umm...I'm having some problems with the math here. 600 albums is 25 albums an hour for 24 hours. 25 albums an hour is one every 2.4 minutes, no pausing for eating, sleeping or the washroom. I don't think I've ever even done 60 albums a day, at the beginning when I got started with this whole

Just to clarify, i did check the XP firewall after disabling ZA but it was still off. And Ipconfig definatly says the DHCP was enabled and running. I did manage to connect once to the network using a 169... address but stopped working again. Since competely uninstalling zonealarm altogether and

I reckon that the flash size has no influence on the performance. As far as I know, it is used to store the boot loader, the kernel and an initrd image. These will be loaded on boot and are not used for operation. But I may be wrong about that. Btw, there is a beta release firmware for the

Zone Alarm works great for me...but I did have to tell it to allow the IP of the SB3 and to allow SlimServer permission to talk back. My guess is that you set ZoneAlarm correctly, and when you disablrd it the Windows Firewall didn't have those exceptions. Any software firewall is going to ask

Try resetting the squeezeboxes to factory defaults, and then put them on the network one and a time manually configuring their ips. I'm wondering if this is another manifestation of the binding to multiple ips problem a couple people have seen. -- leko

Very minor but Softsqueeze 2.7 with excession-thin on Windows XP with Sun Java Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_06-b05) has the LCD screen a few pixels too low and to the right. Softsqueeze 2.3 doesn't suffer from this. -- knigma

Leko, Thanks for the quick reply. I've done the resetting to factory standards several times - when using DHCP the different Squeezeboxes sometimes received the same IP address, so I switched to manual IP assignment outside the DHCP range - but same thing. And the Slimserver software only shows
