Well, I've tried it again and again, and it's definitely a bug : the Make sure the langauge in the player's firmware menu is set to French too. To get there, press hold left/back button. Mine are set to German and I've never seen the language switch back.

If you don't have an SB Radio and you don't connect directly to mysqueezebox.com (formerly squeezenetwork.com) then you don't have to upgrade to 7.4.x. You can keep running 7.3.x on the QNAP, and as long as you connect to MySB.com through the QNAP, you don't have to upgrade the SC/SBS on the QNAP

Couple of other things to check: Are the files tagged with MusicBrainz Picard at all? There is a specific issue in 7.4 if files have been tagged using an old version of MusicBrainz Picard. The newer versions of Picard tag your files in a slightly different way and this is what is now supported
