspokenness are undimmed even by the deaths of 14 teen-agers and a teacher in one ghastly spree, this is where you will find them, along with Pratt, a 56-year-old with a sallow complexion, gray-fringed hair and a gentle voice. He is the kind of man you would ask to watch your luggage while you dashed to the rest room. As Bob Walker, president of Handgun Control, an advocacy group on the other side, said: "His personality is disarming. But his views are not." For Pratt, it is really quite simple: When the founding fathers fashioned the Second Amendment, they rightly saw an armed citizenry as a final safeguard against any possibility of tyranny. And because tyranny does not augur or announce its arrival, it is best to be ready, just in case. "One is advised to buy fire insurance when one's house is not burning down, and you hope it never does burn down, but you're certainly not going to be able to buy it during or after the fire," Pratt said. "And it's the same thing with firearms," he continued, "whether it's a government that goes bad like Milosevic against the Croats and his own people as well as the Kosovars, or Hitler, or Stalin, or whatever, or just the criminal element." Pratt was not always so wary. He described his childhood outside of Camden, N.J., as uneventful. His father, an electrical engineer, worked in television sales for an electronics company. His mother stayed home to rear him and one sister. He first touched a gun as a teen-ager, on a duck-hunting trip with a friend, and then not again until 1968, when he felt compelled to buy one. He was then living just outside Washington, and there were riots under way, and he suddenly felt a sense of helplessness in the chaos. He had a wife and the first of what would be four children. He wanted to know that he could protect them. A graduate of American University with a degree in political science, he worked in the late 1960s and early 1970s for various conservative policy groups before taking the helm of Gun Owners in 1976, one year after its inception. Initially a job, it turned into a crusade as he witnessed a growing number of restrictions over guns. He also came to associate with extremists in the militia movement, white supremacy groups and the violent fringes of anti-abortion militancy. When these ties were revealed in 1996, he was forced to step aside temporarily from his role as co-chairman of Pat Buchanan's campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. Pratt said he had merely given speeches to -- or appeared at events of -- the organizations in question and did not share their racist or anti-Semitic views. He simply wanted to talk to them about guns, he said. He said he has never been the victim of a violent crime, nor has any member of his family, though one of his daughters, then a teen-ager, was home alone at the family's house in Springfield about eight years ago when she saw a man who seemed to be casing the house. Pratt was out of town, but she called him to ask where the gun was. As he told her he felt relief. He said she did not have to use the

-Caveat Lector- Congress Reacts to School Shootings By DARLENE SUPERVILLE Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON (AP) Lawmakers reacted Wednesday to the Colorado shootings by dusting off stalled proposals for improved school security and urging passage of tougher gun control laws. Some members of Congress are seeking a ``national dialogue'' on school violence and asking for more prayer in schools. ``We should not wait for another incident to happen before we take some action,'' said Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M. He is sponsoring a bill that would set aside $10 million so schools could benefit from security measures developed at the Energy Department's Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico. Examples include electronic identification cards for students, instant drug detection equipment and mechanisms to prevent false fire alarms. Bingaman said an Albuquerque, N.M., high school participating in a pilot project with the lab has seen dramatic declines in violent, property and other crimes since 1997. Fifteen people were killed Tuesday in the shootings at a high school in the Denver suburb of Littleton. The killings prompted gun control advocates to renew calls for stricter gun laws. ``A teen-ager can only do so much damage with his fists,'' said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. But Rep. Bob Barr, R-Ga., the National Rifle Association's chief advocate in Congress, said the problems that create ``young demons'' like the Colorado shooters ``go far deeper'' than access to guns. He said Congress and the president only can do so much. ``The solution's going to have to come from our schools,'' Barr said. John Czwartacki, spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., noted Congress had set aside $60 million last year for a program to station police officers in schools. Sen. Jim Jeffords, R-Vt., chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, plans to go ahead with school safety hearings that already had been scheduled for May. One colleague, GOP Sen. John Ashcroft of Missouri, said Congress must re-examine federal laws that interfere with a school's ability to prevent such incidents. Another lawmaker, Rep. Jennifer Dunn, R-Wash., urged consideration of her proposal encouraging states to detain juveniles for at least 24 hours for bringing guns to school. But she, too, said a solution to the deadly combination of schools, students and guns lies not with Congress. Parents must be more involved with their children, she said. ``We need to talk to our children after they get home from school every night, at the dinner table, on weekends to find out what they're thinking, what they're feeling,'' Dunn said. Others called for a national discussion of school violence. ``We need to sit down together, and soon, to begin a meaningful conversation about the practical and concrete steps to be taken to prevent these tragedies,'' said Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon, where a 16-year-old is accused of killing his parents and fatally shooting two classmates at a high school in Springfield last May. Added Rep. Tim Roemer, D-Ind.: ``Let us have and engage in a national dialogue to stop this hatred and violence in our schools.'' From Rep. James Traficant Jr., D-Ohio, came a call for more prayer in school. ``People who pray together are not likely ... to kill one another,'' he said. Also Wednesday, the shootings at Columbine High School led two Colorado state lawmakers to withdraw gun proposals from the current legislative calendar. One measure, by Republican state Rep. Gary McPherson, would let state law override local ordinances on gun control. McPherson said he acted ``out of deference to the victims and their families. Now is not the time to have this debate.'' The Colorado House's majority leader, GOP state Rep. Doug Dean, was sponsoring a bill to simplify the issuance of permits for concealed weapons. Dean reported receiving calls at his Colorado Springs home, some of them with ``veiled threats,'' after the Littleton shootings. -- -- Maybe this disaster would have been cut short if all the adults in the school had exercised their 2nd Amendment right and been armed. I am pleased to be among political thinkers, and I hope, political activists ... fellow charioteers, if you will. My life has always been pretty active. I marched with Martin Luther King in 1963, long before Hollywood found it fashionable. Supporting civil rights then was about as popular as supporting gun rights is now. Yup, I'm currently the President of the National Rifle Association. Clearly, my views are not bound by political correctness. The thought police do not frighten me. I hope I frighten them. Since your Political Union debates follow traditional structure, my resolution would go something like this: Be it resolved that societal dishonesty can kill you. That is to say, a world without consequences is a world without truth, and that you can die from that lie. I believe that in your heart you already know something is profoundly wrong. When bartenders are responsible for drunk drivers' acts, and gunmakers are responsible for criminals' acts, and nobody is responsible for O. J. Simpson's acts, something is wrong. As students, you should search for truth. Your brain evolved to demand reality. It can best process information against an unchanging backdrop of certainty. But that's hard to find. Your world is all spin. Actions are further and further removed from consequences. Cause and effect are, at best, theoretical. Equal and opposite reactions are no longer PC. The Dow tops ten thousand, but our lives are not enriched. We enjoy unprecedented affluence, but our souls are impoverished. Our lungs inhale the rarefied air of prosperity, but our hearts yearn for nourishment. You lack that invisible anchor that tethered your grandparents to reality -- you know what I'm talking about. Our nation's abundance is like a narcotic that masks our malady -- we feel too good to acknowledge that we're sick. We're like the cocaine-snorting rock star, who dares not look in the mirror -- the ghoulish reflection would ruin the buzz. In his book "The End of Sanity," Martin Gross says, "blatantly irrational behavior is rapidly being established as the norm in almost every area of human endeavor. There seem to be new customs, new rules, new anti-intellectual theories regularly foisted on us from every direction. Underneath, the nation is roiling. Americans know something without a name is undermining the nation, turning the mind mushy when it comes to separating truth from falsehood and right from wrong. And they don't like it." Let me give you two good examples: This Administration's approach to crime and to war. Our government's duplicity proves my point. If you drove into Richmond, Virginia, today, you'd be greeted by billboards with giant words that say, "An illegal gun gets you five years in federal prison." These warn all felons that Project Exile is in effect. Project Exile simply enforces existing federal law. Project Exile means every convicted felon caught with a gun, no matter what he's doing, will go to prison for five years. No parole, no early releases, no discussion, period. My, my -- incarcerating armed felons. What a novel idea. It works, like no other anti-crime policy ever proposed. Project Exile, in its first year in Richmond, cut gun homicides by 62 percent. And as you'd expect, related gun crimes like robbery, rape and assault also plummeted. That means hundreds of people in Richmond today are alive and intact who, without Project Exile, would be dead or bleeding. For years the NRA has demanded that Project Exile be deployed nationwide. Makes sense, huh? The laws are already on the books. Just enforce them. But Bill Clinton won't do it. When he says he's serious about fighting crime, consider that as a matter of policy -- as a matter of policy - the Clinton Administration is not prosecuting violations of federal gun law. In fact, they reversed the Bush Administration's policy of prosecuting felons with guns. Instead, with plea bargains, a wink and a nod, they've been letting armed felons off the hook. From 1992 to 1998, prosecutions have been cut almost in half. So while Project Exile was saving lives in Richmond, federal prosecution for gun law violations everywhere else dropped by 46 percent. Such fraud could not happen without the news media's alliance in the dishonesty; it goes utterly unreported. Here are more examples. Everyone remembers the press's podium-pounding for Clinton's Crime Bill and its "urgently needed" juvenile gun transfer provisions. It became law. But nobody is reporting that, out of thousands of certain offenders, his Justice Department bothered to prosecute only five people in 1997 and six in 1998. Everyone remembers all the press support for his "desperately needed" semi-auto gun ban -- that outlawed guns based solely on their appearance. My wife grew up in Lexington, Mass., and direct ancestors of mine fought in the Revolution -- in fact, one of them was on the Green the day the shot heard around the world was fired. Patriots Day is, and should be special. Because today is Patriots Day, I'm refraining from my natural inclination to rail against the treachery, manipulations, and multiple sins of an administration staffed with morons, cowards, quislings, and hypocrites, to reflect on our nations strengths, rather than our weaknesses. Certain Congress critters may consider the Constitution and Bill of Rights as antique literature and akin to the clothes they have eaten themselves out of -- but frankly, they are wrong. The Constitution and Bill of Rights are not accoutrements, and subject to fashion. Those founding documents are the foundation upon which the greatest nation in the history of man was built. Those who would undermine, abrogate, or destroy the foundation, are in fact, the "domestic enemies" referenced in the very same oath most of they have taken. I was appalled, sickened, and more than a little PO'd, when five years ago I heard the President of the United States say, for God and everyone to hear, "When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans. ..." He went on to say, "And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities." I'm not making this up. This is NOT a parody or satire, or Ionessco play. Clinton actually said this on March 22, 1994 on MTV's "Enough is Enough." I hate that he said that. I am incensed that he believes it. Today is Patriots Day. The obvious questions a reasoning person will ask are Who gets to decide when personal freedom's being abused? Why DO you have to move to limit it? Who gets to limit freedom? By what measure? And how? Thelen Paulk wrote a wonderful piece called "Visitor from the Past" (click here for entire story). In it, his colonial visitor notes, "We fought a revolution, to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution, as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave, in this, the land of the free and the home of the brave." But Paulk's ghost from America past observes, "You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in choosing, how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. Your Christian values can't be taught, according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press. You pay a tax you do not owe, to please the foreign IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver, or of gold. You trade your wealth for paper, so your lives can be controlled." Gary Hildreth penned another inspiring piece which some claim is apocryphal. He started by asking and answering a question about a bunch of old dead white guys. Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence? Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War. They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. He continues with a litany of horror stories, and concludes, "These were not wild eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged: "For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor." They gave you and me a free and independent America. The history books never told you a lot of what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn't just fight the British. We were British subjects at that time and we fought our own government! Perhaps you can now see why our founding fathers had a hatred for standing armies, and allowed through the Second Amendment for everyone to be armed. Some of us take these liberties so much for granted. We shouldn't. The American Hospital Association and the Tennessee Hospital Association are outraged by the Feb. 24 seizures at four locations owned or operated by the 72-bed East Tennessee facility, Woods Memorial Hospital District, Etowah. "Send in the accountants with pocket protectors to seize the records Don't send in the FBI agents with guns and flak jackets," Craig Becker of the Tennessee Hospital Association told the Knoxville News--Sentinel. "This is inappropriate behavior," said Mary Grealy, chief counsel for the American Hospital Association. :I don't think this should ever occur at a hospital. This is not the same as if you were dealing with drugs or something like that. Hospital employees claim agents "constantly trampled through sterile areas" where patients receive dialysis treatment, wouldn't let them use the restore or answer a phone without permission and kept a dozen workers in a small room for about an hour while records were checked. The inspector general's office at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services oversaw the operation. Agents involved came from the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service, the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Judy Holz, a spokeswoman for the HHS' inspector general, disputed some of the employees' claims. She said no one was detained more than 10 minutes. "Our policy is to go in and cause minimal disruption and have utmost respect for both the patients and the employees," she said. Agents routinely carry weapons during a seizure, she said, in case they must "protect themselves...(or) control the environment." But hospital spokesman Chris Trew said, "This is a modern hospital facility with well-educated physicians, well-educated staff. There was no danger that was posed to these folks (agents). They did not have to come in armed." Holz said no charges have been filed in the Etowah hospital case, though such investigations can take two to five years. Meantime, the hospital groups are lobbying Congress to require the Justice Department to establish guidelines for future raids at hospitals so agents will have to leave their guns and bulletproof vests at the door. I have been watching the polls like everyone else since the start of the U.S. NATO aggression against Serbia and scratching my head wondering how it is possible that so many Americans support an illegal, immoral, incomprehensible, nonsensical war. Like many others, I assumed the polls must be rigged by the war-crazed establishment press that conducts them. So I decided last week we would conduct our own unbiased public opinion survey, with the help of the respected pollster John Zogby. The results were not encouraging for anyone hopeful Americans can hold on to the ideals that made their country free and independent. It seems Americans now believe they have a right -- perhaps even a duty -- to impose their will on a sovereign nation, even when the civil conflict has no direct bearing on the vital interests of our nation. Americans believe the president has the power to direct such military action unilaterally, without the approval of Congress and the assent of the people. Americans, by a slim majority, even believe President Clinton, despite all his many moral and ethical shortcomings, and his failure to serve the military when called, is capable of directing such action. Watching the effects of 30 years of the deliberate dumbing-down of a people is not a pretty sight. Americans are now certifiably insane. They are crazy. They are suffering a mass psychosis. They have lost their own ability to discern right from wrong. According to the WorldNetDaily/Zogby survey conducted last week, Americans conclude Bill Clinton possesses the moral authority and character to lead the United States and its military through a protracted engagement in the Balkans. True, it's hardly a mandate to wage war, with the majority representing only 50.2 percent. But it's still shocking to me. I don't meet people on a daily basis who believe that. I hear from them by e-mail. I see them on talking-head shows. But I don't meet real Americans who believe that -- so I assumed they represented a small minority of the population. It turns out the polls conducted by CNN, Washington Post, ABC, Time, and the rest are not out of line. Americans can no longer think for themselves. Their minds have been co-opted by government propaganda. This is an extremely dangerous development for the well-being of our nation. In analyzing the results of the key question, Zogby said, "It still wasn't a substantial vote of confidence. I mean, the country is almost evenly split on whether or not he has the moral authority, and that suggests a president whose wings have been fairly clipped." Not clipped enough, Mr. Zogby. Not nearly enough. The poll also found that 53.9 percent of those polled believe that the bombing of civilian infrastructure targets in Yugoslavia, such as water and power supplies, is justified. It should be pointed out that Zogby added some, in my opinion, "loaded words" to the question as originally phrased by WorldNetDaily. He asked if such bombing was justified to "save lives." Nevertheless, given the response to the first question, I don't think the results would be dramatically different without that phrase. Democrats and Republicans alike agreed with the idea that the bombings are justified -- even after seeing the effects of the bombings and the resultant increase in civilian deaths. Zogby says the numbers are understandable in light of what most Americans have been seeing through media coverage of the war. "What they were seeing was Americans being taken hostage, tens of thousands of people being dislocated somewhere between 'no-man's land' and Macedonia, and a defiant Milosevic," Zogby said. "Within this context, I think that it's fairly easy to see why a majority would say, 'Go for it.'" I was more hopeful that Americans were smarter than that. Finally, only 23.9 percent of those surveyed believe Clinton ordered the bombing attacks as a distraction from the growing Chinagate scandal. Another 64 percent did not believe that was a factor. Other surveys show this slim majority breaking down should Americans begin suffering serious casualties in the Balkans war. In other words, they approve of a war in which we inflict death and destruction on others, but will not accept any sacrifice themselves. If that is not a surreal and arrogant expectation of war, I don't know what is. Have you ever watched a nation go mad before? -Caveat Lector- New Order of Barbarians Part I The recollections of Dr. Lawrence Dunegan regarding a lecture he attended on March 20, 1969 at a meeting of the Pittsburgh Pediatric Society. The lecturer at that gathering of pediatricians was a Dr. Richard Day (who died in 1989). At the time Dr. Day was Professor of Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. Previously he had served as Medical Director of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Dr. Dunegan was formerly a student of Dr. Day at the University of Pittsburgh and was well acquainted with him. He describes Dr. Day as an insider of the "Order" and although Dr. Dunegan's memory was somewhat dimmed by the intervening years, he is able to provide enough details of the lecture to enable any enlightened person to discern the real purposes behind the trends of our time... the NEW ORDER OF BARBARIANS IS THERE A POWER, A FORCE OR A GROUP OF MEN ORGANIZING AND REDIRECTING CHANGE? There has been much written, and much said, by some people who have looked at all the changes that have occurred in American society in the past 20 years or so, and who have looked retrospectively to earlier history of the United States, and indeed, of the world, and come to the conclusion that there is a conspiracy of sorts which influences, indeed controls. major historical events, not only in the United States, but around the world. This conspiratorial interpretation of history is based on people making observations from the outside, gathering evidence and coming to the conclusion that from the outside they see a conspiracy. Their evidence and conclusions are based on evidence gathered in retrospect. Period. I want to now describe what I heard from a speaker in 1969 which in several weeks will now be 20 years ago. The speaker did not speak in terms of retrospect, but rather predicting changes that would be brought about in the future. The speaker was not looking from the outside in, thinking that he saw conspiracy, rather, he was on the inside, admitting that, indeed, there was an organized power, force, group of men, who wielded enough influence to determine major events involving countries around the world. And he predicted, or rather expounded on, changes that were planned for the remainder of this century. As you listen, if you can recall the situation, at least in the United States in 1969 and the few years there after, and then recall the kinds of changes which have occurred between then and now, almost 20 years later, I believe you will be impressed with the degree to which the things that were planned to be brought about have already been accomplished. Some of the things that were discussed were not intended to be accomplished yet by 1988. [Note: the year of this recording] but are intended to be accomplished before the end of this century. There is a timetable; and it was during this session that some of the elements of the timetable were brought out. Anyone who recalls early in the days of the Kennedy Presidency .. the Kennedy campaign .. when he spoke of .. progress in the decade of the 60's": that was kind of a cliché in those days - "the decade of the 60's." Well, by 1969 our speaker was talking about the decade of the 70's, the decade of the 80's, and the decade of the 90's. So that .. I think that terminology that we are looking at .. looking at things and expressing things, probably all comes from the same source. Prior to that time I don't remember anybody saying "the decade of the 40's and the decade of the 50's. So I think this overall plan and timetable had taken important shape with more predictability to those who control it, sometime in the late 50's. That's speculation on my part. In any event, the speaker said that his purpose was to tell us about changes which would be brought about in the next 30 years or so...so that an entirely new world-wide system would be in operation before the turn of the century. As he put it, "We plan to enter the 21st Century with a running start." [emphasis supplied] "EVERYTHING IS IN PLACE AND NOBODY CAN STOP US NOW..." He said, as we listened to what he was about to present, he said, "Some of you will think I'm talking about Communism. Well, what I'm talking about is much bigger than Communism!" At that time he indicated that there is much more cooperation between East and West than most people realize. In his introductory remarks he commented that he was free to speak at this time. He would not have been able to say what he was about to say, even a few years earlier. But he was free to speak at this time because now, and I'm quoting here, "everything is in place and nobody can stop us now." That's the end of that quotation. He went on to say that most people don't understand how governments operate and even people in high positions in governments, including our own, don't really understand how and where decisions are made. -Caveat Lector- New Order of Barbarians Part II NO MORE SECURITY Nothing is permanent. Streets would be rerouted, renamed. Areas you had not seen in a while would become unfamiliar. Among other things, this would contribute to older people feeling that it was time to move on, they feel they couldn't even keep up with the changes in areas that were once familiar. Buildings would be allowed to stand empty and deteriorate, and streets would be allowed to deteriorate in certain localities. The purpose of this was to provide the jungle, the depressed atmosphere for the unfit. Somewhere in this same connection he mentioned that buildings and bridges would be made so that they would collapse after a while, there would be more accidents involving airplanes and railroads and automobiles. All of this to contribute to the feeling of insecurity, that nothing was safe. Not too long after this presentation, and I think one or two even before in the area where I live, we had some newly constructed bridge to break; another newly constructed bridge defect discovered before it broke, and I remember reading just scattered incidents around the country where shopping malls would fall in right where they were filled with shoppers, and I remember that one of the shopping malls in our area, the first building I'd ever been in where you could feel this vibration throughout the entire building when there were a lot of people in there, and I remember wondering at that time whether this shopping mall was one of the buildings he was talking about. Talking to construction people and architects about it they would say ' "Oh no, that's good when the building vibrates like that, that means it's flexible not rigid." Well, maybe so, we'll wait and see. Other areas there would be well maintained. Not every part of the city would be slums. CRIME USED TO MANAGE SOCIETY There would be the created slums and other areas well maintained. Those people able to leave the slums for better areas then would learn to better appreciate the importance of human accomplishment. This meant that if they left the jungle and came to civilization, so to speak, they could be proud of their own accomplishments that they made it. There was no related sympathy for those who were left behind in the jungle of drugs and deteriorating neighborhoods. Then a statement that was kind of surprising: We think we can effectively limit crime to the slum areas, so it won't be spread heavily into better areas. I should maybe point out here that these are obviously not word for word quotations after 20 years, but where I say that I am quoting, I am giving the general drift of what was said close to word for word, perhaps not precisely so. But anyhow I remember wondering, how can he be so confident that the criminal element is going to stay where he wants it to stay? But he went on to say that increased security would be needed in the better areas. That would mean more police, better coordinated police efforts. He did not say so, but I wondered at that time about the moves that were afoot to consolidate all the police departments of suburbs around the major cities. I think the John Birch Society was one that was saying "Support your local police, don't let them be consolidated." and I remember wondering if that was one of the things he had in mind about security. It was not explicitly stated. But anyhow he went on to say there would be a whole new industry of residential security systems to develop with alarms and locks and alarms going into the police department so that people could protect their wealth and their well being. Because some of the criminal activity would spill out of the slums into better, more affluent looking areas that looked like they would be worth burglarizing. And again it was stated like it was a redeeming quality: See we're generating all this more crime but look how good we are - we're also generating the means for you to protect yourself against the crime. A sort of repeated thing throughout this presentation was the recognized evil and then the self forgiveness thing, well, see we've given you a way out. CURTAILMENT OF AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL PRE-EMINENCE American industry came under discussion - it was the first that I'd heard the term global interdependence or that notion. The stated plan was that different parts of the world would be assigned different roles of industry and commerce in a unified global system. The continued pre-eminence of the United States and the relative independence and self-sufficiency of the United States would have to be changed. This was one of the several times that he said in order to create a new structure, you first have to tear down the old, and American industry was one example of that. Our system would have to be curtailed in order to give other countries a chance to build their industries, because otherwise they would not be able to compete against the United States. And this was especially true of our heavy

-Caveat Lector- VOUCHERS: THE PARENT TRAP Who will have the fundamental right of educating children: parents or politicians? By Cathie Adams, president of Texas Eagle Forum Virtually every candidate for political office claims that if we elect him, he will fix public education, and since 92% of our children attend public schools, such political promises appeal to almost everyone. Those political promises have led to a multitude of unproven education fads introduced in public school classrooms, but there is one idea that has yet to overcome political opposition: vouchers, a.k.a. school choice. There are two major sources of opposition for the idea: teachers' unions who are afraid of losing part of their funding and those who hold to free market ideals and oppose government regulations. Voucher supporters claim they would create competition for the public schools and thereby improve them. But columnist Charlie Reese sums it up nicely: "Government schools cannot compete in any sense of the word. They are government schools, creatures of law and politics. Faculty, its pay, and the curricula are determined not by the schools, but by politicians, bureaucrats and, in some cases judges. To state that public schools can compete with private schools is like saying a bronze statue of a horse can compete with a live one." In reality, public funding would destroy private education. Saralee Rhoades outlines why in The Freeman, a newsletter published by The Foundation for Economic Education: Private schools will become dependent on this new source of money and in time unable to exist without it. Private schools electing to safeguard their freedoms, not taking advantage of "free" money, will not be able to compete. When the only schools left are government schools, is there any assurance that the quality of public schooling will not precipitously decline as it has before? The resultant government monopoly will preclude any form of competitive standards. Costs will skyrocket as offices are set up nationwide to monitor the expenditure of government funds, protect students from exploitation, and expand services as further needs arise. Eventually the aim will be the maintenance of the program, not the education of children. Compliance with government policy and maintenance of the status quo will assume greater and greater importance, as more workers become dependent on government-subsidized salaries. The bottom line is that government cannot fix the educational problem because government is the problem. Some insist that voucher legislation can be written to protect private schools. Chester Finn, chief architect of the National Goals (presented in former President Bush's America 2000 plan and President Clinton's Goals 2000) and a voucher advocate refutes the claim. "Some to be sure, like to think they can have it both ways; i.e. can obtain aid without saddling themselves with unacceptable forms of regulation. But most acknowledge the general applicability of the old adage that he who pays the piper calls the tune, and are more or less resigned to amalgamating or choosing between assistance or autonomy." Texas voucher supporters believe that if legislation denies federal funds, then private schools would be free from government strings. In 1995, the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 1 and created the Texas Workforce Commission that have brought about systemic reforms required by federal education laws, Goals 2000 and School-to-Work. The Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS) is being restructured to come into compliance with the rewrite of Texas' essential elements into performance standards/outcomes called Texas Essential Knowledge and Skillsall an outgrowth of the federal programs. It is logical that if private and public schools are answerable to the same bureaucracies, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Texas Comptroller, then they will both be controlled by the federal government programs. State regulation is guaranteed. Governor George W. Bush has said, "I believe we ought to try a pilot voucher program that is tied to our accountability system [the TAAS test]." Rather than public schools being forced to compete in an education market place with private schools, the private schools would be forced to conform to the same outcome-based standards and performance-based tests prescribed for every public school by both federal and state governments. Ronald Trowbridge, vice-president for external programs and communications at Hillsdale College in Michigan, wrote in The Wall Street Journal "If government vouchers are extended to private primary and secondary schools, truly private schools in five, 10, 15 or 20 years will become virtually extinct." Courts have broadened government control over private schools that take government funds. The infamous Grove City College vs. Bell case decided that even though the GI bill funds went directly to a student rather than a school, it came under federal regulations.

This received a great deal of press attention, coming as it did just before mid-term elections that were expected to determine a modern philandering president's fate. At the same time, Joe Ellis, the author of the article, signed a full-page newspaper advertisement against the impeachment of Bill Clinton. Ellis calls the reappearance of the alleged Jefferson scandal "impeccable timing," being far too modest about his role in it. The affair with the slave was also the theme of the film, Jefferson in Paris. Clintonites have long telegraphed their intention of smearing America's early presidents in the hope of making the current one appear less despicable. But Ellis' charge is untrue, and the best efforts of his geneticist collaborators are useless window-dressing. Since the American mainstream media have taken the headline of the genetics article as gospel truth and have ignored disclaimers and flaws throughout, the allegation against Jefferson must be rebutted. Historical truth and competent science are more important than the "legacy" of Bill Clinton. It is not an exaggeration to say that semi-educated Americans have, as a result of the media barrage (and the obscurity of the original article), now decided that Thomas Jefferson fathered at least one child through his slave, "surely as heinous an act as sex-games with an intern." The accusation fooled even the Conservative columnists Joseph Sobran and William F. Buckley Jr. Since the Clintonites have continually argued that their troubles stem only from "lying about sex," the rest of us must waste valuable time on an otherwise trivial historical subject. Fortunately, Ellis's article to the contrary, no previous president, including Thomas Jefferson, can hold a candle (or a cigar) to the sexual corruption of the current occupant of the White House. _ NO OTHER PRESIDENT CAN HOLD A CANDLE OR A CIGAR TO THE CORRUPTION OF THE CURRENT ONE _ The "study" published in Nature consisted of a little over a page of genetic speculation and an editorial by Ellis, also a little over a page, of Clinton apologetics masquerading as history. Every competent history student or teacher knows the allegations concerning Jefferson and Sally Hemings. Yet one Clintonite was given time on National Public Radio to announce that, until Ellis' piece, "white historians" had engaged in a vast conspiracy to obliterate any suspicion of the affair. If such a plot existed, it was spectacularly unsuccessful, as the original accusation was widely published in newspapers in 1802 (at the beginning of Jefferson's first term as president), regularly reprinted (and regularly rebutted), dwelt on at length in every biography of Jefferson since the first one during his lifetime, and repeated throughout the rest of the 19th and 20th centuries, in high-school textbooks, a best-selling bodice-ripper, screen presentations, and, finally, two full-length history books devoted exclusively to the alleged scandal, both of which were widely reviewed. Even tour guides at Monticello mention the scandal, though dismissively. In Jefferson's time, guests at Monticello were fully aware that almost all the family's house servants, adult and child, were "quadroons" and"octaroons" (not "mulattos," as is commonly said). Being only one-fourth, one-eighth or, in some cases, one-sixteenth of African descent, most of them could, in the phrase of the day, "pass for white." Yet none of Jefferson's numerous and highly influential visitors ever accused him, privately or publicly, of sexual misconduct, nor was there any scandal until the fateful year of 1802, when the notorious James T. Callender came along. He was a Scot who, facing trial for sedition in London in the 1790s, fled to America. He became a writer for the Philadelphia Gazette, the house organ of the (original) Republican party, the faction founded by Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson was delighted with Callender's vicious, if unfounded, attacks on luminaries of the rival Federalist party. Callender called Washington a "scandalous hypocrite" who "authorized the robbery and ruin of his own army" in the Revolution, and John Adams "a British spy." He also slandered Madison. But none of the mud ever seemed to stick. Callender's first modest success was when he accused Alexander Hamilton of embezzling funds from the Treasury while serving as its secretary. -Caveat Lector- As I write this, the skies over Fayetteville, Ft.Bragg, Pope AFB, NC are covered with crisscross contrails and there are several jets at high altitude flying in straight lines going back and forth leaving trails. This morning they were plastering the skies over Sampson, Jones, Cumberland, Hoke, Moore, Bladen and Robeson county. The skies were clear this morning and now the skies are hazy with spread out contrails, yet you can still make out the checkerboard type pattern. Over the last two weeks, the same thing has happened over south-eastern North Carolina and ALL of South Carolina. These jets have been over N. and S. Carolina everyday for 3 weeks producing crisscross contrail clouds except wed. and Thurs. of this week because of high winds and thunder storms. If you live in eastern N.Carolina, look to the skies right now(Fri. 5th, 1425hrs) and you will see the jets and contrails. Being male, I've observed contrails all of my life and have lived within 150 miles of military installations all of that time. Ordinary contrails are usually singles or perhaps 2 to 3 in PARALLEL. What I saw on Saturday were INTERSECTING. One formation could be described as a Pi symbol with an enlongated top line, or maybe more accurately, the bottom third of a tic-tac-toe field. To the left was a large, perfect X sitting on the horizon. To the right was another smaller and less perfect X. There were short, straight, horizontal contrails randomly all around these figures. I didn't see any aircraft; certainly there weren't 30 of them. What I can testify to is that I have NEVER in my life seen contrails like this. It was also my perception that the contrails were spreading in a more billowly fashion that normal and seemed to be holding together rather than disapating into sparce whisps like others that I have been familiar with. Don't know what to make of this but I do know that what I saw was, IMHO, highly unusual. BTW, had I had a camera on hand I would have photographed them, but wasn't that fortunate. Vol. 15, No. 11 -- March 22, 1999 www.insightmag.com The Evil Twins By Stephen Goode and Eli Lehrer Under the banner of Marxism, Josef Stalin in Russia and Mao Tse-tung in China slaughtered many millions in an attempt socially to engineer the perfect society. There can be no doubt about it. If a contest were held to determine the era that has experienced the world's cruelest and most ruthless tyrants, the 20th century would win hands down. Adolf Hitler's slaughter of more than 6 million Jews, gypsies, gays, political opponents and others alone makes our century rank among the bloodiest on record. But Hitler's misdeeds, horrendous as they were, are only part of the picture of 20th-century horrors -- a picture that is vastly enlarged by the atrocities of two other men, each of whose victims far outnumber those of Hitler and whose pernicious influence on our century outweighs even that of the Nazi dictator. As bad as he was, Hitler ruled Germany for only 12 years. Josef Stalin, whose victims number in the tens of millions, was top man in the Soviet Union for a quarter-century. Mao Tse-tung, who ruled Communist China with an iron fist and reckless will for 27 years, left behind a tally of dead that is greater even than Stalin's. "Hitler is really a distant third when you compare these three horrible dictators of the 20th century," Yeshiva University history professor Albert Marrin tells Insight. Marrin, who has written biographies of all three tyrants, ranks Mao and Stalin as equals in perfidy: "If people are more tolerant about Mao," he says, "it's just ignorance. There's absolutely nothing to it. People know less about Mao. He was a pathological killer, no better than Stalin." How many died at the hands of Stalin and Mao? No one knows for certain -- times were too chaotic; mass murderers don't always keep meticulous records -- but estimates abound. A census taken in the USSR in January 1937, for example, was suppressed and its figures never made public until 1989, during the Soviet Union's last years. What the suppressed 1937 census revealed was a deficit of 15 million to 16 million people -- victims of Stalin's policies during the first decade of his coming to power. (Stalin characteristically announced publicly that the census had been sabotaged by his opponents. Secretly, he had those "responsible" for the "sabotage" put to death.) The 15 million or 16 million "missing" Soviet citizens only are a portion of those who suffered under Stalin, however. Historians now know that on Dec. 12, 1937, alone, Stalin and his deputy, Vyacheslav Molotov, approved the executions of 3,167 men and women; after they were done, the duo went off to the movies. And that slaughter was only a small salvo in what was to be known later as the Great Terror, during which millions of Soviet citizens were murdered or thrown into concentration camps (or both) in the Far North or Siberia -- and a terror that Stalin ordered directed at society as a whole to instill fear in all his subjects precisely by the irrationality and injustice of the killings and imprisonments. The figures for China under Mao are equally staggering. "In 1958-60 some 20 million to 30 million people lost their lives through malnutrition and famine because of the policies imposed upon them by the Chinese Communist Party," write historians John King Fairbank and Merle Goldman in the opening of their chapter on Mao Tse-tung's "Great Leap Forward," in their book China: A New History, published in 1998. Twenty million to 30 million is an enormous figure, but even that is not the final tally on Mao's victims: The same authors estimate that the victims of the Cultural Revolution undertaken by the Red Guards (bands of teenagers acting at Mao's instigation) in the mid-1960s "now hover around a million, of whom a considerable number did not survive." And if we go back even earlier, to 1949-51, where figures are very sketchy, we find historians estimating the death toll as a result of Mao's earliest policies during his first two years as dictator to range from lows of 1 million to 3 million to as high as 15 million. Why all this slaughter? Part of the reason can be found in Marxism. "Both men were ideologues," says Marrin. Both men (as far as we can tell) were convinced -- as genuine Marxists must be -- that they were in possession of all the knowledge necessary to form the perfect society. All that was lacking was the will -- what Danton called the audacity -- to create that society. Following Marx, Stalin and Mao saw society as something that could be molded and perfected by men and women willing to take the steps necessary to do that molding and perfecting, whatever those steps might be --slaughtering whole classes of people regarded as enemies of the revolution, for example -- and not shying from any task of social engineering, as long as it was done in the name of the revolution. Edgar Hoover and the FBI maintained a detailed dossier on Adolf Hitler and closely investigated any report that indicated he still was alive. Adolf Hitler lives -- in cyberspace, that is, where 734 pages of Hitler's raw FBI file can be downloaded from the Internet. The files contain speeches, rare photographs, old newspaper clippings, details about discovery of the Führer's personal notes and chinaware and assassination plots -- as well as an extensive 11-year probe into the possibility that Hitler faked his own death with a bogus suicide in 1945. At times these files read like a supermarket tabloid, with outrageous conspiracy theories that remind readers that FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover was a suspicious man. At other times, the files reveal how serious the FBI considered allegations that one of this century's most evil despots may have escaped his Berlin bunker. The records begin with President Franklin Roosevelt becoming enraged upon learning of a 1933 New York conspiracy to kill Hitler and continue into the fifties with a Western Union telegram declaring, "I have positive proof that Hitler is living." There are seven volumes of these records. A photographic exhibit of Hitler in uniform dominates the final volume. Scattered throughout are clippings from newspapers. The last story is a 1956 article about the plans of Hitler's sister, Paula Wolf, to write a book about her brother to "set some facts straight" as soon as a Munich court declares her brother dead. "The readers will forgive me," she says, "if I abstain from depicting my brother at all costs as a wicked character just for the sake of profit." An accompanying Associated Press article noted boldly, "He Is Officially Alive 'Til Court Issues Certificate." As for that Western Union tipster, the FBI never tracked down the sender nor did it ever identify the members of the 1933 conspiracy plot to kill Hitler. But that plot sure kept Hoover's G-men busy. The file reveals that the plot began when the German Embassy asked the State Department to initiate an investigation based upon a letter signed by a "Daniel Stern," which said that unless FDR rebuked Hitler for his outrages against Jews, then "I notify you that I shall go to Germany and assassinate Hitler." The State Department handed off the probe to the FBI, which never found Stern. But the probe opened the door for Hoover to look at pro-Nazi organizations. Don Whitehead, one of the few authors to research the plot, wrote about it in his book, The FBI Story, A Report to the People. He calls it a "diplomatic fumble" by the German ambassador in Washington, who probably wished he never had called the State Department. That's because Hoover's investigation ultimately became "a valuable reference when the Department of Justice requested additional investigations. And Hoover passed the information to the president," Whitehead observes. All of this is in Hitler's FBI file --even Whitehead's observations -- and now is available at www.fbi.gov. Between the poor copies -- some nearly impossible to read because, says FBI Freedom of Information Officer Linda Gloss, the copies were not made from originals -- and the heavy black ink blocking out what today still is considered classified, there rests a fascinating tale of the FBI's role during the World War II era. For example, deep in the files are a series of memos written by Hoover on Oct. 5, 1939, reviewing intelligence from a confidential informant. The Hoover memos to various U.S. military-intelligence agencies and the president's chief of staff warned of future Japanese aggression and Germany's attack on France. "The Japanese will attack British Indochina and other colonies without warning, simultaneously with the German advance on France," Hoover wrote. And there is ample evidence in the files to undermine rumors that Hitler's personal physician tried to poison him or "administer narcotics that might have contributed to the impairment of Hitler's health" or that "Hitler inherited certain [psychophysical] traits in his childhood and later on, and that these might account for his crimes and other actions," according to an FBI investigation into the matter. The FBI's Hitler files have been available for some time to anyone who cared to schedule an appointment at FBI headquarters in Washington, but few have done so. Two recent critically acclaimed books, Hitler: Diagnosis of a Destructive Prophet by Fritz Redlich and Explaining Hitler by Ron Rosenbaum, fail to mention the FBI files -- although some of the records used to support these authors' opinions, such as Hitler's medical records, are duplicated in the files from other sources. Redlich and Rosenbaum may have avoided Hitler's FBI file because some of the information there concerns allegations that border on

Why did Terchie lie about a "Special State of Emergency " being declared in North Carolina? Did Philip Rogers shine at a military chopper operating in violation of Posse Comitatus? Has the shooter into the compound been allowed to quietly return to Andrews? Why? Why are we just now hearing about the suspension of Miranda in a recent DOJ case? These are just a few of the questions I'll try to answer for you, in this report. It has really bothered me since Agent Terchie told the "big lie" about the Special State of Emergency being declared in western North Carolina. (Not that a lying FBI is anything new, reference, Waco, Ruby Ridge, the infamous lab and too many other cases to list.) I wondered, why the FBI illegally confiscated Ramon Sparks' helicopter photos, after he was brutalized, illegally detained and had his vehicle illegally searched w/o warrant. All for the simple act of driving his neighbor, Philip Rogers to the Police station to surrender for allegedly, shining a toy laser on a chopper. In the police station parking lot, both men were brutalized. Do we now dispense justice to the accused during an arrest and prior to a trial in AmeriKa? This event just so happened to occur minutes after the Feds compound/fire base was fired into. And merely a day after the feds had denied their choppers were the ones harassing Citizens, saying their choppers were unable to fly at night. Rogers recently refused a plea agreement with the feds for his alleged prank. He was arrested, but not read the Miranda rights and was assigned to a probation officer and sent for a drug test upon release from jail, all with- out even being tried and convicted. His charges should have been immediately dropped. He was incarcerated with many North Carolinians who had been in jail for some time, who had never been read their Miranda. Of course we never heard this from the media. Only recently have they mentioned one unrelated case where the DOJ feels they didn't have to use Miranda. Yet it's been happening in Andrews for nearly a year. Sometimes as I write this and am aware of the facts, it's hard for me to believe this is still America. Now let me clear up the dispute as to whether Rogers interfered with a federal agent or a military operation, operating outside the bounds of Posse Comitatus under Terchie's command. Documented copies I obtained from Ramon, show a clear picture of what has been an ongoing illegal law-enforce- ment/joint military operation foisted on the Citizens of Andrews and America. (see footnotes) Never were the medivac choppers to be used in law enforcement activity. They were for the extraction of injured agents from the rough terrain - - Not to be used for gung ho agents to repel and train for military/law enforcement maneuvers - - And also not for use against the citizenry in carrying out law enforcement activities. Do we still have the rule of law in this country or not? It is truly a sad day for America, to see FEMA and the Dept. of Justice commanding and leading our individual state National Guard and Reserves in operations used against "We the People." Strange, I thought our nations framers designed a country where the government was to serve the people and we were to have sovereign states. Am I that bad at remembering my history lessons, or has something sinister happened to our nation? Should not we as Citizens rein in these tyrants and expose their evil deeds? Do we have any redress left in this country? America, love it or FIX IT, I say! Now let's examine some of the implications here besides the obvious Posse Comitatus violations, in the use of the military choppers and crews against the Citizens. The FBI/HRT trains with Delta Force and others. Can FBI not afford their own choppers for evacuating injured agents? I can assure you money is no object in this unlimited budget operation. Instead we see an emergence, training and practice of combining law enforcement/military into one operation. We also see here, one State Governor willing to send his National Guard personnel and equipment into the state of another to serve the Federal Government. In this case Ga. into NC. They get good training and indoctri- nation of military, as well as law enforcement personnel, into working together by combining them into a new buzz word MJTF. This word now used commonly in military and law enforcement circles (i.e., Southeast Bomb Task Force or SBTF). Apparently, giving Agent Terchie or someone, the ability to order military assets against "We the People." And why not, these agents haven't read a copy of the Constitution since high school. By studying the typology of the anomalous structures on Cydonia, the geometry and the numbers encoded therein, one can gain insight into the identity of the builders. These anomalies resemble monumental structures : a sphinx-like face, a huge five sided pyramid, a complex of over 12 smaller pyramids resembling a city, and a strange mile wide, 500 foot high seemingly artificial mound, complete with a peripheral ditch and central spiral groove. When a line is drawn connecting the centers of the pentagonal pyramid, the city, and the face, an equilateral triangle is formed. The length of each side of this triangle is 1/360th of the total polar diameter of the planet Mars (Richard C. Hoagland, The Monuments of Mars, Illustration. # 30). The number 360 connotes a 360 degree circuit, a full circle . The use of a 360 degree calibration, and the symbol of the circle, are linked to the Gospel via the signs of the Zodiac. The twelve signs of the Zodiac are each spaced 30 degrees apart or 12 x 30 = 360 (E.W. Bullinger, The Witness of the Stars p. 10). These numbers are significant in typology: 12 = "governmental perfection", 10 = "the number of ordinal perfection", x 3 = "the number of God" ( E.W.Bullinger, Number in Scripture p. 3). Using this system, 360 degrees on a circle is both the point of beginning and of ending. 360 is the "completion of the whole" and thus the circle typifies righteousness. The number 360 encoded in the triangle of monuments on Cydonia demonstrates a dichotomy. The length of the sides of the triangle typologically demonstrates "perfection", while at the same time declaring "judgment" (Ibid. p. 2). Each angle of an equilateral triangle has 60 degrees. The 60 degree angle demonstrates not only 10 = "Perfection of Order", but also 6 = "the number of man and sin". When all the angles of the triangle are added together, the numbers 60, 60, 60, add up to 180. When traversing a circle of 360 degrees, 180 degree point is only half way around. In this sense 180 typifies " man in direct opposition to God". Man's state of imperfection and sin renders him in a direction away from "completion" and "perfection" . The meaning of 180 is clear, 9 = "the number of judgment" x 2 = "the number of division" , x 10 = "God's ordinal perfection". Judgment is the pervading theme typified in the geometric layout of the Mars monuments. As ominous as the meaning of the equilateral triangle is, the complete message of the Cydonia complex provides a provision and an escape from God' s ultimate judgment. This provision can be found in the typology of the number 19.5. 19.5 - Judgment Past Future For the purpose of studying the typology of the heavens referred to within Cydonia's lay out, imagine a triangle superimposed within the great "Circle of the Zodiac". Sagittarius, the 4th in the sequence of the zodiac, has the number which represents "creation". Sagittarius also symbolizes the "dual natured one", a type of Christ -- both God and God made flesh. Only a week after the Wall Street Journal published a story of how Clinton allegedly raped Broaddrick, members of ShadowGov have organized themselves in such a way that 10 representatives of the group will be at designated courthouses in cities across the nation. These cities include Anchorage, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, New York, Orlando, Sacramento and Washington, DC. Once in front of the courthouses, the various groups plan to be picketing for about an hour and will be handing out press releases and leaflets. Black banners six feet long that have the president's picture on it and the word "rapist" will also be displayed during the picketing. In an attempt to send a strong message to the country's judicial system, the picketers will be wearing T-shirts that say "Judge Rightly is not some guy's name" on the back. On the front of the shirts will be the group's website -- ShadowGov.com. Bob Enyart, a television and radio talk show host in Denver, Colo., and a spokesperson for ShadowGov, said, "The Republicans have lost their moral leadership. They need others to tell them what to do and show them how to do it. ShadowGov is ready." In an effort to get their protest kits out fast enough to the various cities across the country, ShadowGov has been shipping them by overnight deliveries, when possible. I believe Juanita. And, I would dare say, 95 percent of Americans in their heart of hearts do as well. There's just no reason not to find her credible. In a he-said-she-said contest, Clinton's got to lose. He's played all his cards. He's denied the undeniable one-too-many times. It's time to recall the arguments against impeachment and conviction the last time around. "It's about consensual sex," we heard over and over again ad nauseum. Well, folks, this isn't. This is about force, about coercion, about violence, about rape. "It doesn't rise to the level of a high crime or misdemeanor," we heard repeated on every talking head show night after night, week after week. Well, how about rape? Does that rise to the level of a high crime or misdemeanor, Barney Frank? It's time to put on trial those clowns who stood by their man despite overwhelming evidence of perjury and obstruction of justice. What are they going to say about Juanita Broaddrick? That the statute of limitations has run out? What's a little rape between friends? I'd love to hear the rationalizations this time. But, of course, there's no sign we will ever hear any explanations from Clinton's chorus in Congress or from the commander-in-cheat himself. There's only one thing that can force them to defend the indefensible -- a spontaneous uprising by the American people. They've got to say it loud and say it clear: We've had enough. It's time for abuser-in-chief to go. I don't care about "political realities." I don't care that it may be impossible to get 67 votes in the Senate if this guy murdered a saint on live television. I don't care that another impeachment case would be a distraction. Let me tell you about realpolitick. The Congress of the United States and the court of public opinion are the only avenues left for justice -- for Juanita Broaddrick and for the rest of America. America cannot tolerate a rapist in the White House. And Bill Clinton is not denying Juanita Broaddrick's charges. He won't even acknowledge them. He sends his lawyers out to make parsed denials. He's betting that Americans have so lost their moral bearings that they won't demand accountability. If feminists and the religious right can't get together on this one, they will never agree on anything again. If this doesn't bridge the gender gap, it's unbridgeable. If Clinton gets away with this one, add another felony to the list of offenses -- perjury, abuse of power and now rape -- that have been effectively decriminalized by Clinton's blind partisan supporters. There is no middle ground on this one. If you believe Juanita Broaddrick, then you have to act to remove Clinton. Rape cannot be tolerated. We cannot be apathetic about sexual predators in high office. On the other hand, for those true believers who continue to stand by their man, why are you not demanding that Clinton explain himself, tell where he was at the time of the alleged attack, present his alibis, clear the air? When was the last time you heard of a man accused of rape issuing a "no comment"? Put yourself in that position: If you were unjustly accused of such a heinous crime, how would you react? Would you casually dismiss questions when the entire country is talking about it? Does that sound logical? Remember how Clinton reacted so angrily and publicly about the far less serious charge of adultery with Monica Lewinsky. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky," he exhorted emphatically. Of course, it was a lie. But he behaved in a reasonable way for a man pretending to be falsely accused. Let's at least demand to see another show, another lie. We deserve that much. Or maybe we don't. Maybe America is getting just what it deserves in Bill Clinton. Every day more power accrues to Washington, and the only thing holding back tyranny is the benevolence of the rulers we select. Assume the best of Clinton: can you trust the next President -- can you trust every imaginable future President -- to be so benevolent, now that it is clear a high approval rating allows every crime to go unpunished, perhaps even unreported? This is now the witching hour. The acquittal is a benchmark, the point at which men supposedly of honor finally, irrevocably abandoned their oaths. That benchmark is the defining moment of the new American reality: from that point forward, one either stands openly for justice and for liberty, or openly for privilege and dishonor. Yet despite everything, it is precisely this which ought give us hope, hope for lasting renewal. Ever since America's "Cultural Revolution" in the sixties, men like Bill Clinton, women like Patty Ireland, have masked their disease of dishonor and depravity behind high-sounding rhetoric they can no longer credibly maintain. They brought us socialism in the name of compassion, political correctness in the name of free speech, censorship of religion in the name of the First Amendment. The Alec Baldwins have spoken, saying as he did on Conan O'Brian in December that they prefer an America in which the children of political opponents are dragged from their houses and killed. The Patty Irelands have spoken, saying that sexual harassment doesn't matter if the criminal is a Democrat. The Robert Byrds have spoken, saying that Democratic felonies are maddening, but not impeachable. The network news bureaus have spoken, saying that a Matt Drudge -- with a near-perfect accuracy rate -- is not credible, but that Larry Flynt, First Pornographer, is. They have all taken their stand. They are all out in the open. Every one. And standing opposed to them, a small army, from James Dobson to Asa Hutchinson, are on the record for truth and justice and the integrity of the Republic. Appropriately enough in A Tale of Two Cities, Dickens wrote "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." So it is today. We will save our nation by knowing who we are, by standing on principle, by endlessly drawing the contrast with our opponents, and by submitting ourselves to the God who gave us our nation in the first place. Apart from that, our nation will be lost. The hour of truth is here, the task is daunting, and the margin for error is nil. -Caveat Lector- THE UNITED STATES SENATE IN DISGRACE AND LOVING IT! by Norman Liebmann History is not famous for being kind, but it has shown its mercy in allowing the Founding Fathers not to be witnesses to the Senate's dishonor. The Senate has demanded and will find its rightful place in the bowels of ignominy. Its members were charged with determining whether two hundred pounds of out-of-control erectile tissue should continue to degrade the office of the Presidency. Only among this gaggle is this a matter with nuances. One finds it reasonable the designation "Senate" derives from the Latin word "senility." Being a Senator is a kind of on-the-job-retirement, a category for which the AARP has printed no brochure. If the Clinton trial were a mystery movie, Americans would already have walked out. The entire nation knows "who dunnit?" but the Senate is still going through the motions of trying not to find out. (Now you know why film smells that way when they burn it.) With the verdict not yet in, Clinton has promised the Senate he will not gloat. It is an insult so gross, we can only expect the Senate will do everything within its authority to deserve it. It is admirable to have the courage of your convictions. Lamentably, this Senate has the convictions of its courage. It is a white O.J. jury bent on Constitution-nullification. The question is no longer, do Clinton's crimes rise to the level of impeachment, but why can't the Senate rise to it. The sham trial of William Jefferson Clinton will be remembered as "The Cop Out at the O.K. Corral." Fear is the crazy glue that binds these solons together. You know there is some inner fortitude lacking when the Senate starts each session by reciting "The Cringe of Allegiance." The legend above the Senate chamber's door should read, "Through these portals pass the most pompous mice in the world." This is a Senate that would be congenial to the politics of ancient Rome at its most decadent, and they are ready to treat the nation to an epic convulsion of conscience. In a supposedly open society this Senate wheels and deals behind closed doors more than Mafia; just one of the many devices it uses to exhaust Americans beyond caring. If the Senators do not act with integrity it's because he have none to act with. The U.S. Senate likes to call itself "the world's greatest deliberative body." Apparently, it does not discern a disparity between "deliberative" and "hesitant." The Senate is a Home for the Chronically Indecisive, Incontinent, and Integrity Bereft. It's members have a foxhole mentality, and when they saw this coming, they jumped in and pulled the hole in after them. Their natural state is one of intellectual vapor lock. Hence, they have never encountered a problem it felt couldn't be "waited out." The rules of the game of cricket are more abstruse and convoluted than Einstein's time-space continuum, but simple pie compared to the rules of the Senate. (Characteristically, baseball is absurd to the "Brits" because its rules do not require each player to carry an umbrella.) Still, every Senator holds in reverence at least Rule 1 of Senate procedure. i.e.- "A Senator must keep talking until he thinks of something to say." The rest is embroidery. (In floor debates, most Senators prefer to debate themselves, which they feel gives them a "home court advantage.") These Doges of the Senate's principal objective is to boost the chamber from a quaint talking shop to a cavernous hangar whose echo can make small talk sound like oratory. The actual discourse involves caressing each other with verbal peacock feathers, the extending of cheap courtesies, and stringing the Senate chamber with mucous compliments; in short, telling each other what a great bunch of guys they are. It's a cheap trick but it works for them. In truth, they lack the courage and integrity to insult each other, as properly they should, and they lack the wit. This last is unpardonable. We are coming to the end of the Great Integrity Scavenger Hunt, to decide if the Senate has the guts to say Clinton's crimes reek to the level of impeachment. No one is surprised these political hacks, who spent all that time and money to get into the Senate, are now running for the hills. Ten seconds after they swore not to make up their minds before hearing all the evidence, their verdict was inscribed on asbestos and on its way to a Nevada landfill where it is sure to create an environmental hazard. Sir Thomas More, Robert Bolt's "man for all seasons", took a trip to the chopping black for embarrassing King and Council with his indefectible character. As none in this clutch possesses More's qualities, no Senator will suffer the same fate (irrespective of how much it would improve his appearance.) At this writing the Senate is considering a "bi-furcated verdict." Nobody knew what a bi-furcated verdict was until Barney Frank explained, it's someone who "furcates" both ways. Her whining is a good example of feminists' lack of logic. In building her case, she quotes Bill Clinton's wife as saying that in the past 10 years there had been seven killings, 38 bombings, 146 arsons and 733 instances of vandalism directed at abortion providers. She neglected to say, of course, that during the same 10 years abortionists killed more than 10 million children. One would think one would wish to keep matters in perspective. But perspective is the last thing a special pleader wants. She tries to assert that the handful of crimes committed during a 10-year period constitutes a campaign of domestic terrorism. That's balderdash. Take, for example, seven killings during a 10-year period. Homicides in the United States run on average from 18,000 to 22,000 per year. Abortionists certainly run no greater risk of getting whacked than normal people do. But what about those 146 cases of arson during a 10-year period? Well, in one typical year, say 1994, 17,000 Americans were arrested on a charge of arson and 260,000 on a charge of vandalism. In other words, violence directed at abortion clinics is greatly exaggerated. It amounts to a mere pittance in the annual toll of criminal behavior in our diverse, multicultural paradise. Then she screams, "Hey, abortion is legal!" Well, so was the Holocaust. The Nazis violated no German laws in killing people during World War II. In fact, if a guard at a death camp killed an inmate on his own, he was subject to courtmartial and punishment. You see, whatever the Nazis wanted to do, they authorized it by passing laws. The point being that mass murder can be made legal. The Nazis made mass murder legal during the Holocaust, and the U.S. Supreme Court made mass murder legal in Roe vs. Wade. In fact, they both used the same logic by depriving those earmarked for death of personhood. To say something is legal is to say only that it has the stamp of approval of the current government in power. It is not to say that it is morally right, humane or good. Governments can make evil legal and do it all the time. It gives one great pause to reflect that the difference between being a non-person with no right to life, marked by law for death, and being a human being with the right to life boiled down to a few birth contractions and a trip of a few inches down the birth canal. It's as if the law, in its great politicized wisdom, said it's OK to kill your children if you do it before they can get out of the nursery, but once they crawl across the threshold into another room, you can't kill them. It seems to me that legalized killing of children, commonly called abortion, is only one of the parallels between post-modern America and the Germany that gave birth to Nazism. We have the same decadence, the same militant defense of decadence by so-called intellectuals, the same trend toward authoritarianism, the same disregard of human life, the same unwillingness to make moral judgments. Oswald Spengler, in his book, Decline of the West, projected that the 1990s would mark the transition between the Age of Money, marked by the dominance of great cities and greed, to the Age of Caesars, a return to dictatorships. -Caveat Lector- TUESDAY FEBRUARY 09 1999 Charles Smith is a journalist and President of SOFTWAR, a computer security company based in Richmond, VA. He writes frequently on issues of national security and information warfare. -- Another Chinese strategic coup COSTIND, a Chinese army unit known for its successful penetration of the Clinton White House, has scored another big success. In 1997, Ge Hunbiao, the People's Liberation Army general and political commissar of COSTIND, quietly signed a treaty obtaining the Pacific island of Tarawa as a PLA satellite tracking and control station. The new Chinese army base was declared fully operational in January 1999. The position of Tarawa will allow China to monitor U.S. ballistic missile and anti-ballistic missile (ABM) tests just 500 miles north in the Kwajalein Test Range. According to the General Accounting Office, "COSTIND" -- the Chinese Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense -- "oversees development of China's weapon systems and is responsible for identifying and acquiring telecommunications technology applicable for military use." The Tarawa ground-based optical and radar-tracking system is far more powerful than any system currently deployed at sea. The base allows PLA forces to monitor and track U.S. ballistic missile tests in the south Pacific test ranges without the expense of forward-deployed Chinese navy tracking vessels. The station also allows China to monitor U.S. forces in the Pacific region. This capability includes military signals intercepts, communications with PLA recon and ferret satellites, and target acquisition for Chinese anti-satellite (A-SAT) systems such as ground-based lasers. A ground-based laser could be installed on Tarawa to give the PLA a quick strike capability to shoot down or disable all U.S. military satellites in time of war over the Pacific. However, a laser may not be required to deny U.S. space assets from a Tarawa base. The PLA could also use simple "barrage" radio jamming or high-power microwave transmitters to disable U.S. satellites with existing equipment at the site. The base already allows the PLA to track U.S. fleet operations via signal intercepts from Navy battle groups. Any major U.S. response to hostile acts in the Asian region will require the immediate deployment of U.S. carrier naval forces. These forces will either come across the Pacific or through the Indian Ocean. The Tarawa base allows direct signals intercepts and tracking of U.S. Navy forces in the mid-Pacific area. The PLA Tarawa base may also provide significant sonar and radio emission signals intelligence to track U.S. submarine forces, including the "Ohio" class of Trident missile boats which deploy from the Pacific coast of Washington state. Secure fiber-optic cable systems attached to microphones on the Pacific sea floor surrounding the Tarawa atoll group may pick up undersea activities for hundreds of miles. The Tarawa signals intercept capability includes "traffic" analysis, a form of information warfare that does not need sophisticated decoding systems to determine U.S. intentions and military reactions. However, breaches of secure code systems (e.g. John Walker) could allow PLA forces to decipher messages in real time from U.S. satellites and military forces. Tarawa's mid-Pacific location is perfect for "cooking." A PLA ability to decode U.S. military messages combined with high-speed U.S. built computers may give the PLA the ability to intercept, decode and ALTER American military communications in real-time. This capability is called "cooking" in information warfare terms. Such a capability would put all U.S. forces at grave danger of a Chinese first strike. The base currently controls Chinese satellites in orbit. This capability can include missiles or thermonuclear warheads in flight through space. The PLA capability includes secure correction/control of first strike nuclear warheads intended to destroy strategic missiles and B-2 bombers on the American continent. Based on the position of the satellite station in Tarawa the logical military deployment would be for China to build a similar A-SAT site in the far western provinces (e.g. Kazakhstan). Two A-SAT sites, one in the Pacific and one along the western border, provides 100 percent PLA denial of U.S. space forces covering the far-Asian areas of conflict (e.g. Sea of China, Sea of Japan, Yellow Sea and Sea of Okhotsk). The center of PLA A-SAT military operations, in geographic terms, is Taiwan. COSTIND, the Chinese Army unit responsible for the successful deployment on Tarawa, has a long history of anti-American espionage operations including penetrations of the Clinton White House. President Clinton personally authorized LORAL Aerospace CEO Bernard Schwartz to meet with a COSTIND General. In August 1994, Schwartz accompanied Ron Brown on the Presidential Business Development Mission trade trip to China. At the behest of

It is fairly easy to see where he is headed knowing what he has done before and observing how he operates. The Clinton health plan debate was a major topic of discussion in June 1994, and I was a very outspoken critic. I was also a Republican candidate for the Utah House of Representatives, and my campaign was in full swing -- a campaign I would win in November of that year. "This is the special events office of the White House for David Bresnahan," said the voice calling me on my home phone. "Yeah, right. Who is this really," I asked, assuming one of my friends was trying to put one over on me. I checked. It turned out he really was from the White House. It seems that somehow I was being invited to meet first lady Hillary Clinton. It later evolved into a meeting with President Clinton as well. The health-care debate was at its peak, and I had been an outspoken critic in 1994 as a candidate for the Utah House of Representatives. Somehow former Democratic Rep. Karen Shepherd had me listed in her computer as a health-care reform supporter. Her staff called the White House and asked for an opportunity for me to meet the president and first lady. With only a couple days' notice I was able to make the travel arrangements and off I went, not knowing what to expect other than being told I would have an opportunity to meet and express my views. Before leaving I held a neighborhood meeting in my backyard, at the Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary where letters were signed expressing dismay with the plans that were moving forward to federalize health care. Even Democrats were signing the letters. My neighbors were questioned by the FBI for a security check, and I went through the normal security procedures at the front gate of the White House. According to former FBI agent Gary Aldrich in an interview on my radio show, I went through a tougher background check than many of the White House staff. After a brief visit to a non-public portion of the White House, I was ushered out to the South Lawn where seats were arranged under a canopy for a speech. It had a political campaign atmosphere, and every attendee was given a placard that read: "Small Businesses everywhere want Universal Health Care." I was instructed to watch for signals from strategically placed audience directors for when to hold up the sign and when to applaud. They seated me in the front row, but I felt so out of place that I quietly found my way to the back so I wouldn't stand out like a sore thumb when I didn't raise my sign or clap wildly. In fact, I was a real fish out of water as I realized that I was most likely the only person in the crowd of several hundred who did not support this absurd attempt to socialize health care. I had been told that I would be met by Rep. Shepherd at the White House, but she never showed. I later learned that she had finally figured out that she had made a gigantic mistake by inviting me and ditched the meeting. The press were the only ones who knew that I was a strong opponent, and they were waiting for me in a roped off section behind the audience. We met and arranged a press conference on the lawn of the White House when it was all over. The White House staff would not permit them to go with me when I met with President and Mrs. Clinton. The White House band played for at least 30 minutes prior to the presentation. It was amazing to see the way the audience was built up for what was to come. By the time "Hail to the Chief" was played, they were primed and ready to give the kind of response those audience directors were looking for. When Mrs. Clinton spoke the crowd responded on cue with wild enthusiasm to a presentation packed with emotion and devoid of facts. It was a good thing I had moved to the back row. I clapped politely when necessary, stood by my chair when everyone else jumped up and down with their silly signs, and I hoped no one would notice my lack of enthusiasm. If this crowd discovered who I was, I was afraid I would be like a piece of raw meat thrown into a pack of hungry wolves. Fortunately, I was able to avoid attracting attention to myself. Without Rep. Shepherd to introduce me to the president I was concerned that my meeting with him would not take place. I was able to make myself known to one of the staff who seemed to have nothing to do, and I became her project. I told her the truth. I was a candidate for a Utah House race in a very tough district. My congresswoman was supposed to meet me but I couldn't find her, and I was concerned that I would miss out on my visit with the President and Mrs. Clinton. I also pointed out that I was bringing hundreds of letters from my constituents which the Clintons would most certainly want to receive. She didn't ask, so I didn't tell her that my tough race was against a popular,

-Caveat Lector- Shuffling For Clinton Paul Craig Roberts January 27, 1999 Before senators vote to acquit a president who has degraded our highest political office and the law of the land, they should sit down together with Christabel Bielenberg's story of life in National Socialist Germany. In 1934, Christabel Burton, an Englishwoman, married Peter Bielenberg, a German lawyer. They settled in Hamburg and over the next years experienced the breakdown of German law and institutions. In 1969, Christabel Bielenberg told their story in her book, "The Past Is Myself," which was resurrected 20 years later on Masterpiece Theatre as "Christabel." Adolph Hitler's National Socialists had a more difficult time reshaping Germany to suit themselves than Lenin's Communists experienced in Russia. The Czar's government in Russia, although highly bureaucratized, was a personal form of government. Its rationale and power flowed from the Czar. When the Czar and his family were murdered by the Communists, his government ceased to exist, thereby providing the Communists with a clean slate. In contrast, German government institutions were independent of party and person. The National Socialists had to contend for a while with independent law and courts and accustomed practices that frustrated their aims. Hitler's government responded by ignoring inconvenient court decisions, by putting in place a parallel court system, and by replacing traditional law with its own administrative orders. As time passed, fear mounted as new legal terms appeared that cloaked lawlessness with language such as "protective custody," "People's Court" and "offense against the natural healthy instinct of the people." After building fear with arbitrary power, the National Socialists were able to force people step by step into compromise with their integrity and complicity with evil. The Hitlerization of Germany was achieved by accustoming the population to a gradual degradation of law and morals until people shuffled for the National Socialists the way prisoners, deprived of shoelaces, shuffle in their shoes. At this moment nothing but an uncertain Senate stands between us and the degradation of our civic life by the Clintons. Clinton has already corrupted the media, which shuffles for him. Clinton has corrupted the Democrats in the House of Representatives, who shuffle for him. And now Bill Clinton and his government are betting that the U.S. Senate will shuffle for him. Fearful of its constitutional duty, the Senate is already shuffling toward an extra-constitutional compromise that will add to our degradation. Just as many Germans did not comprehend where the shuffle was leading until it was too late, many Americans are not aware of the implications of excusing the country's chief executive from perjury and obstruction of justice. If Clinton remains in office, the precedent will be established that the president is above some laws in some circumstances. Caesar will have crossed the Rubicon. The laws, above which the president sits, will increase in number with time, and other executive branch officials will gradually acquire by extension the distinction of being higher than law. Indeed, the executive branch is already filled with little dictators. Wherever one looks, one sees administrative agencies behaving as if they are legislative bodies. Clinton's EPA is attempting to force the recall of federally certified Toyota/Lexus vehicles based on the issuance of a retroactive standard. Clinton's Justice Department is using coerced consent degrees to establish illegal and unconstitutional racial quotas as the law of the land. Clinton's Treasury, Justice, State and Interior Departments are using executive orders and abusing their regulatory authority in order to gradually criminalize gun ownership. Clinton's appointees are exercising power without being confirmed in office by the Senate, and Clinton's executive branch departments are implementing treaties that have not been ratified by the Senate. Federal prosecutors fabricate cases in order to meet conviction quotas for "white collar crimes," "environmental crimes" and drug crimes. After a two-year investigation of prosecutorial misconduct, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette concluded: "Perjury has become the coin of the realm in federal law enforcement." How is perjury to be rooted out of federal law enforcement when it cannot be rooted out of the White House? If the president can obstruct justice in order to hide sexual misconduct, a prosecutor can obstruct justice in order to hide misconduct that would exonerate a defendant. Fair trials will disappear, and our civil rights will shuffle off the stage. Before Senators shuffle for Clinton, they should add up the stakes. In order to have a new world order, one must destroy the independence of a free people "for their own good." Today our government has begun the destruction of America as a free people. We are being forced to register long barrel fire arms in violation of the second amendment right to bear arms freely. They have bridled free speech, free worship and free assembly over the past 10 years. Now they bridle the free ownership of weapons of defense. First they register your weapons, then they come for them for "your own good and the safety of your children." I am not a member of the gun coalition, nor a member of the NRA, nor a member of any militia in any state. I am a defender of the constitution and the Bill of Rights. For I am also a student of history. We have passed laws in this land that would have done Stalin and Hitler proud. We have aborted human life and now assist people to "die with dignity" (suicide, or accurately: murder of self). We have legally stopped free speech, especially in the "Hate Crime" laws, which will be used against Christians like RICO has been used in regard to a scriptural stand on homosexuality, lesbianism and right to life. The skin heads are not real Nazis. They are only want-to-be's. The real Nazis sit in the White House and sign laws which they swore an oath not to sign. They sit in Congress subverting the constitutional obligations while writing laws forbidden by the constitution. They sit on the Supreme Court rewriting the constitution to fit their vision of America. They have created new rights such as abortion and uphold laws such as the Brady Bill. People will scream at this report because they fear their government of the people, for the people and by the people. They will say that I am wrong in my assessment. They will say that the Brady Bill will protect us from the criminals. I don't know of any criminal that legally purchased a gun. In order for the state to collect all the guns from the law-abiding, they must first know where the guns are. Therefore pass a national registration package so that the national, not the state, nor the individual, can control ownership of guns for defense even against the current Gestapo, i. e. AT. Both criminals and intolerant governments fear one thing: an armed populace. One of the first things Nazi Germany did to the people was to disarm them. If we do not turn this nation around from its present course, then one day articles like this one will be illegal. -Caveat Lector- Fascism On The Move Toward "New Order" Madeleine Albright Makes it Plain On January 18th the San Francisco Chronicle carried a story, originally published in the Los Angeles Times, detailing the plans of U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to establish "a new international order, one that would revamp existing global institutions and spawn entirely new ones." According to the L.A. Times, Albright is referring to "the new order" as a kind of "international democracy club" where the U.S. would be the "organizing principle." "The 21st century ... ought to be the century of democracy," Albright told the L.A. Times. "We're going to be putting an awful lot more emphasis on organizing the democracies, working with them ... so they can work with each other better." Only those who understand what kind of "democracy" she's talking about know what this means for the world. In case the reader fails to grasp the meaning behind Albright's government-speak, we will translate. "Organize" means nothing less than "control", and this "new international order" means "world wide control." Albright said that "we [the foreign policy establishment] are the organizing principle." Other nations will "either organize with us or against us," she declared, meaning that those nations who won't play ball will be branded as pariahs and ostracized by the international community. When Albright says "democracy" she really means "doing it my way." Fascism in Democracy's Clothing In the minds of many well-meaning folks "democracy" is synonymous with government of, by, and for "the people", self-determination, rule of law and an open society. Often President Clinton claims to be working "for the American people," as do many in the U.S. Congress. This is the illusion of democracy, but the reality is far different. This reality was aptly defined by Noam Chomsky, a self-defined Socialist and professor at M.I.T. He wrote: "Democracy," in the United States rhetoric refers to a system of governance in which elite elements based in the business community control the state by virtue of their dominance of the private society, while the population observes quietly. So understood, democracy is a system of elite decision and public ratification, as in the United States itself. Correspondingly, popular involvement in the formation of public policy is considered a serious threat. It is not a step towards democracy; rather it constitutes a 'crisis of democracy' that must be overcome. (Noam Chomsky, On Power and Ideology, 1987) The evidence is overwhelming that Albright's "new international order" will not be much different from Hitler's "neue ordnung" and Mussolini's "ordine nuovo." It is the amalgamation of government and big business, as well as state direction of the economy that defines fascism, and, when Albright says "democracy" she really means "fascism" -- the current form of government in America today. Perhaps it was their dedication to Western tradition that led our forefathers to mount the Roman fasces behind the Speaker's chair in the U.S. House of Representatives. Made up of rods bound about an ax, this ancient symbol has appropriately become the trademark of modern fascism, "a system of government characterized by dictatorship, belligerent nationalism, and racism, militarism, etc..." (Webster's New World Dictionary) This "binding up", or as Albright puts it, "organizing" of the world's democracies, reveals the truth about her definition of democracy. The new order will be totalitarian, on the global scale as it is on the local, which indicates what is ahead for the world if the 21st century becomes "the century of democracy" as Albright and the rest of the foreign policy cabal would like. Hitler solidified his political power by joining an alliance with the industrialists of Germany. In turn, he protected the large corporations and extended them favorable treatment. Hitler reigned in Nazi radicals who sought to topple big business in what was called "the second revolution." On July 1, 1933, Hitler told his S.A. and S.S. leaders: "I will suppress every attempt to disturb the existing order as ruthlessly as I will deal with the so-called second revolution, which would lead only to chaos." (William L. Shirer, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, 1950) The marriage of money and demagoguery was consummated in Hitler's Third Reich and Mussolini's Italy. While wealth and political power have always colluded to some degree, there comes a point where apathy, pseudo-tolerance and ignorance binds the will of the masses to a fanatical idea that brings their destruction. It is this subjective, enervated, and brain-dead mental state that led the Germans to embrace the Nazi regime. Congress has given him the power. The laws are in the statute books. And the courts have already refused to say "no." Those are the conclusions of Virginia attorneys William Olson and Alan Woll, editor and assistant editor of Issues Bulletin, the newsletter of the Abraham Lincoln Foundation, a non-profit, public policy organization in Washington, D.C. In the December issue, the two attorneys take a sharp look at the unrestricted expansion of the executive branch by means of a little understood procedure, and the feet-dragging reluctance of Congress and the courts to do anything to stop it. Their eight-page legal study is titled, "Executive Orders and National Emergencies: Presidential Power Grab Nearly Unchecked." According to Olson and Woll, "A President may simply choose to declare a state of emergency, without any standards, any input from Congress or much risk of judicial challenge." President Clinton has already declared and renewed 12 distinct "national emergencies" -- all currently in force. "Once a national emergency is declared, presidents use executive orders to exercise emergency powers. Some such powers come from Congress -- (but) presidents assert other emergency powers without any statutory or Constitutional authority," according to the report. To make matters worse, "(T)he courts have deferred to presidential declarations of national emergencies, refusing to examine the basis for the emergency even years -- or decades -- after the emergency was declared." In fact, the United States has been in a presidentially-declared state of emergency since March 1933. Olson and Woll fear that Americans are especially "vulnerable" at this time, quite frankly because of the character of the president. As they see it: "So long as the definition (and declaration) of a national emergency remains at the unbridled discretion of a president -- with the Congress and the courts granting extensive, perhaps comprehensive authority to presidents whenever a national emergency is declared -- Americans enjoy little protection from the prospect of oppressive, dictatorial government. The risk is greatest when the character of the president is not worthy of trust." Contacted for comment, Olson and Woll discussed their report with WorldNetDaily in a telephone interview. "I wish I had an infinite amount of time to become an expert in a field in which no one is an expert," said Olson, who deplores the "dearth of sound legal and policy research" regarding executive orders and the powers the president can wield during a national emergency. "There are some secondary sources out there, but most of those are unreliable because it's not clear how these things (executive orders) really work. No one really understands them," he said. The problem is compounded by a lack of interest by persons they had expected to be well informed. Early in their investigation they discovered that no one at the Capitol, not even entrenched congressional staffers, has a firm grasp of the subject. National emergencies are declared, executive orders are issued, but "there's no real tracking." "Nobody is minding the store," said Olson. With almost nothing to go on, the two attorneys were forced to begin their research virtually from scratch. "We had to go to the original sources, do everything from the ground up," Olson recalled. A 1976 Senate report on presidential powers and national emergencies proved to be the most valuable source. The report explained how President Franklin Roosevelt declared a national emergency and bank holiday immediately following his inauguration in March 1933 citing as authority the 1917 Trading With the Enemy Act, a wartime measure that was never repealed. The state of national emergency continued until 1977, when Congress -- in an attempt to impose some limits on presidential powers -- amended the Trading With the Enemy Act to prohibit its use to proclaim national emergencies in peacetime. In addition, Congress passed the National Emergencies Act in 1978, which provided that all national emergencies would cease on September 14, 1978, and set up a mechanism for Congress to terminate or block a declaration. It didn't work. Despite Congress' effort, a dozen or so national emergencies have been declared and renewed annually, and are right now in effect. These are premised upon problems with Iran (every year since 1979), Libya (since 1986), Iraq (since 1990), Yugoslavia (since 1992), proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (since 1993), UNITA (Angolan anti-communists, since 1993), Middle East terrorism (since 1995), Colombian drug dealers (since 1995), Cuba (since 1996),

An impeached president is leading America ever closer toward the reality of a police state, and there's been hardly a peep from the civil liberties establishment. In fact, those who dare address such issues are quickly denounced as paranoid "extremists." But let's look at the facts -- coldly, objectively and rationally. President Clinton has declared more "states of national emergency" than any of his predecessors. And he's done it in an era he boasts about as the freest, most peaceful and most prosperous time in recent American history. President Clinton has issued more executive orders than any of his predecessors. His top aides have even boasted of using them as a political strategy to go over the heads of the legislative branch of government. "Stroke of the pen, law of the land," boasted Paul Begala of the plan. "Pretty cool, huh?" Few of the executive orders have even been challenged by a Congress controlled by the opposition party. Few of them have even been read by a sleeping press establishment. And now President Clinton tells the nation that terrorism is such a threat to America that we need to consider establishing a "commander-in-chief for the defense of the continental United States." But don't worry about the civil liberties implications of any of this, the president tells us. "If there's a question, bring it to me," he says, like any good monarch would. Sure, that will solve the problem. Clinton himself will be the arbiter of whether his policies are an assault on our fundamental freedoms. Sounds fair, huh? Keep in mind, folks, that this is the same president who has: used FBI files to attack his political enemies; employed Internal Revenue Service audits to punish his critics; at the moment of his highest triumph, his re-election as president in 1996, warned he would attack his adversaries ruthlessly and cut them out of the body politick "like a cancer"; used at least one federal employee as a sex toy, using Marine officers to chauffeur her to the White House, then wielded all the power at his disposal to cover up the scandal through perjury and obstruction of justice; accepted illegal campaign contributions from powers hostile to the United States and then offered them previously forbidden high-technology transfers; used taxpayer resources to malign the character of anyone who offered a political challenge to his authority; abused his power to step on and over anyone who got in his way; I could go on and on. But you get the point. The kinds of powers under discussion would be unacceptable in the hands of the most ethical, honorable, virtuous leader, but in the hands of a man with no character, a man whose only motivation is the accumulation and preservation of his own authority, the mere discussion of such powers should be anathema to every American. Yet, I don't hear the outrage. I don't hear expressions of real concern. I don't hear anyone warning of impending tyranny. Let me, then, be the first. America is not slouching toward totalitarianism, it is rushing headlong toward it. It is disregarding more than 200 years of historical lessons, the prophetic cautions of the geniuses who invented this country. It is forgetting what made America great -- its Constitution, its acceptance of freedom and responsibility and its commitment to a morality etched in men's hearts from the beginning and defined in words beginning with the Ten Commandments. How can we then trust a man who treads on the Constitution, insults the Founding Fathers, limits freedom daily with new initiatives empowering government, encourages irrepsonsibility in others and breaks nearly every one of the Ten Commandments with no credible regrets or contritition? Tell me, America: Are you ready to let Bill Clinton completely redefine and rewrite the contract between the people and the government? Are you willing to permit him to be the judge and jury of that new covenant? -Caveat Lector- Chinese exercise targets Taiwan, US Troops By Bill Gertz THE WASHINGTON TIMES China's army conducted a military exercise last month with simulated missile firings against Taiwan and also for the first time conducted mock attacks on U.S. troops in the region, according to Pentagon intelligence officials. The exercise began in late November and ended in early December as road-mobile CSS-5 medium-range missiles maneuvered along China's coast, said officials familiar with a Dec. 2 Defense Intelligence Agency report on the exercise. Disclosure of the Chinese exercise comes as officials in the Clinton administration said efforts are under way to soften the conclusions of a congressionally mandated report on missile defenses and missile threats in Asia,including new details on the rapidly growing Chinese missile arsenal. According to sensitive intelligence gathered by U.S. satellites, aircraft and ships that monitored the Chinese exercise, People's Liberation Army units, including those equipped with intermediate-range CSS-5s and silo-housed CSS-2 missile units practiced firing missiles at Taiwan. Intelligence information also indicated that the U.S. Army troops based in South Korea, and Marine Corps troops on the Japanese island of Okinawa and mainland Japan were targeted with strikes. "They were doing mock missile attacks on our troops," said one official. White House spokesman David Leavy said he could not comment on intelligence matters. A senior administration official confirmed that the missiles were CSS-2s, first deployed in 1971, and CSS-5s, first fielded in the 1980s. Both weapons had "never been pointed our way before," the senior official said. "The important point is these are not new missiles." The official did not address the threat the Chinese missiles posed to the 37,000 troops based in South Korea, and 47,000 troops in Japan, including about 25,000 Marines on Okinawa. The intelligence report also raises questions about the recent statement of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, who announced during the June summit in Beijing that he and President Clinton agreed "we will not target each other with the strategic nuclear arms under our control." The Chinese leader told reporters June 27 that the detargeting "shows the whole world that China and the U.S. are cooperative partners instead of adversaries." Pentagon officials said, however, the simulated attacks are a sign China is prepared to go to war with the United States over the issue of Taiwan, which Beijing regards as a breakaway province and not an independent nation. The vulnerability of U.S. troops in Asia to missile attacks is a sensitive issue. North Korea has deployed medium-range Nodong missiles that also can hit troops in both Korea and Japan, although the Pentagon has been reluctant to acknowledge the threat. During the recent exercise, the Chinese mobile missiles were observed erected on truck launchers, but none was actually fired, said officials who declined to be named. One military official said the exercises also showed China's growing capability to counter U.S. laser-guided bombs, using what the Pentagon calls "obscurance." The masking involves spraying clouds of small particles around the missiles that cause laser tracking devices to bounce off their intended targets and fool adversaries guiding the bombs into believing the weapons are on target. The CSS-2 was the only intermediate-range missile ever exported. China sold a battery of the missiles to Saudi Arabia in the 1980s. According to an earlier Pentagon intelligence report, China is engaged in a major program to upgrade its 40 CSS-2s with newer and more capable CSS-5s, which come in two versions. Liquid-fueled CSS-2s, with ranges of about 1,922 miles, are being replaced in some regions by solid-propellent CSS-5s that have a maximum range of 1,333 miles, the 1996 report said. During the Taiwan straits crisis of March 1996, China fired short-range M-9 test missiles north and south of the island in what U.S. officials said at the time was an attempt to intimidate Taiwan shortly before its first presidential elections. Those exercises led the Pentagon to deploy two U.S. aircraft carrier battle groups to waters near the island. Regarding the report due to reach Congress Jan. 1, the Pentagon has been held up from sending the report to the House Armed Services Committee because of disagreements with its conclusions. The senior official said the delay is due to "normal interagency discussion about an important national security issue" and that it will be sent to Congress "in a timely manner." The report to Congress examines the possible components for regional missile defenses in Asia that would have the capability of protecting key regional allies from missile attack. It was mandated by the fiscal 1999 defense authorization bill and will include descriptions of U.S. missile defenses that could be transferred to key allies in Asia for "self-defense

If you had asked almost any liberal American not so long ago about Soviet spies in the United States, like clockwork they would have responded with two major errors, despite considerable evidence to the contrary. First, they would have assured you that the American Communist Party -- officially called Communist Party U.S.A. -- was made up of idealistic do-gooder types who never for a moment spied for the Soviet Union or at any time offered any kind of a threat to the United States. Second, you similarly would have been assured that there were no serious Communists, or at least none of any significance, who spied for Moscow in any government agency or among the scientists involved in the Manhattan Project and at Los Alamos in the development of the atomic bomb. You would have been told that Sen. Joseph McCarthy was badly misinformed. You would have been told, too, that Alger Hiss was innocent, the victim of an ambitious congressman (Richard Nixon) and that the whole effort to uncover nonexistent Communists in Washington had been launched by conservative Republicans eager to undo the achievements of the New Deal and the liberal Roosevelt years. These widely believed errors were dealt a severe blow two decades ago when Allen Weinstein published his Perjury: The Hiss-Chambers Case, the book that definitively proved that Hiss was a Soviet agent. Support for these misconceptions further eroded when Harvey Klehr and John Earl Haynes in 1995 published The Secret World of American Communism, a collection of documents they stumbled across in the Soviet Union, followed in 1998 by a second document collection. Now comes a third source that should undermine forever (but won't) belief in the innocence of the American Communist Party and the absence of serious Soviet spies in Washington and elsewhere in America. The Haunted Wood by Weinstein and former KGB agent Alexander Vassiliev covers what the two authors call "Soviet espionage's golden age" in the United States. Those were the years between 1933, when the United States initiated diplomatic relations with the USSR, broken after the Bolshevik Revolution, and 1945, the year when American Soviet agent in Washington Elizabeth Bentley broke with her Soviet connections, named names to the FBI and threw Soviet espionage in this country into a tailspin from which it never fully recovered. Thanks to a 1993 agreement between the American publisher Random House and the Association of Retired Intelligence Officers -- an organization of former KGB agents --Weinstein and Vassiliev had access for a two-year period to KGB Stalin-era archives, access the association offered in exchange for payments from Random House. For the first time outsiders were allowed to read the reports filed from the United States by Soviet agents operative in America -- and by Americans who worked for the Soviet Union, turning over secret documents and reports to officials of a nation not technically an enemy at the time. By Kelly Patricia O'Meara Insight has learned the Boeing Co., in an attempt to limit its liability, may defend itself in civil litigation with the theory that the airliner was downed by a U.S. missile. In the rough-and-tumble world of civil litigation, the almighty dollar is king. Whether in a divorce proceeding or product-liability or wrongful-death lawsuit, plaintiffs seek huge awards and defense counsels dig in to avoid or minimize the payout. So it should come as no surprise that lawyers on both sides of the multimillion-dollar lawsuit involving the destruction of TWA Flight 800 are gearing up for a knock-down-drag-out fight should the case ever go to trial. But in monitoring the behind-the-scenes negotiations between the Boeing Co. and the law firms representing families of the 230 dead from that July 17, 1996, midair explosion just east of Long Island, N.Y., Insight has uncovered a bizarre twist that shows the extent to which some defendants believe they must go to avoid huge liability judgments. According to confidential sources, Boeing is considering whether to spring a stunning legal tactic in its defense -- one that greatly is upsetting some of the families mourning the loss of loved ones. Based on interviews and secret corporate documents, Insight has discovered that if the civil case goes to trial the legal team representing the giant airplane manufacturer may invoke a missile theory to try to absolve Boeing of liability. Moreover, it has been learned, Boeing's legal team already has raised the missile claim as a tool to chip away at the resolve and ultimate financial demands of the victims' families, hoping to reduce settlements by half. "At this point, Boeing is seeking a 50 percent discount on each case because of its belief that a jury will conclude a missile downed Flight 800," declares one of the secret legal memos obtained by Insight. As a well-placed source explains: "Boeing attorneys will try to plant reasonable doubt and make a jury believe that a missile downed TWA 800." That Boeing would engage in such a ploy has shocked the families and their lawyers, most of whom have come to agree with the consensus conclusion by the FBI and the National Transportation Safety Board, or NTSB, that Flight 800 was downed by an explosion in the plane's center fuel tank caused by mechanical failure and not by a missile fired either accidentally by elements of the U.S. military, which were scheduled to conduct air/sea training exercises nearby, or by terrorists with a grudge against the United States. However, according to Insight's sources, Boeing's lawyers believe that members of any jury drawn from New York would walk into court with the preconceived notion that it could have been a missile that blew Flight 800 out of the sky. They are convinced that in the absence of proof-positive that mechanical failure was at fault, it would not take much to get a jury to consider the possibility that a missile downed the flight. Jim Walters, vice chairman of the Airline Pilots Association, or ALPA, Accident Investigation Board, finds it hard to believe Boeing could have any evidence that a missile was involved. "Boeing has signed off on -- agreed with -- all or most of the field notes during the investigation," he says, adding: "Their best defense would be that they were fully in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations [or FARs], but this is a highly unusual event. "In nearly 700 million hours of air time," Walters explains, "only twice [in plane disasters] could they not be traced to a known ignition source. The first was a 737 that blew up in the Philippines but, because that aircraft had been modified by the operator from its original design, it shouldn't be included in the list. The only other explosion with an unknown ignition source causing the explosion of the center wing tank, or CWT, is TWA 800." But according to sources and attorneys for the families, the missile theory makes legal sense as a device to hold down the settlement. "I think they [Boeing] would try and put up a missile defense because anything else would make them liable," says Douglas Latto, an aviation attorney with Baumeister Samuels, one of the five law firms handling the claims of the victims' families. Although he says he is unaware of Boeing lawyers even considering a missile defense, he could not rule it out as a possible legal tactic and, perhaps, one already subtly raised in motions on file with the New York court. Meanwhile, the investigation is riddled with evidentiary holes -- enough, in fact, that the Senate Judiciary Committee is planning hearings this year to look into some of the problems that surrounded the $20 million federal investigation. Who is the man who now "terrorizes" Congress? I have really seen Flynt and his sadistic imagery and fantasy having been charged by the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, to direct a two-year content analysis of Images of Children, Crime and Violence in Playboy, Penthouse and Hustler (1953-1984).1 Our study documented each issue of Hustler averaging 14.1 children and pseudo-children alongside 47 images of crime and violence; 52 percent of child photos were sexually explicit and most cartooned children were sexually violated. Flynt regularly presents a volatile co-mingling of images of sex, violence, scatological degradation, fear and horror. Seen routinely are blood-dripping-mutilated hands, arms, heads, breasts and penises, often gutted, decapitated, castrated and satanically murdered and cannibalized, racist and occult images dominate the "magazine." December 1978, Hustler published photographs of naked children as young as three-years of age in sex scenes alongside an article, "Children, Sex and Society," advocating an end to age of consent, calling for acceptance of adult-child sex, and legalization of incest. Hustler is not for those challenged by human compassion. For example, in: February 1975 in an article entitled "Adolescent Fantasy" an uncle is photographed sexually with his niece; October 1976 a naked girl scout is photographed soliciting sex in August 1981, a nude young girl, photographed with her dollies, saying to the viewer; "You would be surprised what a 'little girl can do. ..." Recurrent cartoon and composite photo themes picturing blood-soaked castration are seen in the reality of child rape and mutilation. In October 26, 1990 a nine-year-old boy in Norman, Oklahoma was raped, his penis cut off and eye gouged out causing Hustler to be removed from local stores -- where a current Hustler depicted a young boy similarly tortured. Flynt's "Chester the Molester" cartoon character in March 1977, lay in wait under a playground slide for a child to sexually assault. In October 1977 the kidnapping and torturing three girls about 4-years old is depicted; while in February 1979, a car, with "Just Married" is shown driving away, with blood-drenched, aborted babies tied to the bumper. So much for fantasy! The May 1984 Hustler cartoon of a father sexually abusing his daughter helped convict Hustler editorial cartoon director, Dwaine Tinsely, in real life, of felony child sexual abuse of his own daughter in 1989. He gave her birth control pills at age thirteen, drugged her and sexually abused her until age eighteen, when she became a suicidal drug addict. Tinsley alone had contributed 145 Hustler cartoons of violent child kidnapping and rape. The FBI Uniform Crime Rate from 1972-1991 found a 128% increase in reported rapes,2 with both offenders and victims increasingly younger. The Reader's Digest commented on the troubling FBI data, saying, "It could be concluded that some force impelling toward sex crime has been operating on younger males in the United States." In reality, the abusive Hustler cartoons commonly exhibit the coarse "humor" which defines the present White House scandal. The two most powerful of these are the American Federation of Teachers(AFT) and the National Education Association(NEA). The American Federation of Teachers was organized in 1916. From the beginning it has been a militant, Marxist organization, using force, politics, pressure, and propaganda to gain control over teachers and thus build power for itself. The AFT never did achieve a large national membership. Its strength has always been concentrated in a few eastern cities - mainly, New York City. But the AFT influence on public education in the U.S. has been enormous, for two political reasons: first, during the critical period of the 1930s, such people as John Dewey and Norman Thomas were members of the AFT; and second, rivalry between the AFT and the NEA helped induce the NEA to adopt the socialist tactics of the AFT. The National Education Association was organized in 1862. In 1906, Congress conferred upon it a federal charter, to work as a professional organization in the field of education. For a long time, the NEA did operate as a professional group, publishing information helpful to classroom teachers, trying to improve the quality of teachers and of teaching in public schools. But by the mid-1930s, the NEA - like its rival, the AFT - was militant and Marxist. The NEA became the foremost leader of the drive that was begun by John Dewey educationists in the American Federation of Teachers - the drive to create "an educational program for a socialist America," which would be governed by an elite of professional educator-politicians. By the 1960s the NEA had a stranglehold on American public education. Today, NEA officials hold so many key positions in the Department of Education that the NEA practically runs that federal agency, which dispenses billions of tax dollars. NEA influence on Congress, the Supreme Court, and local state senators and assemblymen is also powerful. The NEA works with monopolistic unions, huge tax-exempt foundations, racial-agitation organizations, the National Council of Churches, and similar groups, lobbying for court decisions and big-spending federal and state programs. For years, the NEA pretended that it was not a union, and claimed to be opposed to teacher strikes. The NEA's malign influence and political pressures on elected officials can never be fully measured, but can be indicated by the words of its own spokesmen. In 1970, NEA President George Fischer said: "We will put the fear of God in politicians all over the country. We plan to make it political suicide to vote against kids and educations." And so it came to be. One irony in all this is that the NEA's political lobbying is an open and direct violation of the federal tax law which gives it tax exemption. The Internal Revenue Service has never revoked that tax exemption. Today, we have created the most extensive and expensive educational system that has ever existed in the history of the world. Yet, it graduates thousands of young people who cannot spell, write a correct sentence, work a simple arithmetic problem, or read with understanding. They have no worthwhile skills. They do not even know the alphabet well enough to work effectively as file clerks. The present American educational system has left a generation of Americans largely ignorant of the moral, economic, political, and spiritual principles on which the greatness of our nation is founded. It has brainwashed a generation of Americans into accepting the illegal conversion of our Constitutional Republic into a tyrannical, inefficient socialist-welfare state. It scorns individual excellence and extols mass mediocrity. Can you really be sure your children won't come out any different? Many a person has supported federal aid to education because he thought that getting "federal money" to help pay for schools in his district would ease his local tax burden. The Australian Federal Police, ASIO and the National Crime Authority would be empowered to alter software to turn PCs into covert listening devices, according to the 1996 report by one-time spy chief Gerald Walsh. The report also recommends changes to the Commonwealth Crimes Act to allow police and government investigators to hack into computer systems for evidence. While Mr Walsh called for public discussion of his proposals, the report was withdrawn by the Attorney-General's Department. But a copy of the 96-page document was obtained last week by Internet privacy campaigners Electronic Frontiers Australia and released to The Australian. A spokesman for Attorney-General Daryl Williams confirmed last night that Mr Walsh's recommendations were under discussion but the report was "just one element" of policy being considered. He would not say whether the controversial recommendations would be acted on through legislation. Mr Walsh warns that widespread use of PC-based data scrambling is a big concern for law enforcement. Criminals were already using computer encryption programs that encode data so it cannot be intercepted to prevent police from monitoring phone calls and e-mail. Widespread encryption to scramble sensitive data would make crimes harder to prove in court, Mr Walsh warns. "The principle of non self-incrimination may well represent the polite end of the possible range of responses," the report says. Mr Walsh's plan would clear the way for police to eavesdrop on computer conversations at the source. A "target computer may be converted into a listening device" that could seek out passwords and other private communications without the PC owner's knowledge. EFA spokesman Greg Taylor said authorities might set up Trojan horse software that would record all PC activity, including passwords and e-mail, before encryption. "If you have access to someone's PC and you change their software you can do anything you want," said Mr Taylor. "If it's connected to a network such as the Internet the PC could transmit data to another site." Australian Council for Civil Liberties president Terry O'Gorman said the proposals would be a worrying extension to police wiretap powers which were already over-used. "We are concerned about the low level of protection in relation to current judicial warrants for telephone eavesdropping," Mr O'Gorman said. -Caveat Lector- Nazi's, Socialists, Communists - One and the same Center for the American Founding January 20, 1998 Balint Vazsonyi TAKING COMMUNISM SERIOUSLY By Balint Vazsonyi [First published January 20, 1998 in The Washington Times] The publication in France of "The Black Book of Communism" (reviewed in the Washington Times by Ben and Daniel Wattenberg, January 8) is setting off shock waves in French political circles. But the book's real impact could be in America. At long last, we will have the tools to confront "Communism The Idea." Three centuries in the making, communism has offered the only challenge to the principles of the American Founding. It has done so under a bewildering variety of labels, all based on the identical doctrine: that human reason is supreme, and that certain people are capable of comprehending and arranging the world around us; that such people should guide all others toward an increasingly perfect and just society in which all desires will have been either eliminated or satisfied. Unlike the American quest for the best possible world, communism thus promises the perfect world. For Lenin, that meant a world where no one owned anything. For Hitler, one without Jews and ruled by Germans. Stalin combined it all no Jews, no ownership, and a world domination by Russia. Mao hunted down those who possessed Western books. All for social justice. All "in the best interest of the people." Eyebrows were raised when my 1995 essay "The Battle for America's Soul" detailed the parallels between the Third Reich and the Soviet Union as "The Unlikely Twins." Even more skepticism greeted the assertion that both grew out of nineteenth-century German philosophy. It comes as a relief that Tony Judt (New York Times, December 22, 1997) and Alain Besancon (Commentary, January 1998) published the same conclusions. Having grown up under both tyrannies, there was the troubling possibility that I had developed obsessions and mistaken them for reality. For sure, a lot is asked of native-born Americans with no experience of foreign occupation or tyranny, to see all this in the same light as those who lived through it. Even the often-shown horror pictures of the Nazi concentration camps must appear as something from another planet. Visual record of the horrible deeds elsewhere is not accessible, and reports of them have been obscured by the beguiling language of socialism: "peace, compassion, international brotherhood." But reality is that even Mussolini was a socialist who, thrown out by fellow socialists, formed his own socialist party named "fascist" after a symbol from ancient Rome. Reality is that Hitler's outfit was called the National Socialist German Workers' Party, with a manifesto copied from Marx. Reality is that Lenin's Bolshevik Party was based on German books. Differences merely reflected local conditions. Jiang Zemin, China's current president speaks of "Socialism with Chinese characteristics." Might some people be working on socialism with American characteristics? Most Americans prefer the notion that communism went out with the dissolution of the Soviet Union. But communism, remember, was not born in the Soviet Union. Why would it have died with the Soviet Union? Is it likely that the millions who signed on to The Idea just shrugged their shoulders in 1991 and drank a toast to the rule of law and free enterprise? Remember also: socialists, whether they realize it or not, are committed to building communism because socialism President Jiang Zemin reminds us is but a phase on the road to communism. Many see a difference between socialists and communists. But Marx, in the Communist Manifesto of 1848, already differentiates among seven types of socialism, dismissing all except his own. Since his doctrines are described as "socialist" and the publication is called "Communist Manifesto," it is just a game with words. The most successful word game was devised by Stalin, who renamed Hitler's regime "fascist" to cover up the fact that it, too, was socialist. For several decades, we have been fooled about nazism and communism as "opposites." Nazis were the ultimate evil but communists Hollywood assured us during the 50th anniversary of the HUAC hearings were good people. The "Hollywood Ten" of 1948, and many others since, believed that communism was really a good idea with a few "mistakes" along the way. By mistake, a hundred million people were killed in various terrible ways, so the "Black Book of Communism" informs us. That, and the irrefutable evidence of methods identical to those of Nazi Germany, should open many eyes at last. There is nothing we can do about the past. But we can do something for the future. We can change the words we use. As Alain Besancon points out in Commentary, the current vocabulary for our political spectrum is of Soviet origin. It placed socialists and communists on the left, "capitalists, imperialists" on the right. Once

If you are honest with yourself then an interesting truth will be revealed about the Left and their agenda. Clearly NOT all of these have happened, but this was recorded 34 years ago, and the trend is evident. On the Record: CONGRESSIONAL RECORD - APPENDIX January 10, 1963 Page A34-35, entered by Hon. A.S.Herlong, Jr. of Florida in the House of Representatives. I include in the Record, under unanimous consent, the following "Current ... Goals"...: Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism ... . Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. Do away with loyalty oaths. Capture one or both of the USA political parties. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch." Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the [non-Constitutional] principle of "separation of church and state." Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the grounds that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Support any socialist movement to give centralized [Federal] control over any part of culture education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions. Infiltrate and gain control of big business. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influences of parents. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites. Giving Credit where it is due. (end Congressional Record entry) --- Many proud Leftists might stand in support of most of the above goals (perhaps somewhat re-worded to be more "politically correct" in modern terms), and boast that with their guidance the Democratic Party has become the main champion of such causes, though the Left leaning members of the Republican Party would insist on some credit as well. It is not outlandish to suggest that in a more "sanitized" form the above list remains very consistent with the leadership of the modern "Left, Liberal, Democratic Party" agenda, and would be a welcome component in any definition they might offer of themselves at least among others of like mind. Perhaps some of the points are still a little too "enlightened" for the "unwashed masses" to understand, but they will be dragged along "for their own good." All in all, the timely accuracy of the above goals list is amazing in retrospect of how much of it either has been accomplished, or is still an active goal with ardent supporters working to this day. The so-called free press are experts at this techique, as are the democrats and The Liar. They now want, and are succeeding in, inserting this into the American legal system to silence and even imprison legitimate opposition. The concept of hate speech and hate crime have no place in the law in the American constitutional republic.
